I have also had terrific service from IPO. All my ADRs for OCt. have been made and my 90 day requests submitted. I still have a few things to make decisions about and I am going to try to find out how our stay will be impacted by the rehab. It's nice to have most things taken care of and now I can just sit back and relax!:thumbsup2

Another :thumbsup2 for GF IPO.

Wow, October dining reservations. We have another trip planned for that month and I haven't even started to think about reservations for that one!

Yes, I feel like quite the over-achiever! Since this trip is about rewarding my niece for her wonderful care of my dad, I want to hit the "special" spots - Cali Grill, Le Cellier, etc. We are also hoping for a Wishes cruise. I can't wait to show her my dad's favorite place on earth! And somehow I know he'll be right there with us...

Hi, can anybody help me with some info on Lodge Tower Rooms and where I can find photos.

We are thinking of booking a package direct with our TA as it doesn't look like they will release any AP rates for the rest of June. The rooms they have available start at what they list as "Lodge Rooms". We are currently booked into a Garden View room. The price is about the same.

Thanks for your help

Lodge Tower Rooms are in the turrets of the lodge buildings. They have two queen beds and in the turret is a little seating area with a sofa, two chairs, extra occasional tables and a second TV. Triple figs has pics of her Sugar Loaf lodge tower room on page 278, post 4158. She wound up with a sleeper sofa, however our family of 5 did not. Most of these rooms only sleep 4 with two queens and do not have the sleeper sofa.

Happy planning,

Lives4Disney :)

A room sleeping 4 would be ok as we don't need the sleeper bed. Am I right in thinking that they could be any of the views, ie. we could end up with a garden, pool or lagoon view?

Would it be a good deal if could get one of these rooms for the same price as a garden view?

The outer buildings are called lodges. Perhaps a lodge room just mean that. Is gardenview a seperate choice where you are looking at rates?

Now you're making me nervous, minniesota. CG is one of our mustdos every trip. I made our reservation for our upcoming trip around 60 days out. Of course, we like to go on the early side to avoid the Wishes rush.

Good luck with your Wishes cruise. We haven't done the MK fireworks cruise in years but it is so lovely. We much prefer it to Illuminations cruise although it sounds like that one is harder to get.:confused3

Yes, the options start at a garden view, then lagoon view, then a lodge room then lodge concierge?

Yes, it would be a great deal to get one of these rooms for GV rate. These lodge tower rooms are a bit larger than standard rooms and really neat with the little round seating area. I believe all the views are of garden for lodge tower category rooms.

In your previous post you did mention "Lodge Rooms", BCV answered that - I thought it was a typo actually. Lodge rooms are just rooms in the various lodge buildings - not the main building. The rooms with the extra seating area in the turret are "LODGE TOWER ROOMs". Gotta have that "tower" in there, or it's just any lodge room anywhere at the GF with whatever view you book. GV and MK and Lagoon view rooms are all considered "Lodge Rooms". LODGE TOWER rooms have the turret seating area. Lodge concierge is in the Sugar Loaf lodge building. Royal Palm Club concierge is Main building.

Happy planning,

Thats whats confusing me because they have just called it a lodge room.

The Garden View & Lagoon View rooms are cheaper (not available for my date) and the concerige is more $$ the rooms they are stating are lodge rooms are priced in between.

I guess I'll just have to wait until tomorrow to confirm. It's a national holiday here in the UK so when I phoned the TA earlier they couldn't help me as the correct department are off today :bitelip:

It sounds like they mean LODGE TOWER room by the price range. The tower room is in the turret, has extra square footage & sleeps 4 with two queens. Any room in the outer buildings (lodges) is a lodge room. They are differentiated by the views. The tower rooms are specifically those turret rooms and views don't play into reserving these tower rooms. If you want to book that turret room, it is called a lodge TOWER room. Good luck tomorrow! I am sure you're anxious to find out what the story is. I hope you can book what you want.:goodvibes

Hi everyone! I've missed you guys! :grouphug: I hope everyone is doing well. I was wondering if there was any news on the GF rehab? We might add on a few days to our October trip, and I'd like it to be at the GF. So far, we've got a week at the Contemporary tower MK view room, but I fell in love with GF last December and want to go back! So, any news or pictures yet?

Really? I didn't know they were moving Citricos? I guess I can understand that they wouldn't want the Cafe open for dinner right in front of V&A's... but it just sounds crazy to move it in the first place... hmmmm....

Hi mlill, we've missed you!

The changes to GF Cafe are only temporary I think. While 1900 is refurbished, there will be a character preplated meal at the Cafe for breakfast and dinner. Citricos will serve breakfast and lunch with the GF Cafe menu. Citricos will still serve its typical fare for dinner.

Someone reported that work is already being done on rooms in Sago Cay. Conch Key is supposed to be next. I've told my husband we have to try to do a bit of DIS recon work during our stay.:rotfl2:

Hi, Michelle!! It has been a while. :) Glad you're back here!:thumbsup2

BCV, yeah!! Check things out while you're there!

I think this restaurant moving around stuff is only temporary while they are doing rehabs. Everything will be back to normal - I THOUGHT I read Oct 1 as far as rest. rehabs.

Happy planning!!

Can anyone tell me if they will be doing room refurbs this year? I am trying to find a listed schedule, but i can't. I know about the rest. refurbs, but what about the rest of the hotel?

Yes, this is what I've heard, too. Except, I believe the Cafe is doing the character meals for breakfast and dinner, similar to the 1900 schedule. I don't believe they'll be open for lunch during this time. Citrico's will be picking up the slack and serving a breakfast and lunch menu similar to the Cafe's during this time, and then serving their typical menu for dinner.

And you can check out information I received from IPO re: the rehab a few pages back. I would post the link, but the DIS is running SO SLOW. I will edit my post when it's back to normal with the link.

ETA: Here's the link to my earlier post on the rehab schedule, per IPO: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=18485638&postcount=4318

Oops, thanks for catching that, Tinkaroo.:thumbsup2 I meant dinner not lunch but didn't catch my error. I've edited my post.:surfweb:
