Brunette, thanks for your review! I'm staying in a MK Tower Room (first time in the Tower) in late March. I'm looking forward to it, to say the least. I've stayed at CR a few times before, but always in the wings, and never in the renovated rooms yet.

I appreciate your honesty about the housekeeping. I've been hearing a lot about that. Good to know what to expect...I'll probably bring a container of Clorox Wipes with me, because I canNOT stand a dirty bathroom, although I never make my own bed, so I don't care about rumply beds. :p I'll just not tip if they don't do a good job.

We actually chose the Contemporary BECAUSE of the "sterile" decor. After all the "in your face" Disney all day, I sort of like coming back to a room/hotel that isn't all themed to the hilt. I prefer modern elegance, and a more upscale room decor, and the Contemporary's rooms look perfect for us. ::yes::

And, hopefully, they'll get some foliage planted around the pool in time for our arrival (March 26) so that we'll be able to enjoy the "new" pool.

I just want to point out that I read from another source that the CR pool renovation would not be complete until March 31. I am not sure who is correct, but wdwinfo.com is NOT affiliated with Disney, and when I spoke to the CM when I made my reservation, he told me that the pool MAY NOT be done when we arrive and if it's not, we can use the pools at WL or Poly until it is finished at CR, which leads me to believe the March 31 completion date may be more accurate.

Hey there, fellow bucknut!

Initially the pool rehab was scheduled for Jan 5 - March 15. However, according to those who have visited the Contemporary recently, they didn't actually begin the rehab on the main pool until earlier this week. I don't know if they still plan on finishing up by March 15 or if the delay in starting the rehab has pushed that date back.

Having said that, if the pool is not open during your trip, I believe you will have access to the pools at both the Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge.

Here's to hoping the pool is open when you visit...

and go Buckeyes!

This is exactly what drew me to the Contemporary.

We got our DVD yesterday. I'm so excited! This is a dream come true for me. I didn't think I'd ever get to stay there.
2 more mos!

I am seriously bummed about the computers!! That was a key factor for us to stay at the Contemporary over the Poynesian. We'll still have fun when we get there, but DH will be very sad....

I agree! That really was the perk of staying there.

Well when it comes to information given by Cast Members about anything who knows if it's true or not. However if it's not completed untul March 31 that would not surprise me. Also I believe the quiet pool is to be open when the main pool is being renovated, so should anyone still want to swim there they don't need to travel to the Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge to do that.

We're pumped...we just booked BLT for trips in October and December. We're at the CR every single trip because California Grill is an absolute must do for my family. But it will be fun to stay at a resort that is new for our family.:goodvibes

Have a great time on both of your stays there. :thumbsup2

Thanks, CRFan.:goodvibes I'm sure we will. As much as we love the Polynesian and GF it will be wonderful to be on the monorail and enjoy the space and amenities of a villa.:thumbsup2

So, is there currently a Slushee machine at the CR or no? Got to cover those important questions (according to dd12 :) ).

Thanks!

I just booked a three night stay at Bay Lake Tower for next January. This will be my first time staying at a monorail resort. What shouldn't I miss while I'm there. I know BLT isn't open yet, but I'd love to hear about the Contemporary!

Maybe you can schedule ADR's at the California Grill, Chef Mickey's or The Wave, using the walkway to the Magic Kingdom, watching Wishes from the 4th floor observation deck and getting to ride the Monorail anytime you want.

I agree with CRFan's ideas.

Some other ideas:

Watch the Electrical Water Pageant.

Take the boat to WL/FW to visit those resorts.

Enjoy the wonderful restaurants around the monorail circuit. It is really fun to go to dinner (or any other meal) via monorail.

Enjoy Wishes from the tranquility of your resort.

Congratulations on your reservation.:thumbsup2

Hi CR folks, new to Disney World so please bare with me. I'll be staying at the CR club level facing the MK this coming March.

Now should i request the 12th or 14th floor? Are the rooms near the elevators/club rooms really noisy? Should I stay away from there? I have seen the pictures on here but seeing a picture cant really beat personal experiences.

Actually come to think of it, how do I go about making requests for my room?

can't wait to hear back from ya`ll

You don't request either floor. If you want a guaranteed Magic Kingdom View or Bay Lake View then make a reservation for the Atrium Club which is the 12th floor.

The 14th floor which is called the Tower Club only has 16 rooms, where they have 5 standard rooms and the rest are various suites. The standard rooms do not come with a guaranteed view so it needs to be requested, however the suites come with a guaranteed view. Also the standard rooms up there are more expensive then the 12th floor rooms, plus those rooms also never got the full renovation.

Anyway both floors come with the exact same service and various foods served during the day and night. Some differences is the 12th floor has a bigger lounge, however there are less guests on the 14th floor since there is a smaller amount of rooms.
