So it could very well be that they're only "selling" x% of their rooms at this time. I'm pretty sure that they also have ways of tracking demand (i.e., when you request a room and are told it's not available but there are still empty rooms because of this hold-back) so that they can plan staffing. The last thing they want it union employees (housekeepers, for example) for 100% capacity sitting around when the hotel is only x% booked. Their wages, benefits, etc., are far more costly to Disney than lost revenue from a handful of rooms.

Best advice: keep trying back. Maybe you can skew the demand factor and they'll release more rooms!

If you try to book anything up until the beginning of August there is a lot available. Any time after August (and I mean any time- Aug, sept,oct, dec...) it shows nothing is available. Bay Lake is supposed to open the beginning of August. It is pretty obvious they are just making some changes to the system. I would just call to book. You will need to call anyway in order to use a pin. I booked a room at the Contemporary using a pin on Sunday over the phone. But when I checked online there was a lot available, now nothing, it is just the system.

Questions:

We need to purchase quick breakfast foods and snacks at the resort. Where would we get these? We will need the following: poptarts, cereal bars, pretzels, juice.

What serving sizes are available?

Is the room fridge big enough for full-size juice containers?

Once it opens the brand new Fantasia Market should have those items for sale.

As for the fridge being big enough for full size juice containers I don't think they are, so maybe you should purchase a few smaller bottles that will fit in there.

According to the renovation schedule on wdwinfo.com it says the construction there is taking place until April 30, so I am sure it will be open after that.

We checked in today. I booked a garden wing/std view room and we were upgraded to a tower room with an MK view!

We have stayed in a garden wing room before and really liked it but this is way cool!!!

Out of curiousity.... did you ask for the upgrade or did they proactively offer it to you? We're going at a busy time, so I wouldn't expect one, but I'd love to know for future knowledge. Thanks!!

I don't think that will happen because I am sure you will also be able to make reservations for Bay Lake Tower through CRO, just like any of the other DVC Resorts.

I didn't ask for an upgrade and I didn't make a room request. I did enter that it was our Anniversary on the "My Reservations" section of the website. That is the only thing that I can imagine would have influenced it.

Just wondering if anyone knows what's going on at the contemporary Dec.13-20? I went online to look since we got a 40% off code but there is nothing available! A few weeks ago, all room types were open. I don't get it because that is supposed to be a slow week at Disney and it 10 months away!

I'm having a similar issue with the week of Sept 19-26. The only available rooms are Suites. I'm assuming there is a convention?

Can you explain how to get from the hotel to Epcot and how long it takes to get there? I know you can use the monorail, but I think I have to take different monorails?

On our first day there, I know we'll be ready to hit the parks around 4-5 pm. I want to be back at the hotel around 8 pm. I'm trying to figure out if we should just stick with the MK (even though we have 2 1/2 other days planned there) or venture out to Epcot.

I've ruled out the other two parks since the bus rides to and back could take a while....

Thoughts?
