I just wanted to say the Online Concierge program really works. Just after 11:00 PM we requested some more shampoos and soaps which were delivered to our room 15 minutes later. The surprising thing was that someone was there this late to handle it. So I hope this information will help others out in the future.

I heard the construction of the new Outer Rim Lounge might be complete in April or May of 2009 when I asked today, although hopefully it will be done in Janurary 2009.

Wow, that's a big discrepency! I hope it's completed by the time I get there at the end of March.

Is there anywhere else to have a drink at the Contemporary besides the Outer Rim? (and besides the CA Grill lounge?) or will we have to monorail over to the Poly Tambu Lounge for some casual drinks if the OR lounge is still not complete?

from what i understand, the wave (newer contemporary restaurant) has a full-service bar...

The Wave does have a lovely bar. Brucie & Janice are excellent servers and Phillip has excellent taste in wine. You will be well taken care of there. It's a nice atmosphere, quiet comfy seating areas away from the bar as well as a tv at the bar with sports.

I would like to suggest either the Bloody Mary or the Main Divide Reisling.

Hi everyone!

We're planning on having a small get together (7 people) in our Tower room to watch the New Year's fireworks from MK on Dec. 30th.

I would like to order some snacks or maybe a cake or something. Does anyone know if this would be possible, or have any suggestions?
I looked over the In-Room Dining menu posted on Allears, but didn't really see any options.

Also, when they do "special" fireworks like the ones for New Years, do they still play the audio on the Resort TV?

If there is some special audio for the New Years fireworks it would be played on channel 20.

Actually we have not been in our room during the MVMCP fireworks, however we should be watching them this Friday so I can let you know after that because I plan to watch them from the lounge. So if we hear it from there then it's played on the TV's.

Have you checked out the cake thread over on the Restaurant Board? I don't know how to post a link, but there is a lot of great information (and some yummy looking pics) about ordering cakes from the resort bakery.

Well, we have to postpone our trip for a year. We'll shoot for December of '10. We have our hearts on staying CL at CR and would rather wait a year to go and do it up right than to change to another resort. It was a big family discussion last night. I'm keeping up with this thread in the meantime though because we will eventually get there!

Yes, they do play the soundtrack for the Holiday Wishes fireworks. I watched them three times from my balcony last week. Just turn your TV to channel 20 just before they start - 9:30 PM.

The playground was demolished along with the north garden wing. A new playground is scheduled to be built next to the Bay Lake Tower which will be opening in fall 2009. All CR guests should have access to the new playground.

We plan on staying at CR Jan 2010, so I hope the playground will be done by then. It will be nice to have for my boys.
