Hi everyone!

We're planning on having a small get together (7 people) in our Tower room to watch the New Year's fireworks from MK on Dec. 30th.

I would like to order some snacks or maybe a cake or something. Does anyone know if this would be possible, or have any suggestions?
I looked over the In-Room Dining menu posted on Allears, but didn't really see any options.:confused3

they did - it was in the in-room dinning - maybe she just doesn't post that information.

so call room service when you arrive and arrange it. - now this will NOT be cheap at all.

also be sure to call at least 24 hours before you need it - NY eve - expect RS to be very, very busy.

think there is a pool bar.

There is a lounge in the wave that is a full service bar. You can sit at the bar or in two funky alcove areas lit with blue neon. We went there with the kids about 10 p.m. and each had an adult beverage and the kids had a smoothie and a milkshake.

yes 2 queens I am sending this message from CR bay lake tower view. You are going to love it.

Thanks! What floor are you on? Can you hear Chef Mickey's from your room?
I realize that I am not Echo queen, however my family and I were just at the Contemporary and had a Bay Lake View on the 12th floor and were in room #4802, which was right over Chef Mickey's. However the noise from there did not bother us at all and you can really hear it when standing in the little hallway by the door.

I just wanted to make sure b/c we will have a 1 yr old we will take back to the room for naptime.
Thanks!

I just booked room only CR tower Bay Lake view for early Feb 2010. Yay! The CM said b/c 2010 rates obviously aren't out yet so they had to go by 2009 rates & then the price will adjust once 2010 rates come out. The only thing is that he charged me $520 per night for the 1st week in Feb. That is value season & priced at $390/night. I asked him why am I being charged so much more & he said they are using holiday rates. That once the rates for 2010 come out, then my price will go down to value rates for that time. Is that right? Does Disney usually do this, pricing you at the highest rate til the new rates come out?
The nice thing about booking room only is that if they don't drop my price down, I can cancel w/no fees.

Congrats on the getting the room! But yes, Disney does charge the highest rate from that previous year, then once those rates come out they adjust.

We're here now on the 12th floor and you can definitely hear Chef Mickey's ... it's directly below us. Our first morning, we were planning on sleeping in (we were at the MK 'til 1:30 a.m.) and Mickey's Malevolent Musical Minions (as we've come to call them) woke us up at 7:30 with a rousing chorus of "Celebrate with Mickey Mouse". Neither my son nor I are light sleepers, but it jolted both of us awake!

The rest of the mornings haven't been as bad because we were up and moving already, but that first morning we were surprised at how loud it seemed.

That being said, we booked the same floor for next year! ;) My dh did say that he's going to request the opposite end of the wing, though.

I am not sure if you know this but starting next year you now make a reservation for the Magic Kingdom View or Bay Lake View on the 12th floor. So you could still end up with a room over Chef Mickey's, which means you need to request a room over the Fantasia store.

Yup, we know. We booked an MK View Atrium Club room, and requested the north end of the floor so we won't (hopefully) be over Chef Mickey's. Even if we are, it's not that big a deal, either. It's all good! :goodvibes

Were also just happy to have the Magic Kingdom View confirmed for this August, so even if we are on the Chef Mickey's side it's no big deal. Plus since were on the 12th floor it's better then being on the 5th or 6th floors and hearing it that much closer to there.

We have a reservation for a Garden view.... will we enjoy it? If you go around the building, can you get a glimpse of the castle from the beach?

You won't be able to see the Castle from the beach, however if you can see it anytime from the 4th floor observation deck.

Call garden grocer in orlando and for a very reasonable fee they will deliver your grocery order to bell services. We used it this time and will do so in the future. You place your order online and book a deliver day and time, and they deliver your groceries. Prices were similar to a major chain grocery, and the more you order the lower the fee. They have bakery and snacks, soda pop etc.

Hi Everyone! Im so excited to even be on this thread! We JUST came back a week ago from our very first DW stay. We stayed at ASmovies. It was great, very busy and we did get home sick...but that is what you get when you are away a week before Christmas from lots of cold and snow to super warm weather. ;)
Now we think we might be going back in Jan 2010 (little over a year away) with my folks. We went to Chef Mickeys and were SO impressed with the CR.
So Im trying to wrap my head around consierge and Club levels and all this... not firmiliar with the lingo or services (we are generally always picking the cheapest route..but the buses drove us bonkers)

Alrighty, my question(s) is this. IF we all stay in one room... there will be 4 adults 1 teen and 2 toddlers. So really we would need 2 queens 1 single and 2 dbls (or better or day beds...you know...whatever)

Also, with the Club rooms (ok again my lingo is not up to par, but the rooms where they have the food and beverages) I noticed in pics of AKL they offered evening drinks. Kahlua Grand marnia and such.

All I can price out right now is for this Jan coming up. The options are Garden wing hosp suite, which wouldn't be the BEST solution for all 7 of us. Then it's the Garden Wing 1bdr suite which seems to work out just fine bed wise. Beyond that we would need our own bedrooms (which is fine too). Im trying to do what would be the cheapest, but the best...and LOVE the idea of being served snacks and beverages throughout the day. That would be great. Another bonus is the cold breakfasts. WE didn't even have a fridge at ASmovies. It was fine, and Im one to make do with what I have...but it seemed more of a hastle than anything.

I hope someone can help me out!

When you mean the Club Level rooms do you mean the types of drinks they offer at night, because from 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM there are various liqour drinks.

Finally I would say the Garden Wing 1 Bedroom Suite is what's best for you since you have 7 people.
