We loved Bay Lake view and requested it. You can hear the boats coming in in the morning, see the ELP at night, the movie by the pool, you can even see spaceship earth! I would request it again too. While the MK view is nice for the fireworks at night and to see the castle, Bay Lake is more relaxing.

We just upgraded from Garden Wing to the Tower, Bay Lake View for my dad who loves:love: water and will adore watching the sun rise over the lake.

Here's hoping we made the right decision!! Would have loved a MK view, but I got outvoted. My family doesn't know Disney!:lmao:

I'm so excited about our upcoming trip to WDW now. When I changed it, my DH said I could only book for 5 day. Last night he said that I could change it to 8 days. I was suprised that I was able to add days to our trip with that view. I had always thought that a MK view at the CR was really hard to get, but I've had no trouble at all.
Congragulations and have a great time. :thumbsup2

I am so excited I had 1 night room only stay at Pop and then 4 nights at CR package with ddp to follow. I have a Disney visa but did not enquire about the offer before now because it stated 12/20 as the end of the offer.
Well, so for $108.00 more I will have 5 night garden wing garden view at CR and deluxe dining. I already have ards for Ohana booked for dinner on the first night ( I was going to pay oop but now it will be included on the dining plan  ,our flight lands just after noon. Will use the DME to CR where can we eat lunch? I do not have anything booked, what are good couter service options at CR? By the time we get there and check in I am sure we will be ready to eat.popcorn:: TIA CR FAN:flower3:

I am kind of confused about one thing. If your staying 1 night at Pop Century before checking into the Contemporary, won't you have to take Magical Express there and not to the Contemporary?

As for counter service at the Contemporary hopefully by December the Contempo Cafe will be opened, however if it's not the Tempo Grab & Go is not that bad of a location and there is also the Sand Bar by the pool, which has your standard items. The thing is their menu is alot more limited. Also you could take the Monorail to the Polynesian and try Captin Cooks or to the Grand Floridian and try Gasparilla's Grill & Games, as other ideas for counter service locations.

For those folks who were curious about the state of construction, here is a photo from the 10th floor from our trip 9/17/08-9/23/08:

The picture is small, but even so I can tell that it definitely won't be done by the time we go in November :sad1:

Were you at all inconvenienced by the construction?

Thanks for the options. What I was trying to say, is that I cancelled the POP ressie and all of my stay will be at CR with the free dining Visa code.:cool2:

Sorry about the eensy-beensy pictures...I have been working on making them bigger but am (obviously) having trouble.
We really didn't find the construction a problem. The Grab-and-Go was better than I had expected (the morning egg scramber was a fave).

On the Bay Lake side, my kids reported that they could occasionally hear construction noise as well as smell things from the work.
On the MK side, we heard Chef Mickey's "Celebrate" song quite clearly.
We were all on the 10th floor, mind you, so I think the construction site definitely has affected the way that sound travels...there really is nothing to absorb the sound.
However, we were not inconvenienced. If you can stand it (!), here is another tiny picture showing the relationship of the construction site to Chef Mickey's:

Hi Everyone!!!

My family spent one night at the CR on Sept 10th. We had a MK view and were on the 11th floor, room 4748. I thought I'd share these few pics with you all. I hope you enjoy! (Sorry in advance they are so big....I don't know how to fix that!)

Thanks to you both!

eeyoresnr...our room was all the way at the end, closest to the MK. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I hope you enjoy your stay in Dec...and also that you get the 11th floor, even though any floor with that view should be just as awesome!!

This may have been asked already...have all the tower rooms been renovated? Just curious if our room will be a "new" or "old" version. TIA :goodvibes
