I will live in this tread until Christmas. We know it will be busy, we will have the deluxe dinning I was hoping for Christmas dinner at Liberty tree. Do think it will be to crowded, should I shoot for a resort for dinner?
Here is the schedule about how things work when it comes to the parks closing during the day on major holidays. Of course there is no specific times when these stages go into effect, which is why it's best to arrive the park early just to be on the safe side.

Stage 1 - The parking lot entrance is closed. You can only access the park if you are using Disney Transportation.

Stage 2 - The ticket windows are all closed (and the automated Ticket Vending Machines are turned off). Unless you already have a ticket you cannot get in.

Stage 3 - Only people with Annual Passes or current Resort IDs will be allowed in.

Stage 4 - Nobody is allowed in.

Note - having restaurant reservations in a park, even with written proof, will not override a stage closing for you.

wow awesome photos!

if you count, you'll see there's 12 floors built. - not totally, yet, but you can see the structure..

this means only 3 left. Progress has really been made.

Pretty soon we'll be able to define the true visual structure of the resort. I can't wait to see the details

Pete Werner's Contemporary review was great to read!

It was good to learn the best rooms for an MK view are 4X25-4X48. (6-12th floors).

Does anyone know if room 4X25 or room 4X48 would be closest to MK?

The very 1st time my family and I stayed at the Contemporary we were in room 4848 on the 12th floor, which is the closest you can get towards the Magic Kingdom and last summer we were in 4846 again on the 12th floor, which is just as close. Other times we have been farther away with the Magic Kingdom view, however I think the view looks the same no matter the floor your on or what side your room happens to be on.

Hi, is anyone worried that once this new cr dvc hotel is booked it might be a nightmare with twice as many people trying to use the monorail? any thoughts?

Honestly the Monorail is always jammed with guests everyday. Most of the time it's a lot of the guests who just visit the Contemporary to eat there and take the Monorail back to the TTC so they can get their cars, or back to the Magic Kingdom so they can get on their Disney Resort bus. Sometimes during the month of August we have had to wait for 1 or 2 Monorails to leave until we got on because they were that many guests. The other times it has been jammed is in December during the holidays and I am sure it's like that during the other major holidays.

Thanks for the reply, CR Resort Fan 4 Life!

Do you know if that corner room, 4X48 (whatever floor) would also have a side view of the Kingdom Tower construction?:confused3

Last August when we stayed in room 4846, I don't remember seeing any of the construction happening when looking outside at the Magic Kingdom. So like I said before about that room it's one of the closest ones towards the Magic Kingdom, so hopefully that will help you out.

With some idea of what's for sale in the Sundries gift shop for breakfast type foods, and what types of Milk and OJ they have for sale? Still hoping for this info...popcorn::

We have a Tower Bay Lake view room booked, is there a "common" area for viewing fireworks if we wish? Also could we see Epcot's fireworks off in the distance from our Bay Lake room?:confused3

The fourth floor has an observation area for wishes fireworks. You can also see them from the north stairwell on your floor if the 4th floor gets crowded.

Milk, in December was whole and 1%. Don't know about OJ. Did that answer your question (I wasn't quite sure what you wanted to know)?

thanks for answering! Just wasn't sure if we would see the fireworks without leaving the hotel. Yes, I was just questioning what the selection for drinks/breakfast type items and the cost from the Sundries gift shop. Not wanting to do a grocery delivery this time. What about the Epcot fireworks from the Bay lake side?

What about the Epcot fireworks from the Bay lake side?

That would be more challenging. From my room if i leaned over my balcony i could see Epcot, so you probably could see it if you tried, but the view would not be that great

The one time we had a Bay Lake view I remember seeing the Epcot fireworks from a far distance, however it was still not the greatest view.

i believe i have a pic of epcot from leaning over the patio...i will look and post if i find it

here is the pic...u can see it is a while away...u might get a descent showing though...

We have booked a standard view room at CR for October! Yeah!!! I had a few questions and I hope someone here can help:

1. The CM on reservations was kind of confusing...I think we may have a room with one king bed, instead of 2 doubles. Does anyone know if the square footage of the king bed rooms is any different from the double bed rooms?

2. Are there any areas of the garden wings we should request to avoid? For instance, is it loud to be in a room near the laundry?

3. We'll have two small kids (3 yr old and 6 month old) with DH and me -- is there anything else we might want to consider in making any room requests?

Thanks -- this is our first time at CR and hope we fall in love with it as much as everyone else here!
