Do you know if that corner room, 4X48 (whatever floor) would also have a side view of the Kingdom Tower construction?:confused3

We're just back, we stayed in 4848 for one night (12th floor)...I don't recall being able to see any of the Kingdom Tower construction from our balcony (although to be honest, I wasn't really looking for it...I was more focused on the awesome MK view!).

I just went and reviewed the video I took from the balcony of 4848, and the new tower construction was nowhere to be seen.

Hope this helps!

Is that MK view or Bay Lake view?

That is a Magic Kingdom view and it's considered to be the closest room towards the Magic Kingdom, since it's at the very end on the right side of the hallway. In fact in May 1998 during my families 1st stay at the Contemporary on the Atrium Club Level that was the room we happen to get.

THis question is for any CR fans who have also stayed at the GF and Poly....
Would you mind sharing your experiences as far as what you believed the pros of staying at CR, other than the other resorts?

I am a chronic resort changer..(lol)...and while I have stayed at GF and Poly....I guess its the thought of staying somewhere new. As far as what I have read on this wonderful thread, the fact that I snagged the room I have with a 40% code is reason enough to stop asking questions!!!!

How many more days triplefigs?! :) :) :)

I have stayed at the GF Sugarloaf Concierge, Poly LV, CR Concierge 12th floor, BCV. I love changing resorts as it gives Disney a fresh feel. But, we always end back at the CR! For Christmas, I love the GF the best for the atmosphere. For warmer weather, the BC is great because of SAB. But our fave is the CR for the monorail, view, closeness to the MK, restaurants. We just love it there! BTW, our least fave was the Poly. We are just not big Hawaii fans, so the theming wasn't our style. It is a lovely resort with a great pool.

And 19 days to go!!:worship: :worship: :worship: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :dance3:

We just booked the Atrium Club for Nov.28th - Dec. 6th
It's our first time staying at the CR and it's also our first time at WDW with no extra family tagging along!
Just me and DH!!! I'm super excited!

I have stayed at the poly. I like the CR better because it is all in one building. At the Poly everything is spread out. The paths and everything were beautiful, but it just didn't do much for me. And have all the longhouses spread out was absolutly horrible in the rain. We got soaked. When in CR the walk to the bus stop is covered and the monorail is in the building. I think it is all much more easier and convenient. And quite a site watching the monorail go through the building too!

I called first thing this morning about my reserved AAA discount room (MK view) and the CM said there was no availability for free dining.

Thanks MusicMom! What are your dates? We got the 40% off and booked rooms at CRMKV and GF! I've done the math a few times and we are sticking with our room only. I have done POP w/Free Dining a few times and I want to get the Rooms we really want now. We've stayed at all of the resorts and love CR the best.

This may sound stupid, but does anyone know where I could download the current audio from the monorail when it enters the Contemporary from MK?

Last December my family and I stayed in a Club Level Lagoon view at the Polynesian. (Originally had a Garden view, but were upgraded to the Lagoon view.) The main reason we stayed because at the time the Atrium Club was sold out when we made our reservations, so we thought let's try the Polynesian for a change. While there was nothing wrong with it after visiting the Contemporary and seeing from our room, I realized how I missed staying there. We like staying at the Contemporary because of how close it is to the Magic Kingdom, staying in the Tower is great because your an elevator ride away from the shops/restaurants on the 4th floor and because we have had so many stays on the Atrium Club a lot of the Cast Members who worked there for a while remember who we are, which is a nice feeling because we know how great their service will be.

Our dates are Sept 17 to Sept 22. Congrats on the 40%!!! That was my hope but no such luck. However, I am happy with our 20% AAA discount...I can't believe we are going to wake up and see MK! We will cope without the free dining. Could be worse. Could be staying home!

That's the best way to look at things.

I have stayed at all three. The other two GF and Poly seem so spread out. At the end of a busy day of walking, I love getting off of the monorail and get on the elevator and right up to our room. I love a MK view and feel like our hotel is IN the park instead of next to it. I don't think that anything beats having the hotel where the monorail RUNS THROUGH IT! You don't much more disney than that! I like that it was the first hotel and that Walt was involved with its design (unless of course I just dreamed that part:rotfl: ). Best of all, when the MK is crowded, we can walk 'home', unless of course that part about walking too much - in which case we don't mind if we stand on the monorail because we are the first stop after the MK.

GF is nice but I feel that the rooms are not quite as nice as CR. The CR rooms feel well, roomier! The Poly was beautiful. Just didn't like that all the buildings are disconnected. While I loved the tropical plants all that brown on and in the buildings got old quickly.

Hope this helps. BTW, I saw your hometown in your signature. I am from New Lenox! :wave2:

Joe,

Check out page 33. We just got back about 10 days or so. I posted a few. What are you looking for specifically? I have other pics that I didn't post.
