The NEW Disney's Contemporary Resort FAQ with PICTURES! (Feb 2008)

I called first thing this morning about my reserved AAA discount room (MK view) and the CM said there was no availability for free dining.

My TA (AAA) was able to book us a MKV w/FD on 04/07/08. I thought she was kidding when she said the CM told her it was the last one left. I know the CR is very difficult to book w/FD. We always stay there and before FD we would stay on either the 12th or 14th floor. They don't offer FD for the concierge levels but two out of the last three years we were bumped up there anyway.

Our Aug trip will be our 13th trip and the 13th at the CR. We love it there!!

We absolutely refuse to stay anywhere else. The first year we took both our children our daughter was nine months old and had some medical problems, she's fine now but medical equipment, special food, and medicine were all needed. The CMs at CR were just amazing and they gained our loyalty. Since then we have gotten to know many of the CMs there very well. To us it's become like a second home.

We are arriving the night before Thanksgiving and have a AAA MK view for the next five nights. I have been trying to get a AAA discount w/MK view on our last night 12/1, but for the last month have not been able to. Every CM I speak to is so surprised that the Monday after Thanksgiving isn't available. We've ruled out Pop Warner. Anyone know of any conventions or such the first week of December?

We booked the Garden Deluxe Room too.....I have only seen a few pics but it seemed like a great deal (especially w/free dining). Alot cheaper than getting 2 standard view rooms!

We were torn between getting 2 rooms at WL (for my wife and I and 2 young children) versus the Deluxe room at Contemporary. I hope that we are making the right choice.

I am not sure if it has to do with any conventions because I don't know of a website that lists upcoming ones at the Contemporary, however since you have a while until your vacation if you keep checking I am sure the room for your last night will become available.

I think you made the right choice. With two young kids you will appreciate using the Monorail, being the 1st stop on the buses when returning to the Contemporary and having the walkway to and from the Magic Kingdom.

We are staying at the CR May 17-22, we rented points through a friend who has DVC. I know that when we reserved we opted for DME, but when do we get our luggage tags? Should it be soon?

You should get them by the end of this month or the first week of may. If you don't, call disney and see whats up...Have a great trip!

The CR was booked for that night, so right now we have a room at the BWI. We won't arrive in Orlando (driving) until around 11pm. Thanks for keeping an eye on that date. The kids know we are going on the 26th. They have been doing a count down calendar FOREVER, and are already so excited since we had to cancel this trip TWICE because Rees was in the hospital and sick. I can't wait to pick them up from the bus, tell them we are going to go run an errand, hit the road and say, "why don't we just go to Dinsey World NOW?!!!" I bet you'll be able to hear their screams in Canada!
