I know this does not really belong here, but I have a question about this photo we took this past Monday.

I have not been reading about the new DVC construction. DH and I were wondering what the big concrete posts in front are. They are just like the monorail ones. Is the monorail going to branch off here? I am sure I could read and find out all about it over on the DVC board, but thought someone could quickly fill me in. Thanks!

It was kind of sad to see all this since we stayed several times in the north garden wing.

Unless I am wrong I think I read that it depends on where your room happens to be located.

I have such a fear that we are going to show up on Oct 8th thinking we are going to have a beautiful waterview, which is one of the reasons we picked the CR and we are going to have a big, half finished monstrosity (sp?) blocking our view. My husband will hit the roof. It will be a BIG disappointment if this happens.

I don't really think it would. Remember it is on the north end. You may be able to see it off to the side, but I don't think your view will be obstructed. You will be facing the lake to the right of this. Request a room on the south end, middle, or up high if you want some distance from any slight obstruction.

Thanks You made me feel better. My kids really want to stay here and I don't want to disappoint them and I don't want to listen to my husband complain about an obstructed view.

The posts are for a walkway connecting the 2 buildings. The new Kingdom Towers shouldn't block the Bay Lake View as it will be off to the left facing the lake. You will of course be able to see it, but you will still have a good view straight on, to the left, and mostly to the right.

Yes, the South Garden wing rooms that face the parking lot have monorail views. If you see the 1st post in this thread, there is a map that even has the room numbers listed. You would want a standard room and make the request for "monorail view". Have fun!

My DH talked to a CM when we were there last week. He said that "every room will have a great view". I thought he said it would be 14 floors but not sure about that. Last week construction of the 11th floor was beginning.

The posts mentioned earlier are connecting a walkway to the 4th floor of the tower.

I realize that. All I meant was that same image was posted before on other threads about the DVC building at the Contemporary, before it was announced as the Kingdom Towers.

I will live in this tread until Christmas. We know it will be busy, we will have the deluxe dinning I was hoping for Christmas dinner at Liberty tree. Do think it will be to crowded, should I shoot for a resort for dinner?

MK is PACKED on Christmas day and closes for capacity a lot of times. If you're not going into the park that morning early, you might risk not being able to make your meal. They will not let you in for dinner, even if you have an ADR if the park is closed due to capacity.

I would post your question for suggestions on the Restaurant board. There will be lots of people there who have travelled to Disney for the holiday and will be able to help you. Sounds wonderful to me!

I'm planning on booking the bounceback offer for early December when we go in 3 weeks.
