Good news according to the website I saw (see post above) it looks like it's only $17,920, not $18,000!!!

Excellent! :thumbsup2 Now I don't have to come up with that extra $80. Being unemployed at the moment :rolleyes1 , $80 makes a huge difference!

If I had the money though (ok, lets be honest, and a job), I would so be first in line for one of those. How great would that be to be able to stay in that building? Can you imagine the views?!?!?!

Hi, quick question for you CR veterans. I will be attending a conference for work in November and lucky me, I get to stay at the Contemporary! :cool1:

Not only is this my first time ever staying at the Contemporary, but it is my first time at a Disney Resort. I am so excited! My question is, does anyone know, for conferences held at the CR, do they typically book conference people in a certain location, tower vs. garden, etc. Just curious, we are trying to get an idea of which building we might be in and wondered if conferences are usually booked at the same block of rooms. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :flower3:

WoW!! Congrats! When is the conference? I'm wondering if it's after T'giving (when I'm traveling) and part of the reason I can't get my room cat. of choice at CR. I'm wondering if they have a block of rooms reserved.:confused3

Based on what I have read when guests have a convention reservation at the Contemporary they can either be put into any Tower room or a Garden Wing room, so you don't make a specific room type reservation like a non convention guest would. I am sure you could request a Tower room if you wanted one, however it's still a request.

I'm leaving Friday for a convention at the CR. I'll let you know about rooms, etc. when I return.

Thanks. The conference is before Thanksgiving. I think after is a very busy time, may be why you can't get the room you want.

Thanks, I need to brush up on my requesting skills, since I'm new to staying onsite. :)

Wow - that's cool that you are staying at the CR for a convention. I need to suggest Disney for my company's annual conference.

Hi CR Fans! Just checking on the Outer Rim Lounge. A few months ago it was posted that it would be moved but still remain open (which I was very happy to hear). More recently I thought I read that it had been decided to completely close it. I was wondering which is correct?

OK, I have two nights booked at the Contemporary on the 12th floor Atrium Club level (Dec 2009). I was planning on staying at the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge for 6 nights before that.

Now, however, I just bought points at Bay Lake Tower and will be there instead of VWL. I've never stayed club level at the Contemporary.

Should I keep my club level reservation or just stay at BLT in a MK view room the entire trip?

DVC Mike: Congratulations on becoming a Founding Member!!:thumbsup2

This is just my opinion, but I would hang on to the Atrium Club reservations for now no matter what you decide to do because there's no way to be sure you'll get the BLT dates you want in December when the reservation window opens on March 1. Member Services will probably be swamped with requests that day as well as the online reservations system (I know I'll be trying for October that day!). December is a popular month and it has been reported that only 20% of the BLT units will be MK view. If you decide later that you don't want the Atrium Club room, you can cancel up to (I believe ... check me on this) 5 days before your arrival without penalty. If you cancel now you run the risk of not being able to get that reservation back again if you change your mind.

On the other hand, why not keep the Atrium Club reservation and give it a try for a couple of nights? Club level and DVC are two entirely different experiences and you may find that you thoroughly enjoy staying concierge. DH and I own at BCV (and, as of yesterday, BLT!) but still stay at other resorts as hotel guests before using our DVC points at a DVC resort (usually our home resort), getting the best of both [Disney] worlds.

Whatever you decide to do, enjoy!

I would also keep your Club Level reservation for the same reasons stated by krbq.
