Is this the offical fact thread for the Contemporary? Hoping I'm in the right spot! We have changed our resort (again!) and are now at the Contemporary and wanting to read all about it!! If this isn't the right place, please shoo me in the right direction!

I've been looking to stay at CR in Dec. from the 5th -7th and now I have been on the website and they have already sold out of the one bedroom bay lake view tower. Is anyone staying there in these rooms in this time frame? I can't believe that one day they are available and the next there not. If we can't get this room, is there another resort that someone could suggest for 4 adults and two kids (13&3). Thanks for any input!

we are going to be at CR those exact dates, but we are in the tower with the MK Park view, and it's only 2 of us

Thanks everyone for all the great info! You all have a top notch thread going on over here I will be tuned in until our Christmas trip this Dec, so looking forward to lots of reviews on The Wave and the Chef Mickey Express! We have a Tower Bay View and are super excited now!!!

The only WDW Resort with a Photo Pass station is located at the Grand Floridian, which is located just to the right where you would exit when coming off the Monorail.

Just wanted to add my two cents...when we went to Kona a few weeks ago, I'm pretty sure Poly has a Photopass counter now. Located by the monorail entrance, across from the coffee spot. So, maybe CR will get one soon! Wouldn't that be awesome!!!!

You're welcome and to answer your question, the Contemporary opened on October 1st, 1971. So the same day Walt Disney World opened.

If you are correct that the Polynesian does have a PhotoPass counter, I would also hope that the Contemporary would be getting one.

Hello all! I have only posted a few times, but i have a quick question. My fiance and I are honeymooning at the contemporary in November of this year. I am pretty awful at planning and researching trips, but i did manage to get the platinum package and we are staying concierge level when we arrive. My question, Is concierge suppose to e-mail me with information or do they contact me with information? How does concierge work? And any advice on the resort or stay would be wonderful!

My question..we usually bring/pick up some cereal at the "mercantile" at our resort along with some milk and eat breakfast in our room. Is there a place that sells breakfast offerings like boxed cereal, 1/2 gallons of milk/ 1/2 and 1/2 for coffee etc. in the CR?

I'm not sure the CR sells boxes of cereal. There is a store on the 4th floor that sold 1/2 gallons of whole and 1% milk. No 1/2 and 1/2 (I didn't see it for sale anywhere on site). There are other breakfast foods at the CR store, donuts, bagels etc. The food selection is not as extensive as the Merchantile at the WL because the CR doesn't (yet) have the villas found at WL.

When I stayed at the CR in December, the Tempo Grab and Go place on the 4th floor had the small boxes of cereal in the morning. The Concourse Sundries and Spirts store on the 4th floor has milk, OJ, ect.

If the Contemporary IPO Cast Members have not contacted you, I would suggest to either call them or e-mail them. Their contact information should be located on the very 1st post back on page 1 where it says Concierge services.

I am considering CR along with the Epcot resorts.

Does anyone know if the "construction" will be done by late May 2009?

Anything else that will be different by then?

Any construction that is to happen inside of the Tower like the opening of Chef Mickey's Express will be finished way before May 2009, however I would think they would still be working on the Bay Lake Tower.

I booked my trip right on the Disney site and never even considered that there could be any kind of deals or discounts. after reading this, I see that a lot of people use AAA discounts. My mom, who is on our reservations is a AAA member, is it too late to get any kind of discount?

My other ? is how can i request a certain floor. I see that many of you prerequest a floor or room. We are opting for a bay view as my mom and i want a relaxing non-theme park view at the end of the day. I would like to be as high up as possible. How do I put in a request? Thanks!

If you want to be as high as possible put a request in for the 11th floor and to do that just call CRO and tell them. Just remember it's only a request so either they will be able to honor it, or they might not be able to.

Hey Everyone!

Just found this thread..didn't know there was one totally dedicated to the Contemporary..COOL!

We'll be there Dec.30th - Jan.5th...Tower..MK View!! This will be our first ever New Years trip, and I couldn't think of a better place to stay.

We haven't stayed at the Contemporary in years (don't really know why! ) , but it used to be our very favorite Resort.

Has THE best view in all the World..IMHO! What could be better than falling asleep with Cinderella Castle as your nightlight?

Anybody here ever been for New Years Eve?

From my understanding..the parks are WAY crowded, but we've been enough times that I think we'll be totally OK just enjoying the festivities!
I am hoping that things may at least slow down a little sometime before we leave so we can get in a few rides/shows.

Oh..and does anybody else miss the character voices in the elevator?

I know I'm a super dork..but I really wish they would change that back!
