did find some info in the UG as to selecting a room-they have it broken down by room #, need to go back & find the resort layout (believe i saw it somewhere here?) to see where the mentioned rooms r located.
I am assuming that UG is the unofficial guide, I have an older copy and didn't see room # specifics, but I'd be interested in any info on that topic you feel like sharing. We have a garden view/ garden wing room again, now that BIL is coming we will need 3 rooms.
I'd prefer to have a balcony or patio as we actually use that space in our room, so if we have one sleeeping we can take the other one out on the balcony patio to keep them from disturbing the others. The only request we have in is to get the rooms together.
Allthough the obnoxious inner me (although I WOULD NEVER ASK and thank goodness the inner me stays inner) wants :mic: :
Rooms close together, near the tower, near the pools, quiet, and if they could throw me a free upgrade Wow would I be grateful:rotfl2: Just call me :princess:

Just so you know, the Garden Wing rooms do NOT have balconies at all. Only the ground floor rooms have patios, and they are "shared" with your neighbors (i.e., no dividers between the patios on the ground floors).

The 2nd and 3rd floor rooms in the Garden Wings do not even have windows/doors that open up at all. It looks like a slider that would open, but it does not. Just so you are aware.

Just had my reservation changed to the Contemporary for Sept 2009. Got the military discount:cool1: Are there any updated room service menus? Allearsnet is from 07.......

What kinds of things can you do with the in room computers?
Some of the room service menu has changed since the opening of The Wave, so you would know right away when reading some of their items.

As for the computers besides having the free high speed internet you can also request things from housekeeping, request bell service and a lot more things.

The room service menu for the CR is now on the computer (online concierge). You can preorder breakfast the day before you want it delivered.

In addition to ordering room service, you cany also request housekeeping items such as extra pillows, blankets, shampoo, soap, etc.

When I stayed there this past December, I had planned to copy the menu and send it to Allearsnet but it was too difficult to do with there not being a hard copy of it in the room.

Have fun!

I'm not 100% sure that this is accurate. I stayed in the south garden wing a few years ago and seems like I remember the the glass door did slide open.

Should you request something from Housekeeping no matter the time don't be surprised to have it arrive like 15-20 minutes later. Last month when my family and I were there after 11:00 PM just wanting to test out the system I put down a requets for more shampoo and 15 minutes later there was a Cast Member at our door with them. Now we had done that before but always in the afternoon, so I was surprised to see them still doing these requests that late at night.

Next time you should copy and paste it off the computer and then e-mail it yourself.

yikes, i thought they had the small step out balconies on 2nd & 3rd floors (ala the Disneyland hotel?)

Thanks a bunch for the balcony/patio info. I guess we will be requesting 1st floor then::yes:: Now I really wish I were still in the tower:sad:, but MIL and FIL are treating and I wouldn't dream of offending such a generous offer and how much sweeter to have my BIL in the mix.
I can have fun if we are staying in a broom closet, so not overly worried. I do think that it is interesting how much this gang remembers. I have stayed numerous times at the Poly and other resorts it always seems others remember stuff I forget or I get the stuff at one resort mixed up with another. So I am thrilled that you all remember the finer points! Thank you oodles of noodles

What's the status of the pool renovations?

the main pool was operating as usual. In fact I took a nap in a lounge chair:) the quiet pool was fenced off but I didn't take a close look to see what they were doing to it...

I guess they decided to change things around and start by renovating the quiet pool, because I assumed the main pool would be closed and the quiet pool would still be opened.

Yikes!!! I hope the main pool, renovated or not, is open late March/early April!!!

Sorry, didn't find this thru search,

Does anyone know if you can have turn down service, if not staying in suites or concerige? Tower or garden?

Bummer, about the pool. Hope they get working so done on time. Anyone got pictures of pool work?

Thanks, mky

You can request it, however it does not mean you will actually get it.

not sure if I follow you. If available > and you call are you saying they just don't show up? Or, is it that when you call, they tell you we don't do that unless your concerige? I have done it at the Poly in all room types with no problem. Have done it at CR in tower, but never in wing. I know housekeeping has been an issue at CR or at least when I have been there. Is that the problem?

thanks, mky
