If you have a reservation for the California Grill, you can go up and watch the fireworks. If you have an MK view, you watch directly from your room. There is also an observation deck on the fourth floor, directly under where the monorail enters the building, where you can watch. I also remember reading somewhere that the bus stop doesn't have a half bad view of the fireworks.

I was finally able to get a 3rd night on my ressie in the Tower-MK view WITH my AAA discount too!!!

Oh my gosh, I've been calling for so many days, multiple times per day. First, I could only get 2N in the tower but I grabbed them. Then I got a 3rd night but it was Tower Bayview. Still, I took it. Today I was FINALLY able to add a 3rd night to my original MK View ressie!! This is our first time staying at CR and it is a dream come true! I put on the ressie how we're celebrating dd's 6th bday but it is also where we are celebrating our 12th wedding anniv. I am on !!!

Hope everyone had a nice Halloween and enjoys a great weekend!!!! Oh, and I should mention since I made a cancellation of the other ressie a Tower Bayview Room at AAA discount has JUST been released back into the system for Sunday, 11/30 if anyone is interested!!!

Very Soon My mom will call Contemporary very soon to have the Tower Magic kingdom view. Oh! they have tv in the lobby so we can check-in? and What time is check-in and check-out!

My apologies, as I am sure that these questions have already been asked and answered, but here goes:

1. Can you use the computers in the rooms to upload photos each day to Photobucket?

2. Please explain to me the timing and schedule of the Resort Express monorail vs. general monorail. I will be at CR in March if that makes a difference.

3. I am attending a convention in mid-March and have a conference rate. Obviously peak travel time. I have requested a MK Tower view. Do I have any slim hope of this? Do they upgrade convention attendees before or after other guests, or does this even matter?

I assume in March the hotel will be sold out or close to sold out. Does this mean my chances will be better or worse for an upgrade?

1. Photobucket is one of the sites that is blocked on the in room computers.

2. The only Monorail you will be able to take from the 4th floor is the Resort Monorail, because the Express Monorail just goes right threw without stopping. However one usually comes every 3-5 minutes.

3. I have never stayed at the Contemporary for a convention so I am not sure how things work with the rooms, but if you have a request for a Magic Kingdom View hopefully they will be able to honor it. Just remember it's nothing more then a request.

I don't know what you mean in your first question. As to the MK view ... at Contemporary, Magic Kingdom view is a separate room category that must be reserved and paid for; a Magic Kingdom view room is much more expensive than a room that does not face the Magic Kingdom.

Also, those rooms get filled very very fast. If your trip is just a few months away, it is VERY unlikely that you'll get a MK view room, let alone any room at Contemporary at all. Contemporary tends to sell out very quickly, and quite far in advance.

Yes the Contemporary Grounds is located in the lobby by the elevators, towards the doors that lead out to the convention center.

Ok, first off I'm a total newbie so please bear with me lol
I'm going to be staying at the CR next Halloween. So far I'm finding out most of my info ok, but I'm getting a little confused about the monorail system. I know it's close to the MK, but what about Epcot, Downtown Disney, Hollywood Studios, etc.? For some reason I'm having a hard time finding out which places I should drive to/take the bus/etc.

Is there like a monorail map or anything I should be aware of?

When going to Epcot you take the Monorail one stop to the TTC, get off there and switch to the Epcot Monorail. When going to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney just take the Disney Transport buses from the Contemporary. Finally there is no Monorail map, however here is the route for it after it leaves the Contemporary. TTC, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom and back to the Contemporary.

Thank you for posting that link. For as many times as I have ridden the monorail (and have always gotten to my destination on the 1st attempt), it wasn't until I consulted that map that I understood the difference btwn the resort and express lines. (I always thought the express was the resort line for some reason and that the express line didn't stop at TTC!)

As to #1, I don't think anyone else answered you, but I'd say no. The computers at the CR don't have access any kind of file management. I think some people have successfully used some other photo services.

As to #3, when I booked my convention for June, I asked where they typically place the attendees. They said all over--garden wing and tower. I asked them to put in a tower MK view in for me, and they did. I understood that it was only a request. Each time I called, I verified that they still had my request in. Finally, a few days before I left, I check my reservation online and it said tower MK view! I really thought it was a long shot, but we got it at the convention rate for 9 nights, even during super-busy June. So there is a chance!

Work with the group reservation people--they are very nice and helpful!
