As to #3, when I booked my convention for June, I asked where they typically place the attendees. They said all over--garden wing and tower. I asked them to put in a tower MK view in for me, and they did. I understood that it was only a request. Each time I called, I verified that they still had my request in. Finally, a few days before I left, I check my reservation online and it said tower MK view! I really thought it was a long shot, but we got it at the convention rate for 9 nights, even during super-busy June. So there is a chance!

Work with the group reservation people--they are very nice and helpful!

Oh wow - thanks for allowing me to keep dreaming! I will still be thrilled with my CR GV room, but I would literally be dancing on the beds if I could score a MK Tower room!;)

When going to Epcot you take the Monorail one stop to the TTC, get off there and switch to the Epcot Monorail. When going to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney just take the Disney Transport buses from the Contemporary. Finally there is no Monorail map, however here is the route for it after it leaves the Contemporary. TTC, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom and back to the Contemporary.

Does the bus for DTD go direct from the CR or do you have to go to get the monorail to TTC & then get the bus? Thanks in advance.:santa:

The buses to Downtown Disney go directly there however after leaving the Contemporary they will 1st stop to pick up guests at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian, since those Resorts share bus service with the Contemporary.

Thanks for confirming. I thought I had read somewhere that the DTD bus didn't start running until 4.30.

Thanks very much!~:rotfl:

There's a map of the monorail system here:
And thank you for the link!:) Now I've got a little bit better of an idea of what's going on.

YAY!!!:woohoo:

So excited I finally go some of my New Years reservation converted to the AP discount!

I had to do 2 separate reservations..one for Dec.30th-Jan 2nd..and then Jan. 2nd-Jan. 4th.

Saved me right at $197.00!:)

Now if I can just add on the night of the 4th I'll be all set. For some reason I am just having no luck getting that one night.:confused3

On a side note..anyone have any clue how hard it will be to get back into MK for the Extra Magic Hour on Dec. 30th?

Our plan is to head back to the room with our group to watch the
11:50pm fireworks from our balcony, maybe order some snacks and cocktails from room service, and then walk back over to MK some time later. I still can't believe MK will be open till 4:00 am!!!

Hi,
Jumping on board this thread...staying at the CR next Halloween & also celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary. I booked MK view tower with an AAA rate, room only. How have any of you faired during this time frame with AP or general public rates for CR tower? AAA is a decent discount but an Ap rate or visa.general public rate would be great. And I know we will want dining included as well. Thanks!

Also anything I should request as far as room location etc?

If you want to stay as high as possible request a room on the 11th floor since it's the highest non Club Leve floor in the Tower and try to ask for room #4748 because it would be the closest room to the Magic Kingdom on that floor.

Thanks for the info...:thumbsup2

Has anyone stayed at the contemporary within the past week? Is there an updated status on the quick service restaurant? Just looking forward to our stay next month. :santa:

yeah! I can't wait to stay in the Contemporary next year for my birthday in January!

I put new pics on my site, but I was told that the quick serve restaurant now has an opening date of November 15th. (it certainly could end up being earlier - I'll be there a lot during that time period and will be checking occasionally).

It's been fun hanging out here with you guys, but I'm afraid I must go. In February, instead of 4 nights at Coronado Springs and 3 nights in a Contemporary Tower - Theme Park view room, I'm taking advantage of the new buy 4/get 3 deal to get all 7 nights in a Theme park view room in Polynesian for the same price!!!

My Tower-Theme Park view room was sold out on the other nights of my week, with or without the discount code.

Hey, I just switched from ASMu Family Suites to CR Theme Park view, only $200 more due to the Stay 4 get 3 deal!!:cool1:

Question: Will the main pool (w/slide) be open March 29-April4? I know it's scheduled for rehab. Any other rehabs at CR during that time? Will all of the inside work (Chef Mickeys, Tempo, etc.) be done by then?

Thanks.
