Hey all...my first time posting, but I love reading all the tidbits on this site!
We have ressies for CS for Sept 27-Oct 4. My sister is a nurse and the neonatal nurses convention just happens to be at CS this year, so originally it was my sister, mom, myself and my little boy (will be 20 months when we go), staying in one room. Well, we started to get worried about DS having naps or sleeping at night with all of us in the room with him (started having nightmares about the 3 of us standing outside in the hallway with the mosquitos while DS fell asleep!), so we looked into getting a second room. Well now it turns out my hubby and my father have decided to come too, so I called to book a second package on the 5+2 and they were SOLD OUT!! Luckily I had a great CM at CRO who tried everything to get it, but in the end told me to keep calling back every day for the next 11 days until the promo is over and maybe there might be a cancellation, and to call early in the am as they put the room inventory back into the computer at night. Well, lucky us, I called first thing the next day and sure enough, there was a cancellation and they altered our second reservation to the 5+2!!
Anyways, on to my question....they have linked our 2 reservations together, and have put down that we would like interconnecting rooms, Cabanas 9B and non-smoking (also the crib and the fridge in the original res). We paid to have water-view rooms. I'm wondering what are the odds of getting this? We've never stayed at CS, so I don't know if they even have interconnecting rooms in 9B. It is important for us to be as close together as possible, so we can put DS to bed and all pile in the other room to chat, watch TV etc, so he can go to sleep in peace (I'm bringing the baby monitor to listen in on him). I guess it wouldn't be too bad if the rooms are a few away from eachother, but definitely not across the resort from eachother!!
My dad would also like to REALLY know how far we are from the pool (Dig site and quiet pool) as they are only used to CBR (Jamaica and Aruba) and having the pool almost outside their door!
And my sister would like to know if anyone has attended a conference here, and how the food is for conference attendees?
Am I missing anything else? Any tips for travelling with a little one? This is his first trip longer that about 3 hours (we're flying from Buffalo), and he's an angel as far as sleeping in his own room but isn't used to sleeping in his stroller (we're trying to mall train him for that...not working so good...). Thank god the cribs are the pack n' play playpens which he is used to sleeping in at my moms!
Thanks for all the tips and advice!!
Tracey
