My dd and I will be staying at CSR for the first time next week. I would like to fax a request for a quiet, standard room without a view of the parking lot. I like trees and flowers and fountains, so was thinking Casitas.....any suggestions on that and which one? Are upper floors quieter than lower?(I am a light sleeper!) Thanks.

HI,

I AM STAYING AT CSR ON 7/4-7/14, I REQUESTED CABANA 9B WATER VIEW, DO YOU KNOW IF THE FIRST FLOOR HAS DOORS TO THE OUTSIDE.
THANKS
DIANE:confused:

All the rooms at Coronado Springs have exterior doors. Meaning, you enter your room from the outside. There are no interior corridors at CSR. There are no patios or balconies.

Have fun on your trip!

I would definitely ask for an upper floor. Generally speaking the higher the floor, the less noise and fewer people walking by your room. Perhaps you could just request: Casita, highest floor available, best view possible. Something like that?

Turndown and robes at CSR??? Were you in a suite or regular room???

We were in a regular room, but for whatever reason we were treated as VIP's. Maybe because it was our 4th trip back in 12 months or because we have AP's. Having never stayed there before, I didn't realize until we got back that this wasn't normally done for everyone.

I am making reservations to go back in October after our Disney Magic cruise and am anxious to see if it happens again. Even if we hadn't had those extras, we still loved the resort and felt you do have the feel of a deluxe not a moderate.

We are stay at the CS from 8/11 to 8/17. All of these posts have been a great asset.

I was planning on taking a town car from the airport (with a quick grocery stop).

I am concerned that maybe I should rent a car instead so I have a car available during our stay. I would really like to visit the other resorts in the evenings, and I hear that it is a nightmare using Disney transportation.

I also heard I could just take a cab.

Suggestions?

Tom

Tom,

Even thouht I'm not answering your question. I just want to say from one Diser to another that our family will be staying at the CSR from 8/9-8/21. Hope to see you there.

Hi Tom,

We always used towncar service on our stays at CSR but we rarely ventured to many of the other resorts outside of the Yacht Club for dinner. That time we just went to MGM and took the boat over. I guess it depends on where you want to go. You can always take a bus to a park and then hop on the resort bus of your choice if renting a car is not appealing to you.

On our last trip to CSR in April, we drove down from CT and to be honest, it was nice to have the car with me when I went to the Contemporary for pin trading or to the Boardwalk to use the Int'l Gateway into Epcot for Illuminations.

Have a great trip!

Thanks for the note Kimickey. Maybe we'll see you there!

Thanks for the advice Buzz. I LOVE your web site. Very Handy.

- you note on your page that early entry is gone and is replaced by character caravan. Didn't they re-open early entry and end character caravan??

- when you order an in-room fridge, where the heck do they put it? I have put in my request for one (and requested cabana 9b).

-- Totally off subject:
How do I put one of those cool count down things on my signature panel? Couldn't find that in the FAQ.

Thanks for the heads up. Guess its time for me to do some updating.

They eithe put it under the sink area or next to the dresser/tv stand. Plenty of room.

Mario,

How can we find out about turndown service and robes??? I would request turndown if they have it, but would feel silly doing this at a moderate unless I knew for sure!

It's been a couple days and I didn't see any replys to my questions. The first post was a bit long, so I'll be more brief with my questions.

1. Are the quiet pools at CSR heated?
2. What are the dig site hours in December?
3. What are the convention trends in Mid Dember (crowded, some activity, very slow)?

Thanks,
G4L

Susy - I remember awhile back that this used to be offered at CSR but I thought I remember reading it was discontinued. I'm not 100% sure though. You can call CSR directly and ask.

Sorry that no one has gotten to your questions yet gtrist4life! I've been busy studying for my final set of High School Exams! Anyways, as of Wednesday I'll be posting on here a lot more!

Ok so answers:

1. I'm pretty sure that the quiet pools are heated

2. The Dig Site hours vary throughout the year, I've never been in December before, but based on the typical weather, I'd say that it probably closes earlier than in the summer. In the summer it is often open till 10pm or even midnight. But not many would take advantage of night swimming in December. But that is just my best educated guess. You may want to call the resort a week or two before you arrive. They should be able to tell you.

3. As far as convention trends go, I've stayed at CSR 5 times (the 6th time fast approaching in August! Yay!) and i have NEVER *knock on wood* been inconveinienced by conventions, but there have ALWAYS been conventions there when I was staying there. I dislike it when people that claim the fact that there are conventions makes the stay less magical. Once again, I can't answer your question with a definite answer, but from my personal experience, I've never been effected by those at conventions at CSR.

I too will be coming in to CSR in December (11th-18th). What is the "typical" weather like that time of year?? www.weather.com says 73 degrees, but that's like on a 30 or 100 year average? I want the kids to use the pool & be able to visit the water parks. Can that happen in your "average" December? Or will we just huddle in the jacuzzi?

Be prepared for cold weather. Yes the pools are heated but the air will be cold. This is typically sweatshirt and jacket weather-unless of course there is a warm spell.
I know when my aunt and her family went down in November they were freezing once they stepped out of the warm water of the pools. I don't know if a water park would be suitable at that time of year unless the daytime temp was definitely in the 70s.
The giant whirlpool at CSR would be fun though ;)

Well, I guess that gtrist4life and I can pray for "warm" weather that week. ;) But the jacuzzi will be great either way. :p Thanks for the weather info.

We just got back on fri.
and yes it is everything that it is said to be.
We will now stay at CSR everytime we visit.
We are converts to CSR

We went during the first week in Decemeber of 2001 and the weather was great! It was warm enough to swim at night. We enjoyed going at that time of year so much that we say that we aren't going to go at any other time. There were no lines except for our last day at MGM and like I said the weather was great!

Yay!! We've converted another ;)

Mulgar, I'm very glad you had such a good stay! We felt that same way you did the first time we stayed at CSR!!
