This is what it says on "all ears net":

"The Jaguar Slide at Coronado Springs Resort's Dig Site will be closed on November 26 - December 14, 2007. Only the slide will be closed; the pool will remain open. "

We are going form Nov. 29 - Dec. 9. So according to this the slide won't be open at all during our stay.

We're going Nov. 29-Dec 4, so we'll be out of luck as well. Very disappointing. :sad1: I'd ask if they'd suspend the no-pool-hopping rule considering the circumstances, but since they're keeping the pool open, I'm not optimistic.

March 1982: off grounds
April 1990 (honeymoon): Grand Floridian
March 2003: Port Orleans French Quarter
December 2003: Polynesian
Nov/Dec 2007: Coronado Springs

We are very disappointed about this too! Had we known ahead of time, we would have stayed at our other choice. The kids were SO EXCITED about the slide!!!

I just saw on the rehab site that CSR was on the list. Does anyone know if rooms at CSR are currently being refurbished? If so, do you know which rooms are already refurbed? Will be down there over Thanksgiving and would like to have a refurbished room, if possible.
Thanks!

I don't think it is the rooms i do believe it is the Bar they are expanding it and I think it is near completion from what i understand.

We are leaving for our stay at CSR in less than twelve hours and I need to know if the a/c units there have the motion sensors and if there's a way to overide them? I thought I remember seeing something about that on this thread but I cannot seem to find it now. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

On the thermostat, push the power button and the down arrow (button that adjusts the temp) at the exact same time. If you do this correctly, you will see the letters "bp" where the temp normally shows. You are now bypassing the sensors in the room. You can then set the temp to whatever you want and it keeps the room that cold whether you are in it or not. The maintenance man said that you might have to do this once a day as the thermostat tends to go back to sensor mode after 24 hours. We found that it stayed on bypass for a couple of days at a time. It was great to come back to a cold room or not wake up in the middle of the night in a sweat again. The CM that did this for us said it was not a problem doing this as they do it for people all the time.

Thanks so much Buzz! I knew I could count on you. By friday this time we will be in our rooms enjoying your wonderful CSR. We'll be sure to take care of it for you. Thanks again.

Hey all !

After reading all the great reviews and information about the CSR... I decided to book a room there for my family vacation in Mid-January '08.

This is our first trip to WDW and although it’s nearly 3 months away... I am already getting very excited! (have not told my kids yet!)

I have a small deposit on a Water View Room, 7 Day Park Tickets and Dining Plan (the one with 1 TS, 1 CS and snack).

We decided not to rent a car…We will be using DME too. I thought it would be cool to try and "live" without a car and experience the park 100% of the time. I also think it will be less stressful. (any comments on this... I still have plenty of time to rent a car).

Any comments on what we need to do next… (When I booked the trip through Disney… the representative told me I need to make some dinner reservations… but have not even thought of the food yet).

Thanks in advance for any advice!

In September we stayed @ CSR . It was the first time we did not rent a car.
We managed very well on Disney transportation.
I was worried because we had late night ADRs @ Boma etc. But it was no problem getting back to the resort. The DTD bus driver dropped us off at CSR on his way to DTD. We stayed 10 days and completely relied on Disney transportation. It was great!!!

Did any mention that CSR has not been added to the 2008 DDP yet? Everyone is anxiously awaiting the final list of DDP locations to come out.

I am sure you will have a wonderful time at CSR as I am anxiously waiting for my trip arrival date to come as well. 35 more days for me!! I have never rented a car and have always relied upon DME and disney transportation- never have experienced any problems- they are awesome. You said that you have the dining plan and the only thing that I would suggest now:

Make those dinner or breakfast ressies right away as the times fill up fast. This can be your homework for now. Have you purchased your airline tickets or is that part of your package?

I've heard of a few people booking what I think is called a bounce back reservation. Can someone explain exactly what this is and how to take advantage of it? I'll be going the end of next March and also don't know if it would be available at that time. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes... Planning the meals is next on my list. I also need to figure out what we are doing each day.

This is our first time going to DW (or any Disney for that matter). So it is all a bit overwhelming.. Glad we have this forum and the next couple months to plan all this.

As for dinner.. Are there any "must eat at" places?

I purchased the room and tickets through Disney by phone and I got my air tickets myself.

THANKS!

When you stay at a resort, they offer you to book a vacation for the following year at a discounted rate. I think it is even for the same time period.

Yes it can be overwhelming going your first time. If you have time stay on these boards- you will learn alot. Also try visiting the allearsnet.com website- they have great photos and also menus for each restaurant at disney. They also have a list for all of the restaurants that take the dining plan- you will find alot of choices.

For kids I would choose a character dinner or breakfast like Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary- great for kids and adults alike. If you are sports fans try the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk- awesome food!

They offered a bounceback program this past september and I believe it ran into early October as well. This gave you a chance to book a trip for next september that would include the free dining promo again. You had to put a 200 dollar deposit down. I believe alot of people took advantage of this program as I would of did the same.

We too would have booked another resort if we had known the pool slide was going to be down. :sad1:

This past week we arranged for a pizza and grocery delivery. In both instances, the delivery person was not allowed to our room, and left their delivery with Bell Services in the Lobby. The pizza delivery guy called us so that we could go get it from him, but our groceries sat in storage several hours as we waited patiently past the delivery window (no one called us).

Is this new standard procedure? We had delivery to our room every year before.

We had a grocery delivery directly to our room in August. We used Gardengrocer.com . DH arranged the delivery over the phone since I was out with one of the kids, so I don't know specifics. I do know that they came right to our room.
