I don't remember them having caffine free soda in Pepper Market (but I did see it in cans in the shop. The fax number for the Coronado is: 407-939-1001

Buzz, my wife and I just came back from 6 days at the Coronado Springs Resort. (Oct. 6-12, 2007). I booked my travel package through AAA in mid-September of 2006. I requested a king bed with a water view in Cabanas 9B or 9A. We received Cabanas 8b. Even though alittle more walking to El Centro, much closer to the Dig Site, and the quiet pool of the Cabanas. The view from our first floor room was fantastic, both in the morning and evening. We both love the resort, the service of the staff, and the refillable mugs.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Coronado Springs Resort.

Glad to hear it! Welcome back!! I'll be going back in Feb. 2008.

Both sections are equally close to a bus stop. The cabana section has better proximity to everything. Here are some building good choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. (Most convenient location and most preferred)

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool (and is the old smoking optional building).

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

thank you Buzz! Now it seems the Casitas look prettier from the outside - but we may still try for cabana 9B

I will be staying at the CS the first week of December with my kids ages 6 and 3, and my DH. We have not requested a specific area because I didn't feel it was necessary to do so. We will be driving from our home so being close to the bus won't matter as we will ahve our own car. Am I missing something by not doing this? We don't plan to go to the pool but maybe once or twice if the weather permits as we are hoping to spend most of our time in the parks and in DTD in the evenings. Any suggestions or should I just let it go and be happy to be staying there, which I am, since I was upgraded from a value:) Thanks!

You'll be fine. The pool is centrally located but the main building can be a hike if you are in the rancho section. But with your car you can drive, walk or take the internal shuttle. See the post above yours to see the buildings I recommend.

I just read on another thread about the frequency of getting "walked" to another resort, ie resort oversold and no rooms left. Do they treat Coronado differently because of the convention hotel status? I need the business center while I am there and we will be there 10 nights, does that diminish my chance of getting walked? We will be arriving close to midnight, I heard that really ups our odds of them running out of rooms. Has this happened to anyone? What have you heard??

Ok, I have a question which even if considered silly by some, I hope is at least original to this thread. I've been going over the pros and cons of each building before I put in a request. Although I see that Cabanas 9B is typically the most requested due to location, I'm noticing that the views from this building have a swampy type of body of water outside. I'm going on this trip with my mom who is INSANELY afraid of snakes and although I realize you could come across one of these critters anywhere, it seems like that area would be ideal for them. Can anyone confirm or deny this way of thinking? Otherwise, I'm thinking the Casitas look very nice.

Hi Buzz and any other CSR experts,
I would also like to know the answer to the snake(EEK!!!) question and the getting walked question (sorry I don't know how to quote two posts). If you are moved to a different resort do you receive the same level or better? I would hope that we wouldn't be downgraded?? We are soooooooooo EXCITED about CSR in December as the pics of their decorations look
beautiful:cheer2: . Thanks in advance:flower3:

PS The unofficial website if fantastic....really above and beyond!!

Don't know about snakes. We've never stayed in the Cabanas. We always stay in the Casitas--either building 4 or 5 and always get a lovely view of Lago (Lake) Dorado, and it is close to the Quiet Pool and the Spa. A walk to El Centro took me about 5 minutes and the same to the Dig Site (now I am what my husband calls a fast walker). I hope this helps.

Cabana 9b is not bordered by a swampy area, it has the small lake behind it and the large lake in the front. But I do remember reading one post were someone mentioned they ran into a snake at CSR and I think it was at cabana 9b.

How long does it take to go from CSR to Downtown Disney by bus?

If we decide to take a taxi, what is the cost?

Thanks!!
