We always request Cabana's and we are 3 for 3 in getting what we want. I also fax a room request to the resort about 3 days before check in and humbly request it as well. We've been pleased with our assignments each time. We've actually been in the same Cabana building all 3 stays.

As for the lounge - it was not completed as of 10/6 when we left. Still all walled off. But the Laguna bar by the lake is open, and the pool bar is great too (Max one of the bartender's at the pool bar makes a great rum runner!)

Have fun!

First of all i know that room requests are exactly that, requests, but should i try and contact CSR before we go in Dec?We booked through VH and i emailed them a request which they said that they had passed on.Should i leave it at that or contact them myself?
You should make sure the building you want to request is on your initial reservation. If you already booked your room, you should call CRO and add your request to your existing ressie.

I cannot believe we check in tomorrow!! Hope the drive up the turnpike goes nice and smooth. Thanks Buzz for all of your helpful info, including the responses of others to this thread. I can't wait to explore the resort.

Does anyone know if Francisco's opened back up yet?

I've got some paperwork from Virgin which saysthat my request for a room in the Cabanas is confirmed, but of course it is just a request.Should i therefore still contact them?We aren't after much, just a top floor room if possible.

You're seated by a host/hostess. A server will take your drink order and ask if you've been here before. Then you go up and pick you dining choices. The server buses your table and gets you refills. They use real silverware and cloth napkins. Check out the back of the card.

Thank you so much for posting this! Pepper Market makes complete sense now. I kind of like the idea of not having to search around for a table. That can always be so stressful.

Unrelated to PM, I had a question about reserving a room at CSR. Do you find CSR is the hardest moderate to get into due to the conventions? The reason I ask is because we would like to use frequent flier miles to purchase our plane tickets, but the best frequent flier mile deals do not come out until 3-4 months before you want to travel. I wanted to wait to set our travel dates until I knew about our plane tickets, but I do not want to wait too long and then not be able to get a room. Am I making sense?:confused3 I thought about making a tentative reservation around the general time we want to travel and then make changes to it based on the plane tickets, but then I would feel guilty holding up room space someone else might be wanting. :sad2: Any advice?

Thanks!:daisy:

Other than having it on your reservation, the only other thing you can do is fax in your request which seems to be debated on the boards. Calling will do you know good because you will never reach the resort itself. Follow the instructions on allearsnet. http://allearsnet.com/acc/cro1.htm

I just booked two rooms at CSR with the AAA discount for Presidents Day week. Supposedly the busy time at WDW. Had no choice due to club soccer and school vacations. This will make my 10th trip to CSR and I never missed out on a room for any reason. Last April, during spring break/Easter week, I couldn't get a day added on but never have I been shut out completely. Anything is possible but it's never happen to me.

down to 48 days to my first stay at CSR- can't wait!! I have requested Cabana 9B and had them put a note on my ressie but I won't be heartbroken if I don't get it. We are arriving late on 11/29- probably won't get to the resort until around 10pm so I may SOL!!

I have been doing some more reading and research on CSR this evening, and I just have to say that I am sooo bummed that Pepper Market will no longer be a DDP participant in 2008.:sad2:

Don't give up on Pepper Market being in the dining plan next year. They were a late addition this year! :)

That is not definite. Last year the final list of restaurants was not announced until November 15. CSR was a late add on last year as well. We would know for sure until then.

This is good news! I will keep my fingers crossed!

And not to be too much of a bother, but I was wondering about the refrigerators at CSR. I have read that at other resorts, like the Poly, guests are having trouble with the refrigerators overheating and then shutting off. Have the refrigerators at CSR experienced any problems like this? Also how large are the refrigerators? Could you fit a half gallon of milk, water bottles, some cheese, and yogurt without too much problem?

Thanks so much!:daisy:

Never had a problem with overheating. Better to go with two half gallons in the door leaving you all the space inside for other items.

We had 24 bottles of water, 1/2 gallon of milk and yogurt and cheese in our refrigerator in September...no problems.

I read on Buzz's site that you can refill your mugs at 'Pepper Market, Francisco's, La Tienda, Siesta's and the coffee and danish window just to the right of the Pepper Market entrance'....can anyone tell me what they offer at each of these locations?

TIA.
