any more detail on the Kids pool area?? Is the work going to be just painting?

Well--it might work out for me if the Children's Splash area is refurbbing but not the main pool because my DS7 is about 51 inches and would LOVE that dump bucket but if they check height he would be too tall... still hoping it doesnt affect the main pool, and sad for the people with toddlers and younger kids who are just finding out this info now--a few weeks before the trip.

Yes, the lifeguards definitely enforce the height requirement. The Fuentes del Morro Pool is not being refurbished. Just the Fuentes del Morro Water Play area.
Still a bummer for my 5 year old!

I just booked a 3 night stay at CBR for a quick trip in the first week of December. Im traveling with 3 adults and realized that we need queen beds. I know nothing is guaranteed, but its a standard view room, what are the odds that we can get a refurbished room? If its not looking good I need to switch to POFQ which means I lose my passholder discount :(

By that point in time, at least three villages should be completed (Jamaica, Aruba, and Barbados) and they may well have started on Martinique. I would note your request for a refurbished room with a phone call to the central reservations line, a fax 5-7 days ahead, and if you do online check in, pick two of those three villages.

Hello neighbor! Having fun?

Yes, having a great time! It's so humid though. I was planning to stay for EMH at MK tonight but it was so crowded, hot, and sticky that I left before Wishes.

Thanks for the useful photos. Those drawers look pretty worn/dirty considering it's supposed to be a new refurbishment!! Where on earth did they get them from?!

Any chance you can take a photo of the fridge - which I assume is inside the middle cupboard?

The drawers are a tiny bit dusty, but some of those spots are actually from my camera! Yes, the fridge is in the middle cupboard, here's a photo.

I noticed in your picture there is no freezer section in the refrigerator. Does anyone know if any of the fridges have a freezer section. I thought I saw it in an earlier post. It isn't necessary but would be nice to freeze bottles of water to take to the parks so they stay colder longer.

Here now! There is no freezer section. But the fridges do seem to hold a fair amount considering it's size.

Checked in last night and I got a refurbished room! I'm in building 41 which is a little bit of a walk to everything but I don't mind as I like walking. And to top it off, I have a really nice water view that I didn't pay for! I will try to post some pictures in the next couple days. I have a very full day planned today...yay!

Major bummer! I can relate with you there ... our neighbours in what i can only assume was to them a stroke of genius, moved the cat litter box so it sits against a common wall. With all the wet, humid weather we've had this summer it has managed to somehow work it's way to OUR SIDE of the wall. We are not impressed since it means we can no longer have guests since we never know when it will stink!

So yeah, i know how it feels to being in the middle of re-arranged "stuff" that normally sits in the crawl space as i try to arrange the perfect VACA Let's just pray that the sky has dried up! Let me tell you though, all the pics of the renovated rooms have perked me right up!!

Ya, it's just enough to keep me from watching Caribbean Beach videos all day but come October all should be well and I will be back to annoying the Mrs. with minute details about the trip. :cool1:

I tried to read through all of the posts but I can't get a feel. It looks to me that Aruba, Jamaica and Barbados will be refurbished by Thanksgiving, is that right? We are traveling with my parents and my Dad is 89 and we would like a refurbished room near the food area and from what I can tell that would be either Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51, am I right? If so, how long is the walk from those two to the food area.

Also, Martinique 25 and 26 are preferred rooms, is that correct as well?

Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51 will both be refurbished and are the closest standard rooms to OPR, yes. It's about a 2-3 minute walk from them to OPR.

Yes, Martinique 25 and 26 are preferred

Do the fridges still work best when you leave the cupboard door open?

Jamaica 45 is a bit farther away from OPR than 2-3 minutes. More like 5-10, depending on where exactly your room is.

I posted on a separate thread but maybe someone here has in-sights, staying at CBR 2/1-8 and just found there is a national dance competition at WDW and CBR is an option for them to stay, competition is only over the weekend so I'm not sure how this might impact us, any advice?? Help!?? Feel so sad about this so I'm hoping someone might have experience, guessing they're quieter then the cheerleading competitions, still want to make sure I switch when I can...:confused3

There are some rooms that have the murphy bed complete in Jamaica now, and people have been staying in them, however, Disney has not made them actually available to book as yet. Those who have stayed in them have just been lucky. For now the only option is still POR for 5, but I do believe someone said many pages back that a CM on the phone said they should be able to book them toward the end of the year if I remember correctly.

We just got back and had a room with a Murphy bed in Jamaica. I mentioned in a previous post that I like the refurb but wish they had kept a more Caribbean color scheme.....too much brown for me. The room was clean though, new carpet, etc.....just looked and felt better than the dated rooms from years past. Not sure how long the entire rehab will take but I know this, the construction crews work 7 days a week!!!

I miss it so much right now....:(

I doubt Barbados will be completed in its entirety by the end of November, but I'm sure some of it will be open. It's a fair old walk from OPR, though.

24, 25 and 26 are all preferred (we stayed in 25, and it was brilliant). But I agree about the distance - it was 2-3 minutes (on a walking stick) from our courtyard room in 25 to OPR, so it'll be at least double that across the lake!

We found that if you jack the fridge up to its maximum setting and put stuff right at the back, it does tend to freeze things a bit. It certainly froze the carrot sticks I bought!!!

Pretty much most of the sports/cheerleading/dance teams stay at either Value or Moderate Resorts. You would likely have to call WDW to get further info about the upcoming events.

Not a fan of humidity either...it's been cool back here at home...comfy!

Good afternoon all...

Hubby and I will be spending our 19th Anniversary at the World from Sept. 28-Oct. 9, 2015 (please add us to the roll call). When I called and booked, I booked a package for rooms and tickets (Magic Your Way Package). Does anyone know if a FD offer comes out do I have to cancel my current package and start all over with a new reservation number, or can my current reservation number still be used? It looks like I'm supposed to start booking my dining in April but I don't want to go thru all that effort if it just gets "wiped" with a new reservation.

Thanks!!

We plan to stay at CBR January 25-29, then hop somewhere else (anywhere else!) for another 4 nights. See below for what you have to look forward to.
