Thanks so much for sharing your family's trip report with all of us!
I really needed that because if you've been following any of my threads, I am pretty wishy-washy and changing my resort like I swore I wouldn't do this yr....I've gone from POLY CL GV to POFQ 2 times this week alone...and I am thinking that I am about to make my switch BACK to the POLY CL GV for my trip with my boys and my best friend...your pics and happy faces say it all!

I will be following your TR with much enthusiasm, it is wonderful to see your family and the absolute joy on your faces!....I guess I can leave the negative nellies in the dust as the rooms look beautiful!

I honestly can't think of one negative thing to say about our room or the Hawaii building. Everything is perfect

MK is dead! Fp return times are like thirty minutes ahead of actual time. We are currently stuck on HM. Lol!!

This past December , my husband and I got stuck on HM almost every time we rode it! Pretty cool though b/c we could take the time to absorb all the little details of the ride that we would normally not notice had we not gotten stuck in the different spots!

thanks for checking on the monorail and cook's schedule. Can you see the new castle from the CL lounge? I have friends going to MNSSHP tonight too, hope the weather is beautiful for your whole vacation. Have fun

According to the CMs here in the Hawaii building you can pretty much count on the monorail starting at 7:00 or 7:15 AM every day. Captain Cook's is open 24 hours but the hot grill for breakfast doesn't start until 7:00 or 8:00 they said, depending on the day. He said to call guest services once you get here and they can give you the exact hours for the hot food.

The "new castle" doesn't show up from the lounge that I can see. In fact we couldn't even see it anywhere in the park except when we were right by it. Near the Pooh ride and near the Carousel. It is a "forced perspective" and not an actual castle like Cinderellas. The restaurant is underneath, you can sort of tell from the pics I just posted, you can see workers standing up there and they are almost the same size as the castle. LOL

Sounds like you are having a great trip. I am glad to here that the monorail hours are always changing, I hope they go back to normal hours soon.

I had no idea about the special 40th anniversary buttons. Can you get them anywhere or only at the Poly? We are staying at BLT in two weeks and would love to get at least one since my DH also turned 40 this year.

I can't wait to hear/see if you find any christmas stuff in MK today.

I'm not sure, they didn't seem to be giving out very many buttons, at least not that I've seen. They were in a drawer in the concierge check-in area.

At MK, it was emh morning but we overslept. Surpringly even being late we are walking on everything. Jungle cruise, potc, splash, thunder. Where is everyone!!???

We have always thought the days when MNSSHP is scheduled MK ---is not filled during the day. If you do not have a hopper guests will not waste an admission ticket when the park closes early or guests wait till 4 pm to enter for MNSSHP.

Where did you take the pics of BEast's castle...from on Dumbo? They are some of the best that I have seen showing the work.
Would you say going to MK on a party day, there are not any crowds?

Sorry I've been MIA, we had a crazy long night at mnsshp and went straight to bed! We slept in the morning, it was raining hard anyway, and now we are headed to AK!

The coffee makers are not k cups. They require little pouches that are single cup size. I haven't tried any , but it looks easy to use. I will take some pics.

Our longest wait so far was Columbia Harbor House for lunch!

We avoid lines, the longest we've seen so far was 90 minutes for Soarin on day one and TSM on day two. But we had fast passes.

That was taken from the ground. We were standing right in front of the Pooh ride.

Yes I would definitely say yesterday was a great day to be at MK. No long waits for anything. Even Peter Pan fp returns were 1:10 pm at noon.
