A BC/CR split seems like the best of both worlds. We love both the BC and WL. There is something really nice about being on Bay Lake. It feels more relaxing there then anywhere else at WDW.
We were at the BC when you arrived on Monday and the wifi worked pretty well for us. I have a feeling that your room location and the dormer room was a big factor. We had a dormer room at the WL once and I really hate the closed in feeling, with the sloped ceiling and the closed balconies. It would be a lot worse with two teenagers.
Is the monorail back to normal yet? It was running fewer trains when we were there.

This is the 3rd night I've had to change our restaurant.
This is a crazy time for everyone... guests and castmembers... all we can do is our best and be as flexible as possible. This entire system is going to go through a lot of changes this year. Inevitably anyone coming to WDW is going to run into an issue of some sort. I'm among the Keep Calm and Carry On crowd.
What do you do with a kid who's ready to leave his country???
But we will be back there soon.
DH and I were just saying we would definitely stay here at the Atrium Club again.
