And then the ride began.

I don’t remember what’s on the ceiling, but apparently it gets your attention.

100_0251.jpg

After the teacups I think we caught Mickey’s Philharmagic. Everyone loved it. Then we went on It’s a Small World, which isn’t my favorite ride, but the kids were at a good age for it, so we’d better take them now. Here are a couple of pictures as we started out.

100_0253.jpg

We were nearing the end of It’s A Small World, when the ride stopped. An announcement came on to let us know that the ride had temporarily stopped and would resume shortly. We sat and sat. The announcement was repeated every so often. I looked at the water trying to judge its depth, as the idea of wading through to the exit, with three kids draped about my shoulders, went through my head. In my vision, Judy had to wade to the end on her own. I couldn’t carry the kids and her too. I was getting restless. Exasperated, I said, “It may be a small world, but it sure is a long way to the exit.” The guy behind me who was sharing our boat, cracked up and said, “Man, you just made my day!” Judy said, “Oh please. Don’t encourage him.” After probably waiting for about 10 minutes, our boats restarted their journey and we were allowed to exit. No wading was necessary.

By this point it was after 1 pm and we were starving. We went to Colombia Harbor House and we bought two chicken meals and two fish meals and split them amongst all of us. (Yes, I have a great memory and can recall these details even years later. ;)) After a nice break at Colombia Harbor House we walked through Frontierland and happened upon the Country Bears leading the crowd in the hokey pokey.

I love this one.

100_0254.jpg

After that, I have a gap with no pictures so I’m not really sure what we did. I think we probably went on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad because Lauren loves that ride. I don’t think we were able to get the other kids to ride it on that trip. I know we didn’t get James to ride it, he was still traumatized from Journey to Atlantis. So I imagine that Lauren got multiple rides, taking advantage of the child swap rule that allows her to re-ride while the parents take turns waiting with the younger kids. I also think we went on Pirates of the Caribbean. I think James had some difficulty with this one since it was dark, but he made it through.

I couldn’t find a receipt to give me a clue as to where we ate dinner that night, but my pictures pick up after dark on the carousel.

From there we left the park and went back to the Vistana.

Dang! I knew you'd put this up, just as I was headed to bed. Will read first thing in my AM!!

Your kids are so adorable! Love the pictures you captured while on the teacups even though the idea of that ride makes me feel sick.

Thankfully you didn't have to wade through the water. That sure would have made for an interesting story! :rolleyes1

very cute pictures.

you know that 50 celebration that was on the castle, when we went in 07 and i think also 08 i remeber seeing it in the back waterway as you on the monorail approaching the MK where they store the electric water parade bardges...i wonder if it is still there.

nice spinning pics, i hope parker will like those, i think it is the daddy duty to take there little ones on that ride.

did i just type "daddy duty"?

huh, wonder how long it will take that to spin into another converstaion.

:lmao:

Great update. The kids are so cute and love the pics of them on the tea cups. Thankfully I don't need to ride that any more but it wasn't to bad 10 years ago but really wouldn't want to try it today. Love how you changed the pic.

I love It's a Small World but sadly my kids don't like it now that they are bigger and will only go on with me if they think they can get something out of it. I really wouldn't be happy stuck on it either but I guess it is better than getting stuck on something else.

LOL! Oh poor Judy! :lmao:

But believe it or not, IASW is the favorite of my sister and my niece, in one of their rides they got stuck for almost for 30 mins in there... but they love the ride so much that when they finally got out they were seriously considering to get in again :rotfl:

Wait! I've done that too but with Haunted Mansion instead

Your kids are so adorable! Love the pictures you captured while on the teacups even though the idea of that ride makes me feel sick.

Thank you. The teacup ride didn't affect me back in '05 when I took these pictures, but it did last year, I was ready to get off!

Thankfully you didn't have to wade through the water. That sure would have made for an interesting story! :rolleyes1

That would've made great TR fodder, but I'm sure Disney would never allow that to happen. They'd get patrons out in a rowboat before they made anybody wade through those murky IASW waters.

Are you saying you saw that 50 year thingee in storage? Maybe they can get rid of it in a yard sale? "Hey Frank look at this. Our golden anniversary is coming up, we should get this -- you can hang it on the house." "Yes dear. Whatever you say. Can it be my gift to you?"

nice spinning pics, i hope parker will like those, i think it is the daddy duty to take there little ones on that ride.

:lmao:

Yes, you did just type that. Jordan should be here any minute. He's got a knack for sniffing out threads with that topic.

You'll definitely have to take Parker on the teacups.

Great update. The kids are so cute and love the pics of them on the tea cups. Thankfully I don't need to ride that any more but it wasn't to bad 10 years ago but really wouldn't want to try it today.

We'll see if the teacups turn out to be a "must do" this year. After feeling woozy from them last year, I'd be okay skipping them.

Love how you changed the pic.

Thanks, I like it too. I haven't done anything with it though, other than post it here.

I love It's a Small World but sadly my kids don't like it now that they are bigger and will only go on with me if they think they can get something out of it. I really wouldn't be happy stuck on it either but I guess it is better than getting stuck on something else.

Wha? Kids trying to get something out of it? I can't believe it. They're all a bunch of con artists, they'll seize any opportunity.

What are you talking about, "poor Judy"? She doesn't realize the entertainment value she gets on a daily basis. She's spoiled, I tell you.

They're real fans.

I did that too -- Christmas day, 1983.

I love seeing pics of your kids when they were younger. James is so darn cute!:goodvibes

Well, if you remember the fact that you had 6 year old receipts for this trip to re-enact it, then I'm sure you remembered exactly what you ate and at what time, and how much it cost too. :lmao::lmao:;);):lmao::lmao:

That little Small World quip was pretty good! Judy's comeback was even better! The whole thing had me snort laughing!

Hokey pokey?? I think I saw the reason (in white shorts with lettering) you liked this particular moment in time. ;):rotfl2:

Good thing that sword isn't real! James would be sporing about 8 less fingers and only 2 half thumbs about now.

Cartoon is GREAT!! Please share how you did that!!!

Get that guy in the blue shirt behind you all an agent. He seems a little over eager! :rotfl2:

James is cleaning up his fashion this time around. Looks like he had the good sense to wear the shirt OVER the shorts today; therefore eliminating heckling from your Peeps. Ah, well, they're all just so gosh darned cute, I coudln't make fun of any of them for too terribly long! :thumbsup2

Great update!

Thanks! I wish we could slow down the growing up.

I had a sentence in there that said something like, "I'm glad I found those receipts so I can give you all of this detail", but I deleted it an inserted the line about my great memory.

And they're only 5 year old receipts.

That little Small World quip was pretty good! Judy's comeback was even better! The whole thing had me snort laughing!

I've heard that some people like to start the day with a snort, but I don't think that's what they meant.

Hokey pokey?? I think I saw the reason (in white shorts with lettering) you liked this particular moment in time. ;):rotfl2:

She looks a little young. I'm not that perverted!

Good thing that sword isn't real! James would be sporing about 8 less fingers and only 2 half thumbs about now.

He'd come home looking like an Amish furniture maker. He clearly wasn't concerned for his safety.

Cartoon is GREAT!! Please share how you did that!!!

I just used the software that came with the Kodak camera. When you edited the pictures it had a "cartoon" setting. You can probably get the same thing by playing with the contrast and color saturation.

Yes, he looked a little more "put together" on this day.

Thanks!

I hate to break it to you, but any receipt over like, I don't know, say 3 months, unless it's a warranty one, is how shall I say this delicately... GARBAGE!!!! :lmao:

I've heard that some people like to start the day with a snort, but I don't think that's what they meant.

No probably not, but I always wondered if things were funnier if one did. I personally wouldn't know. :confused3

She looks a little young. I'm not that perverted!

I saw the hokey pokey part first, and didn't notice the face; my apologies, she is rather young looking. However, having said that, even my own prudish dad has been known to turn a wandering eye at the "hot chicks" in the mall. :rolleyes1 I think it's a Y chromosome things...

He'd come home looking like an Amish furniture maker. He clearly wasn't concerned for his safety.

Kids never are... :sad2:

I just used the software that came with the Kodak camera. When you edited the pictures it had a "cartoon" setting. You can probably get the same thing by playing with the contrast and color saturation.

I'll have to check mine out. I'm not sure I've ever even looked at mine at all. Hmmm...

Which picture?

The 2!!! of them where you are with Mickey Mouse.

My receipts barely survive one day. In fact, I try to get the cashiers to keep them so I don't clutter up my purse. :rolleyes1

I love this one.

100_0254.jpg

I LOVE the spinning pictures, those are some of my fav's from our trip. James is so cute I can hardly stand it.

Yes. Your memory astounds me. That and your receipt keeping. Actually I'm more impressed that those receipts are readable, thermal paper fades...

Judy cracks me up!

Country bear hokey pokey. Does it get any better than that, really?

My receipts barely survive one day. In fact, I try to get the cashiers to keep them so I don't clutter up my purse. :rolleyes1

Totally. Truth be known, I don't balance the checkbook either... I just know, when I'm dangerously close... :rolleyes1 Haven't overdrawn in about 15 years!!

Loving all the updates from the past trips! We love going to SeaWorld in San Antonio. We've been about 3 times with DS but would like to check out the one in Orlando. The last time we were there DS was 4 almost 5 and he actually fed the dolphins. I was surprised that he was not affraid AT ALL. :thumbsup2 We also tried the "Dine with Shamu" thing one evening. That was GREAT!!! You can get some awesome pictures as the Whale's are only about 2-3 feet away from you.

I sent you a PM about our itenerary. I think we actually do cross paths a few times. And if not.....there's always the pool!! I think we may hit the pool after lunch each day.

We have been to Seaworls both in Cleveland Ohio before they closed it and in Orlando !!! With DD being a Dolphin OCD fanatic the hardest thing was getting her out of Dolphin Cove:rotfl2:

candi said it is all me if parker wants to ride the tea cups when i asked her this weekend.

you would be suprised what people buy at yard sales. i am sure someone would think it would make a good anniversary gift.

i bet it is rotting in the sun on some backlot now at disney.

I try to get them to run their credit cards through the machine, but they never go for it.

Aw, thanks!

Yes. Your memory astounds me. That and your receipt keeping. Actually I'm more impressed that those receipts are readable, thermal paper fades...

Let's keep the focus on the astounding memory rather than the receipt keeping. I think there was only 1 receipt I couldn't read.

Judy cracks me up!

Country bear hokey pokey. Does it get any better than that, really?

As they say, that's what it's all about!

Totally. Truth be known, I don't balance the checkbook either... I just know, when I'm dangerously close... :rolleyes1 Haven't overdrawn in about 15 years!!

That's bad. It's not just about overdrawing your checking -- I've found mistakes by the bank in the past. One time we refinanced our house and while we were at the lawyer's office we had to write a check for the difference between the estimate they gave us prior to closing and what the actual turned out to be. It was literally only a few cents, and I started to reach in my pocket for change, but they wanted it done by check. Well, the bank slipped the decimal point over a few notches and debited our checking account for a few hundred dollars. I found it when I reconciled the checkbook. Do you think the lawyer's office would have found it and corrected it? I think not.

I'm glad you're enjoying them. That trip in '05 was the only time my kids have been to Sea World. That's great that your son had such a good time with the dolphins. They're so friendly, they're like a pet dog in the water. "Dine with Shamu" sounds cool.

I sent you a PM about our itenerary. I think we actually do cross paths a few times. And if not.....there's always the pool!! I think we may hit the pool after lunch each day.

Thanks. We will definitely catch up at the pool, if not the parks. :thumbsup2

I believe it, the dolphins are great. I'm glad we ended our day at Sea World with them. It was kind of a mellow way to wind down.

candi said it is all me if parker wants to ride the tea cups when i asked her this weekend.

Sounds like it's going to be a "daddy duty". Good bonding time.
