The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

That's hilarious!!! :lmao:

You're going to have to get a dog so he has someone to blame it on when grampa's not around.
we have one, sometimes he will say it is the dog for different things.

there is also times when he will fart or burp, and candi asks parker if it was him, and he goes "no dada"

so he is already blamming me for stuff.

I was trying to think of something witty to say in return, but I'm laughing too hard to come up with anything. :rotfl:

I said something funny? ;)

I think you're down-playing your super organizational skills.

Must be.

He has already learned the art of a good lie -- keep it believable.

As Han Solo, and just about every other Star Wars character says at one point or another, "I've got a bad feeling about this". "

You and my husband should meet...although maybe not. I don't need any more quoting of Star Wars around the house...he's already got the kids doing it!

I think during that show I took a couple of pictures and then studied the park map. I didn't pay too much attention to what was happening in the show. :guilty:

Was it your husbands idea to get the audio off of your recording so you could listen to it in the car over...and over..., or did the kids ask for it? "

Oh, no, that was all Daddy's idea. The man's too much of a computer geek for his own good...

Ok, now that we're on the subject of capturing audio clips from the parks.... that was a BFP of mine too. Seriously. Because for the last 6 months I've made it my life's mission to find a lot of the music (esp. BGM) to put on my iPod. A lot of it you CANNOT find or buy anywhere. So my idea was just to grab a snack (or drink :rolleyes1) and find a bench near a speaker and set up my camera in the bushes next to the it and hit the audio function. I especially LOVE the music in the Seas area.

I've tried it near my own speakers here at home to test the quality and frankly, it stinks. But hey, it's better than nothing, I suppose.

i knew you would smell the duty and make your way over,

you should have a T-shirt that says

"i find the duty"

I knew you'd sniff it out.

Maybe just the first few words of the Boy Scout oath: "On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty...."

it will be hard to keep from laughing when parker says that oath when he gets bigger.

he already doubles over laughing when he farts.
:lmao:

sunday before church, he was in the kitchen with candis dad, and farted...candi said dad, gross was that you, she walked in there, and parker is bent over, laughing so hard he was doing a silent laugh trying to catch his breath.

thats my boy.
:thumbsup2

Liesa, have you tried Mousebits? I've gotten some background music from their site. You're right, it is really hard to find most of it. I really love Animal Kingdom's bgm, and luckily that is available on CD - so I bought it last time I was there. Maybe I could email you mp3 files? Never tried to do that. Might be easier to just burn you a cd and snail mail it!

By the way, what is BFP?

The last time I tried Mousebits, (at least I think it was them) you had to know how to use torrents. I have not idea what that is or HOW to do it. So I got discouraged and gave up.

I'm going to post on my own thread what I did for makeing myself a "virtual" WS/ AK/ DHS/ Resort/ and MK tour". It's just a start, but I like it!

My dad's done a few CD's for me, and mailed them. It works pretty great!

That's what my DH wants to do, too - one of his goals is to go out one afternoon with his uncle (who is a massive photography buff) to the afternoon parade at the Magic Kingdom. He wants to videotape them without having to worry about where the children are. :rotfl: That way we'll have them to watch, and he's planning on ripping the audio from them, too. Like you said, the sound quality isn't the greatest, but it's Disney audio, so we deal with it. :lovestruc I'll have to check out your thread...or maybe have DH do it, since he's the IT guy!

All that ticket nonsense sounds like a real headache :headache: Not really sure what to tell ya. I hope they are Magic Your Way tickets for your sake. Then you can do whatever you want with them. It's weird how they have different restrictions for "comp" tickets? Best of luck!

Just checking in to say Hi!!!!

Thanks Rosie! "Hi" back! I'm going to start by replying to this post since it gives me an opportunity to say that I've been away on a business trip for a couple of days and wasn't able to get on the DISboards. Well, I did look in a couple of times, but I didn't have time to post any replies. I was able to get on the internet from my hotel room the other night, but I guess the DISboards were down? I could get on other websites, but not the DIS. :confused3

Anyway, it's going to take me a while to get caught up on all of your threads.

You and my husband should meet...although maybe not. I don't need any more quoting of Star Wars around the house...he's already got the kids doing it!

He sounds like a great guy! I like him already.

Oh, no, that was all Daddy's idea. The man's too much of a computer geek for his own good...

I'm a Disney fan, but I don't think I want to take it to that level -- listening show music while driving, all the time.

Okay, you guys are waaaay beyond me here. I love the background music (BGM I'm guess) while I'm there, but I'm fine with leaving it there until the next time I return. Good luck in your quests though!

Did we ever find out what "BFP" stands for?

this whole exchange made me laugh...:rotfl2::rotfl2:

just everyday life in the fauntleroy house hold.

It sounds like Parker will soon eclipse the master, if he hasn't already.

Thanks. I still haven't received a phone call back after I talked to the travel people earlier this week. I have a feeling I need to start looking for someone who can use them.

BFP= BIG FAT PLAN (I got it from Cynthia, and LOVE it, so it's stickin' with me).

Welcome back! Hope your trip was a good one!

We interrupt this Flashback '05 TR to bring you an update on our current June '10 trip planning.

Okay DISgang, tell me what you think about my park ticket situation.

As you may remember from my early posts in this PTR, we currently have Annual Passes that will be in effect during our trip in June. As part of the trip package we'll receive Park Hopper passes from PChef that I planned to take to Guest Services and upgrade to non-expiring, or whatever it takes, to be able to use them on a future trip.

I talked to Disney about what will be required and they can't tell me because they'd need to see the back of the ticket to see what kind it is. So, we posed the question to the travel planners, and here's the response we got:

"In regards to the Disney Hopper Pass, we are not able to extend the expiration date of the passes. We purchased the pass through a group contract. They must be used within the 7 days of our program (June 6-June 20).
Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
Sorry,
name"

I read that and thought, they misunderstand my question. I understand that they can't extend the expiration date, but if I want to, what will it cost?

I called them again and they said, "No, they're a special contract ticket. They have to be used during that time period." To which I replied, "Well, I'm going to have to rethink the whole thing then. I bought-in my son for over $500 and all we get out of it is a dinner." (I'm just thinking "The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever". Ay yi yi.)

So, I called Disney again, and the kind CM I talked to again said they really need to know what kind of ticket it is. "Is it a Magic Your Way ticket or a Comp ticket? If it's a Magic Your Way ticket, just don't use it -- they expire 14 days after the first use. If it's a 'comp' ticket, they have no value and can't be upgraded or added to." That last part may be key -- I know that people can add days to their park tickets if they want to extend their trip, so I don't think they're "Comp" tickets.

I have another call in to the travel group, hoping they can tell me what type of ticket they are. But it just doesn't make sense that they can't be upgraded.

Wow!! What a bunch of .......bull hockey. I hope they are the MYW tickets. It sounds like they probably are.

As of now, I have purchased the 5 day MYW tickets w/park hoppers but it comes with a free 1 day ticket. Well, we are PROBABLY only doing the parks for 5 days because one of those days will be a water park. I'm not sure what to do with the extra day. Can I get the no expiration on one day?? Is the cost worth it?? :confused3

Well put! I'm just so disgusted right now I don't even want to plan, so that's bad. Probably partly because I don't know what to plan....do I move forward hoping they're MYW and we'll just stash 'em away, or should I be trying to find somebody to use them, like other PChef consultants or extended family. I wish I at least had a definitive answer.

Ah, so I guess that means you don't want my five 3-day tickets.

Can I get the no expiration on one day?? Is the cost worth it?? :confused3

I don't know the answer, but you can call and find out, I'm sure. I didn't know the phone number for park tickets so I just called the cash reservations number and was pretty quickly directed to a park tickets person.
