The most annoying or aggravating thing you see at WDW.....get your flames ready!

Grumpy people....
I see some people and just feel like saying……come on folk your on vacation in that happiest place on earth...have a little fun, relax....if your that pissed off and upset go back to the hotel and take a nap

That's mine too. Its vacation people, smile!:goodvibes

I know it is hot. I know it is crowded. I know it is expensive. And I know there's a lot to do/see. But I think some people get so into the commando, pack it all in, do it all mindset that they forget to have fun doing it.

My biggest complaint on my last trip was the rude people on cell phones. YOU ARE ON VACATION! PUT THE PHONES DOWN FOR AWHILE! People were even talking loudly in the shows and on the rides. The rest of us don't really want to hear all about your private life.

Now, please read my original thread. I clearly stated that "people who dont have a physical ailment" and "are enormously overweight." OF course, there would be people who may be overweight that DO have physical ailments that should be in a scooter. My post wasn't aimed at them....

joint problems, heart problems, lack of energy -all symptoms of a very serious disease..the "hand to mouth disease" Sadly, Americans all over and their kids are being attacked by this very contagious disease. WDW is simply a place where the diseases affects are easily seen. People who must use ecv to be able to get around and enjoy the park.
Our first trip to WDW and I admit we were ones who stared and behind people's backs made fun of them. We guessed they suffered from "hand to mouth disease".
Then, a friend of mine who is overweight, but not from hand to mouth disease, but from other medical issues needed to use a scooter , but was embarassed to need one, afraid of people like me who judged. She made me realize that I don't know a person's medical condition, so rather than to assume they are being fat and lazy, I now assume they have some other medical issue. It helps me get around the parks now without being so judgemental and more understanding.
This may help others.
Another thing I learned this last trip is those scooters must be hard to drive. A fellow who was new to driving one(I think he was getting one for a family member) he was having troubles making it go at a reasonable speed. I commented to him(not rudely just conversation) and he said he was frustrated that it went too fast and was too easy to hit folks by mistake because of the speed. I am sure it was made even harder because he was a newbie with it.

My pet peeve...line holders...sorry unless you have some little kid that needs to pee, you have no right to have family members hold your spot. Anytime my group got broken up, the folks in front stopped, let others pass until we were reunited, then we continued in the line.

Oh and flash pics when there aren't suppose to be any

I am overweight due to taking steriods for a very long time for an eye disease that almost cost me my sight. I also have a heart condition that I got from pregnancy. None of these where my fault .My ability to walk long distances due to my heart condition is pretty low. I don't use an ECV but if that was the only way to do Disney, you bet I would.

It is very sad that people judge us but our looks and not whats inside. I am a great person, with lots of friends and a loving family. But some of the nasty things people say stings. Just because you're thin doesn't make you more of a person than a overweight one.

Don't judge a book by its cover, open it up and read it.....

You have no idea what a persons life is like or what cards they've been dealt.

I work with senior citizens and when i do their monthly newsletter I always end with this saying "BE GOOD TO EACH OTHER" wouldn't it be nice if we all followed that thought.....

for me, it really bothers me to see people on ECVs that don't have a physical ailment, but are just enormously overweight and don't feel like walking. It bothers me because i can't help but wonder are there people who are handicapped that could have gotten that ECV and now dont have one because an enormously overweight person has it.

I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt on that one - those ECVs are expensive to rent, not easy to drive, and a hassle on many attractions. I don't think there are many who would rent them just because they don't feel like walking.

My WDW pet peeve is people waiting for their fast pass return times to roll around while standing directly in front of the fast pass entrance. It looks like there is a line but it's a big group of people just waiting for another 10 or 15 minutes to pass. Move aside and let folks who are actually within their fast pass time window through!

Agreed! :thumbsup2

Also, people that talk loudly on rides or use FLASH photography on rides where it's both prohibited and obviously annoying.

Parents who yell at kids for not wanting to ride a certain ride (what, your 6 year old DOESN'T want to ride tower of terror? Neither do I...) or who try to circumvent the safety rules (really.... the height restriction seems to mean nothing to some parents).

I agree. they are not easy, and now most lines are mainstreamed, so you don't get "head of line" or anything... they are very expensive, and they are very very heavy..

yes, some people may be faking, but most are not, and so i generally give people the benefit of the doubt...

Our first trip to WDW and I admit we were ones who stared and behind people's backs made fun of them. We guessed they suffered from "hand to mouth disease".

Well I hope you don't have kids and were teaching them that it is ok to laugh at people.

None of the things posted so far really bother me, but one incident does come to mind. Once I was in line for BTMRR and two patrons in front of me were voraciously making out. There was butt grabbing involved. At the ripe old age of 16, I thought that was in poor taste for a children's park.

I have severe arthritis in both knees and even walking to buy groceries will cause me to have to ice my knees when I get home. But when we went last year, I did the first two days walking. We started our 3rd day (in Magic Kingdom) and only got a short way when I realized I couldn't do it and had to go back and rent an ECV. I was so embarassed and knew people would assume I'd gotten one because I am heavy. And after sitting for a short while, I could have gotten off the scooter and walked normally for a very short period so people may have assumed that was the case. It certainly wasn't. They probably didn't see me limping horribly later (maybe even just a few steps later) and I know they didn't see me later on that evening, unable to bend my knees due to swelling and crying lying in bed because I was in so much pain. Even someone who steps off a scooter and appears to be fine, may not be. All that said, I know people do probably get scooters when they don't need them. Anytime there's a benefit for someone, there will be someone else out to exploit it. I tried to be very careful on my scooter and often times had to come to an abrupt halt because someone would just step in front of me. On a more positive note, since I had the scooter, my family resigned themselves to a "slower" trip knowing we probably wouldn't get to do absolutely everything. That was our 4th trip and we actually had a better time because we had slowed down and enjoyed the whole atmosphere more than just scurrying from ride to ride.

There are rude folks everywhere. Why do you think that they will not show up at WDW? Yes, I'd like everyone to be considerate of others as much as anyone else, but, geez... I'm on vacation and I'm not going to let it ruin the day or bother me so much that I have to vent months later. That's unhealthy. Don't let the bad guys win.

I have a few:

Standing in line and someone with a backpack in front of me whirling around while the backpack hits everyone!

People who bring babies. I mean babies...I went one time and watched this couple trying to do MK commando style (running) with a newborn. There were no other kids with them, just the two adults with a newborn. It was VERY hot (June) and I thought it was pretty poor planning on their part. Not saying they don't deserve to go- but maybe a babysitter could have come along.

People throwing trash in front of a cleaning CM, just to see how fast they pick it up.

Healthy looking men and boys sitting on a bus, while an elderly person or pregnant woman is standing. I have "Evil Eyed" grown men for this while giving up my seat for one of the above!

There was a story in my local paper a couple months ago about a trend going on now where, young, healthy people are renting these ECV's now.
It wasn't in Disney though I think it was in Vegas cause of how much walking there is and such. unbelievable

Just because I"m on vacation doesn't mean that I don't want to talk on my cell phone. It's the best way for me to talk to my DBF who will sadly be home during my trip in August. I would NEVER talk on the phone during a show or an attraction (that is rude), but when I'm walking through the park or sitting by the pool at the hotel, I'm going to talk to him. I don't think that's rude at all.

There are many rude things that happen at WDW and many magical things also. It all works out in the end! :)

On our most recent trip we saw an entire family (mother, father and early twenty-something daughter, all extremely overweight, each on an ECV) in Epcot. And the greatest kicker of them all was that the daughter was sitting in her ECV near a trash can SMOKING!!!!!

Y would you want to. Yeah, the might be a little fast for a crowded park, but in general, they are fairly slow and cumbersome. They are expensive to rent and each time you park it to go to a ride/attraction, you have to gather up all your stuff or leave and risk it being stolen.

I think they are great for those who need them, but I can't imagine using it just "for the fun of it."

mommymcgee - I agree that if they do not need the ECV, they should not use them. but there is no reason to assume that a person in an ECV should not be smoking (well, there are reasons, but they apply to everyone). if she has a sprained ankle, then smoking will not really affect that. I HATE people who fake, because then people assume I am faking, but please do not make assumptions...

This is really what ticks me off:

When the park first opens and you get in line for rides, the people (usually teens without parents) will just jump over the bars to get in front of you and basically skip you. It's not that I'm walking slow, I'm 6'2" and got some long legs.. they just want to be the first! Common courtesy is all I'm asking :/

There are a couple of things that bother me.

1. People who come out of an attraction, store, etc. and stop in the door way. Just move to the side.

2. People who don't clean up after themselves. We were in Pecos Bill last December and a man finished eating, picks up his tray and sets it down on a different table. Why??? As he was walking out he said the garbage can was on the other side of the room and he didn't want to walk over there.

3. People who make a mess in the bathrooms. It's called clean up after yourself. Gross!
