Great pictures of the male lion! I have never seen a better shot. That darn guy is always hiding when I'm the ride.
Oh, thanks Jenbear! I know...it's taken me several safari trips to finally get him looking half awake.
Those wires sure look like an electrical hazard! I've never noticed them before. Then again, I'm not in that store very much anyways....
What, you're always running through to get back on the ride?
Oh Har-de-har-har!!!
Hee hee hee.
Oh I don't know, you can do a lot with a really good spoon!!!
Oh yeah, that would smart.
Hey, didn't you tell me you never hesitate to tell your woman where to go, and what to do!!!
Do you think I'd be able to stay married this long with that philosphy?
I think I remember waking up and she was gone right after that.........
Waking up with a knot on your head, right?

OMG, I'm so glad I wasn't sipping coffee at that moment!!!
DIS with caution.
Thanks for the great update! Katharina and I were making fun of those people with the expensive photo equipment at WDW saying that what do they need it for if their main subject are their kids... But I can see that you really put your new lens to good use at AK! I assume these lion pics were made with the "gorilla lens"?
Oh shoot. I was going to check the information on the photo using the camera's software to see if I could tell for sure...but I forgot. I
think I used the long lens....I'm not sure that my regular lens could zoom that close, and I vaguely remember not being quite ready to take a picture when we came upon the lion section, so I may have been changing lenses. But my memory's not real clear on that.
EE closing down was a dissappointment, think I would find it very interesting to be evacuated from this ride! But only afterwards! I am really afraid of heights, and walking down along this track I would freak quite a bit.
I'm with you -- I would not want to have to walk down from that ride!
The electric equipment at Serka Zong is impressiv!

It reminded me of a comment my mother once made when we were walking around the old town of Arles in Southern France. She was looking at some electrical installation with a similar quality and said: Why is it that here in Southern France things like that look romantic, while in Poland they look like poverty? I guess the great thing at Disney is that we know that it is only theme, so it can really look romantic without any relation to poverty!
You're right! Looking at that wiring, I knew it wasn't functional so it was just "interesting theming".
Thank you ma'am!
I hope I never get stuck on EE. We got stopped for a while on Splash right before the drop. It was very hard on the neck but I don't thing the scare factor is near what it would be on EE.
Splash would be bad, but I think you're right, Everest would be worse.
Wonderful family shots in front of the tree and the shrine. I have never looked around in the dump shop for EE and now I will have to look for those details.
Thanks. Yes, look around in there for a little bit.
Can't wait to read about your Blue meet.
So... is that a Judy sighting?
Yep, sure is. Especially after I had given clues that Judy went to get the fastpasses and that it wasn't my thumb in the picture. Rosie got it right away.
Well, it IS a rather nice color... I'm not sure I'd repaint my whole house with it, but maybe the patio furniture?
That's the spirit! I think there were plenty of prom tuxedo's that used this color, back in the '70's.
I loved your mama/baby shots!! Those are pretty rare on the Safari too!!
Yes, I don't think we've seen any little tykes like this on previous trips. But I didn't really remember getting pictures of them until I went to write the chapter.
We have Baboon butts at our zoo too. I take my kids there just to hear them laugh belly laughs there. (my kids that is, I don't know what a baboon sounds like when it's belly laughing.)
Some things are universally funny, and a blue butt has to be one of them.
Super fun detail shots, too! I got hung up on the masks too in the Serka Zong.
Cool! Glad you noticed them.
You've reminded me once again how thankful I am to have my trip notes!! I'd be so lost at this point, it'd be useless to write a report. But then again, by now, a lot of you are thinking the same thing.
I'm sure you could use your receipts to piece together what you did.
No, you're doing fine. I haven't seen very many other trip reports that included stops in Nuremberg Germany and Bowling Green KY.
I guess I better take notes this trip. That's why I never got around to writing a TR about our last trip. When I finally started trying to put it together, I couldn't remember that many details! Of course, after meeting the internationally famous glennbo123, the rest of the trip was rather uneventful.....

Of course, I guess I could have cheated off of his TR since we were in a lot of places at the same time!
I know you'll come through with good notes and a good trip report...since Rosie's putting pressure on you.
Now you al saw it Marv threatened me with VIOLENCE!!!!

Sweet little INNOCENT me !!!
You were more credible before you put that "Sweet little INNOCENT" part in.
