The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

I don't know about Pat, but I think there's a chance it'd work.

Do I need to Double Dog Dare????

I think Marv's TR can include some spoons. The rest of the family thinking Marv went off the deep end while he is taking them ..... priceless. :rotfl2:

First, congrats on your Saints pulling out a last-minute win today. :thumbsup2

Are you speaking of the game(s) where they had a good lead and then lost it and then won by the skin of their......well, you know??? I'm not happy with them this season but I still love them....they are my Saints!
Wow, I'm impressed at your will-power and resisting looking at all of the pictures. I think you'll like the show when you see it. Thanks for the compliment on the pictures.
Yeah, I was kind of impressed with myself too. Usually I can't but I want it to be a surprise.

Believe me, I know exactly how you feel. I currently do not have a trip planned either. I don't think we'll get back to WDW until 2012. We'd like to see the Grand Canyon, and may do that this summer, but it will probably depend on how the financial situation looks after we get through the end of the year and taxes and everything. The one good thing about skipping WDW in 2011 is we'll have beaucoup points in 2012.....hmmmm, a bigger suite or a longer stay? :scratchin

Grand Canyon sounds like a good trip! We are going to start branching out a little ourselves now that DS is getting a little older.

We have extra points right now since I banked 100. Plus we have our regular 160 for 2011. We are only using 3 nights worth for our small pre-cruise stay in June so if we do not take another trip before 2012 we will have a lot of extra points too! I'm with ya....bigger suite, fancier resort, or longer stay?? Guess it depends on if we bring any family or friends with us.

Sorry Glennbo! I've been busy but I am all caught up now. I had to skip most of your last update since I haven't seen Nemo yet. From what I have heard my teenager probably would have wanted to do something else. So maybe next time.

Hopefully Darth Reallife will let me get a breath in and I can continue on my Solo trip report.

Finally back to the Land of the Posting. Great to be greeted with pictures of the Grandest of Canyons. It IS so pretty!! I used to work and go to school about an hour away from there, so would visit often to watch thunderstorms over the canyon walls. It's also VERY nice with snow around it! :thumbsup2

That must have been awesome to live so close. Could you ever get tired of looking at it? Did it ever become "ho-hum"?

Yes Glen the much coverted Rosie Seal of Approval goes to The Grand Canyon!!!:cloud9:

Also Marv Spoon Dancing gets the Seal!!!!:rotfl2:

It's interesting to see what gets the Seal. These two are so totally different, it's hard to imagine.

Hopefully there was something useful in that info dump I sent. :faint:

Oh yeah, good stuff. Now I can move on to paralysis by analysis.

I don't know whether to be proud of my wife or insulted that you don't think I could take a good picture like that. :rotfl2:

Anyway, thanks. I will pass on your compliments to the photographer.

I don't think it was necessarily because it was a good picture that I thought your wife took it....on your TR it just seemed like she took camera duty most of the time. And she took a lot of very nice pictures.

Do I need to Double Dog Dare????

Do it! Do it!

I think Marv's TR can include some spoons. The rest of the family thinking Marv went off the deep end while he is taking them ..... priceless. :rotfl2:

Oh yeah, I think so. If he runs into a wooden spoon at some shop in the world showcase...I can only imagine.

I think it'd be good. It's still quite "up in the air" at the moment.

Yes, the idea of inviting family has floated around in my head too. There are lots of horror stories on the DVC boards though.

No problem Tom...I have a duel going on with Darth Reallife also. :rotfl2:

I'm just giving you crap. I have a hard time getting her to give up "her baby". And she does do a great job. :thumbsup2

Marv and Spoon Dancing is definately a different catagory than the Grand Canyon !!:rotfl2:

I am expecting some "interesting" pix from his trip!!:confused3:rotfl2:

That must have been awesome to live so close. Could you ever get tired of looking at it? Did it ever become "ho-hum"?

Nope, not ever. Well, once. One time a date and I went out there from school, and I had just gotten my brand new Mazda 626. He was driving like a moron at about 100 mph (yes, really), and I thought I was gonna die. I was so pissed; I never saw him again, but that was the only time I was NOT happy about going there. I should have been happy just to see it or anything else for that matter! :sad2:

I never got tired of seeing the lightening strike on the other side across it, or the sunsets in the evenings over the walls. It really is a fabulous place that is a haven for photographers.

I knew you were, but still thought I should clarify.

It should be good...the expectations are high! No pressure Marv.

Okay, yes, we're exerting pressure. We want some "interesting" pix!

Yikes. Too many young people meet an early demise from driving like that. Sounds wise to steer clear after an episode like that.

Haven for photographers...hmmmm.

He can take it; I've given poor Glenn more than enough. :lmao:

It's your speciality.

Very strange...there was a post here from a new reader, I was going to reply to it welcoming them, and now it's gone. I even clicked on the number of replies to my thread to see that it was their first post (it was) and now they're not listed there either.

<Twilight Zone music> Do do do do, Do do do do.

I saw the post... It seemed to be one of these people who hop around from thread to thread and leave a very brief comment everywhere. I think they are just trying to get their post count up to be able to post links and then they start spamming... Remember one who just posted a smiley? I think you even made a funny comment about his/her long post... :goodvibes

ETA: Marv was able to reply to this new reader, but now has a "ghost quote" because the original post by lemonhedo was pulled. I guess I see them quite often (I have even reported a few) because I get on in the middle of your night...

Not so much! They are both "natural wonders" of the world! One is a real WONDER, and the other you just wonder about....... ;)

The fact you give him more than enough is the exact reason I always take it so easy on my buddy Glenn........ :rolleyes1

Hopefully you guys won't be disappointed with holiday decorations touristy shots! I missed out on those two years ago when my plans changed, so they will be my primary focus! Not sure I'll even have time for the silliness some of you expect....... :confused3

Boy, like you don't have enough readership already, you're having to MAKE UP new readers........ :sad2:

And don't go looking at my PTR for proof! No way they would have also visited MY thread, and I would have multi-quoted them and welcomed them before they could have mysteriously disappeared......if they ever truly existed to start with......

Well, it was just a case of the early bird catches the worm - or in this case the additional reader! You are always the first to post on my subscribed threads after I worked through them in the morning...

I'm glad you saw it, this is yet another time that you've saved me Magdalene. You think it's related to spamming? Could be. The post I saw was lemonhedo also.

I don't think you need to tell anybody which one's which.

Uh huh.

I almost didn't write that post, knowing that you would say exactly this.

:lmao:

Yes, he does make the rounds quite early.

I just read the Nemo update---and all I gotta say is I want a zoom lens.

::yes::

Amazing work Glenn!

I see your light on. Are you doing an update? I gotta get back in the Judy game!

Thanks Brook!

A little bird told me (since I'm the little bird who ordered it on Amazon) that I'll be getting a "nifty fifty" lens for Christmas. That means.....better low-light shots! PotC, HM, who knows what else? I think it'll also be good for portrait-type shots.

No, sorry...no update today. Just checking in here during lunch. Work is very busy through the next several days, plus I'm trying to do it from home (James is sick) so it's a little tougher to get things done.

Aw bummer! Sorry to hear about the work and James being sick. Poor dude. :sad2:

I want that lens!! I completely forgot about it...I gotta talk to Joe-perhaps it can be our gift to each other. :scratchin

Not stalking you Magdalene, really I'm not!!! :rolleyes1 Okay, maybe a little...... :guilty:

Actually, I usually do the User CP thing early in the morning when I get on, and see which threads have new posts since I last checked. Since you are up in the middle of the night (well, our night anyway) posting, those are the threads that typically pop up in the list. :thumbsup2

Oh I know!! We are nervous about it but when/if it happens we are going to make it CLEAR that we DON'T have to stick together the entire trip. :rotfl: I think that would help some. ....I hope. That is mostly for the parents and/or friends.

Sometime next year our brother in law will hopefully be coming home from Afghanistan. This is DH's sister and her hubby. Neither have ever been to WDW. They are both in their 20's and have no kids yet. DH and I are taking them on an all expenses paid trip to WDW. We aren't too worried about that trip going bad. They are both very excited and I'm sure it will be a good stress release for them by that time.

We took my parents with us when the kids were little. My 17 year old was only 3. This was before we owned DVC, so we had our own rooms. We spent the first 3 days together - 1 day per park (no Animal Kingdom yet) so we could kind of show them around. And after that they did their own thing and we did ours. We bumped into each other a few times, and we may have gotten together for supper, but other than that we were separate.

A few years later we took my younger step-son and his (then) wife and kids and they stayed in our DVC rooms with us. Their youngest was just 6 months old. We tried to stay together the whole time and it was miserable for everyone. My kids were old enough to ride rides, but theirs weren't so every move we made was "who's going, who's staying...is Nick tall enough, can we take Ben on......" And his wife asked a million and one questions (never waiting for the answers:sad2:). I didn't go on the trip that was with the older step-son and his wife and family, but it sounds like it was worse. They are both smokers so there were frequent smoke breaks and a lot of bathroom breaks. I understand that my oldest gave up on them and went off on his own.

The trip with your BIL sounds exiting. Thank him for his service - my oldest step-son is Navy, and I know how rough it is on his wife and kids when he is deployed.
