(I was looking for a smoke smiley, but I did not want to post one of a smoking smiley, so I substituted pixie dust for smoke...)
Good choice! This is a no-smoking zone.
I did not know they were called "dust bunnies", how cute!! We call them Wollmäuse which means "wool mice" - same idea!
It is so funny to come across these expressions that are similar, but different. I'm glad you can provide that perspective for us.
Actually, that would be the same here as well with regard to tax. I guess in a company where people work rather independently, these events make sense to built up a sense of togetherness which you normally get from meeting your colleagues every day.
I think they want to encourage (financially) people to go on the trip rather than take cash for just the reason you mention, plus they can use the large volume of vacations that they're purchasing to get them at a discount.
Also, I forgot that you had mentioned the travel allowance. One thing I was thinking that in order to take part in this trip people would have to actually pay on top of that for transport and food.
Yes, I've been on enough of these to know they're not "free" (hence my PTR title). There's always extra costs.
Hey, zero was already taken so I took a chance!

Actually when I first posted it, I thought it might be correct. There is a lady sorta in the middle wearing pink, with what looks like two girls and a boy trailing just behind, but when I went back to your earlier posts I noticed the color of the girls clothes and didn't figure they had changed in that short period of time!
I figured that was your reasoning....and it was a good idea, just didn't work out this time.
Who needs lame excuses, right?

After all, you have that built in "Well, I needed that shot in case I can use it in the trip report for the Judy-do contest! See, your reflection IS in that window......"
Sounds reasonable, except for the fact that the Judy-do contest didn't exist when I was actually
on the trip.
BTW, love the fireworks at DHS. Pretty good show, lower crowds, quicker escape when all is done. Did the one's for July 4th, plan to hit them there again on New Year's Eve!

And you got some nice pics there too!
Thank you sir!
Glen, great picture of the Sorcerer's hat and the fireworks. I wish I could get firework pictures like that (and no comments from MARV).
Thank you ma'am!
I don't even know what he'd say to that.
Great update! I love the pictures. It seems like a great ending for the day.
Thanks Katharina! Every day should end with a fireworks show, right?
The crossroads sign had some kind of fascination for me as well, when leaving the park - even in broad daylight.
There's something about it.
(And memo to myself: take notes of of what all the Glennbos are wearing during the first part of each day's report!)
You're getting serious about it now.
Hey Glenn,
I saw your TR was 144 pages already and got intimidated about reading the whole thing, but I'll try and work my way through it. Your fireworks pictures are pretty cool! Especially handheld!
Hey Mark!
It's great to have you here. Yes, I know it can be a little intimidating. Sometimes I only dare to peek in, myself. Just kidding. Feel free to use the links in the 2nd post of the thread to get caught up with the actual trip report material, and chime-in with the in-between banter whenever you want to.
We have a little game going here that started at Marvin's (Marvali) suggestion after about the 2nd chapter. After I post a new chapter, people try to be the first to respond with the correct number of times my wife appears in a picture. It started when I noticed Judy off in the distance in a photo from the Pepper Market, so now it's like a "where's Waldo" game. Sometimes it's just zero, like in this last chapter; sometimes there are a bunch. And "parts" count if you can deduce it's her (like part of an arm appearing in a picture of her plate of food). Some people have suggested that I may not be keeping track of the points

....and they may be right.

But it's been a lot of fun.
For everyone else -- Mark has a good game going on his thread (although I don't know why I'm telling you that, I certainly don't need the competition) where you have to be the first to identify the movie lines that have made it into his chapters.
Once again great photos! The crowds though, yikes!
Thank you Jenny! The crowds weren't that bad most of the time, it's just that the party was over and everyone was leaving at exactly the same time.
Wha-? I didn't even know we were playing spot the Judy!
Yeah Yuki, but you have to be quick...these people are serious! I just gave a description of it in my reply to Captain Oblivious above.
I love that photo you took right before the fireworks, with the lights coming from the Graumann theatre. Simple gorgeous.
Thank you. I like that one too. I've thought about making it my desktop picture, but I'm still using my Kidani-entrance-at-night picture from last year's trip, which I love.
"Leaning palm"

Good one!

Thanks. I write my chapters in Word and then copy them into the DIS "reply" box...and that line got added after I copied the whole thing in, so just before it went to press!
I was actually wondering the same thing about which exit to take when I saw that photo of everyone heading to the main entrance.....Good to know it worked out!
I hadn't even thought about it until it was time to leave.

I too vote for Disney to add fireworks like these every day!

And another vote too for Disney to get you back to your hotel in less than 30 minutes
Very democratic of you.
Really enjoying your trip report so far! You're pretty funny.

alabamagirl! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I try to keep the chapters at least somewhat entertaining, but the readers bring a lot of the funny in-between.
Agian, my super-fast DISCollegues beat me to it. DANG!
I know....they're tough. I don't know what to tell you.
Well, the installment was worthy of a good "WOW" anyway. I love Disney fireworks!!
Thanks. I know, their fireworks are the best!
