The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

those are some gorgeous photos, even with the smoke, I bet it was incredible! I am in awe that you got out of there that fast, that's mind boggling!

I am going to hold myself back from trying to see if there is a REFLECTION of Judy....

I can't even count real pictures of her! :rotfl:

Awesome picture! I LOVE it!

Were the fireworks a special deal for PChef?

pixiedust: (I was looking for a smoke smiley, but I did not want to post one of a smoking smiley, so I substituted pixie dust for smoke...)

Good choice! This is a no-smoking zone.

I did not know they were called "dust bunnies", how cute!! We call them Wollmäuse which means "wool mice" - same idea! :goodvibes

It is so funny to come across these expressions that are similar, but different. I'm glad you can provide that perspective for us.

Actually, that would be the same here as well with regard to tax. I guess in a company where people work rather independently, these events make sense to built up a sense of togetherness which you normally get from meeting your colleagues every day.

I think they want to encourage (financially) people to go on the trip rather than take cash for just the reason you mention, plus they can use the large volume of vacations that they're purchasing to get them at a discount.

Also, I forgot that you had mentioned the travel allowance. One thing I was thinking that in order to take part in this trip people would have to actually pay on top of that for transport and food.

Yes, I've been on enough of these to know they're not "free" (hence my PTR title). There's always extra costs.

Hey, zero was already taken so I took a chance! ;) Actually when I first posted it, I thought it might be correct. There is a lady sorta in the middle wearing pink, with what looks like two girls and a boy trailing just behind, but when I went back to your earlier posts I noticed the color of the girls clothes and didn't figure they had changed in that short period of time! :lmao:

I figured that was your reasoning....and it was a good idea, just didn't work out this time.

Who needs lame excuses, right? After all, you have that built in "Well, I needed that shot in case I can use it in the trip report for the Judy-do contest! See, your reflection IS in that window......" :rotfl:

Sounds reasonable, except for the fact that the Judy-do contest didn't exist when I was actually on the trip.

BTW, love the fireworks at DHS. Pretty good show, lower crowds, quicker escape when all is done. Did the one's for July 4th, plan to hit them there again on New Year's Eve! :thumbsup2 And you got some nice pics there too!

Thank you sir!

Glen, great picture of the Sorcerer's hat and the fireworks. I wish I could get firework pictures like that (and no comments from MARV).

Thank you ma'am!

I don't even know what he'd say to that.

Great update! I love the pictures. It seems like a great ending for the day.

Thanks Katharina! Every day should end with a fireworks show, right?

The crossroads sign had some kind of fascination for me as well, when leaving the park - even in broad daylight.

There's something about it. :confused3

(And memo to myself: take notes of of what all the Glennbos are wearing during the first part of each day's report!)

You're getting serious about it now.

Hey Glenn,

I saw your TR was 144 pages already and got intimidated about reading the whole thing, but I'll try and work my way through it. Your fireworks pictures are pretty cool! Especially handheld! :thumbsup2

Hey Mark! :welcome:

It's great to have you here. Yes, I know it can be a little intimidating. Sometimes I only dare to peek in, myself. Just kidding. Feel free to use the links in the 2nd post of the thread to get caught up with the actual trip report material, and chime-in with the in-between banter whenever you want to.

We have a little game going here that started at Marvin's (Marvali) suggestion after about the 2nd chapter. After I post a new chapter, people try to be the first to respond with the correct number of times my wife appears in a picture. It started when I noticed Judy off in the distance in a photo from the Pepper Market, so now it's like a "where's Waldo" game. Sometimes it's just zero, like in this last chapter; sometimes there are a bunch. And "parts" count if you can deduce it's her (like part of an arm appearing in a picture of her plate of food). Some people have suggested that I may not be keeping track of the points ....and they may be right. :rolleyes1 But it's been a lot of fun.

For everyone else -- Mark has a good game going on his thread (although I don't know why I'm telling you that, I certainly don't need the competition) where you have to be the first to identify the movie lines that have made it into his chapters.

Once again great photos! The crowds though, yikes! :scared:

Thank you Jenny! The crowds weren't that bad most of the time, it's just that the party was over and everyone was leaving at exactly the same time.

Wha-? I didn't even know we were playing spot the Judy!

Yeah Yuki, but you have to be quick...these people are serious! I just gave a description of it in my reply to Captain Oblivious above.

I love that photo you took right before the fireworks, with the lights coming from the Graumann theatre. Simple gorgeous.

Thank you. I like that one too. I've thought about making it my desktop picture, but I'm still using my Kidani-entrance-at-night picture from last year's trip, which I love.

"Leaning palm" :rotfl: Good one!

;) Thanks. I write my chapters in Word and then copy them into the DIS "reply" box...and that line got added after I copied the whole thing in, so just before it went to press!

I was actually wondering the same thing about which exit to take when I saw that photo of everyone heading to the main entrance.....Good to know it worked out!

I hadn't even thought about it until it was time to leave.

I too vote for Disney to add fireworks like these every day!

And another vote too for Disney to get you back to your hotel in less than 30 minutes :rotfl:

Very democratic of you.

Really enjoying your trip report so far! You're pretty funny. :)

:welcome: alabamagirl! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I try to keep the chapters at least somewhat entertaining, but the readers bring a lot of the funny in-between.

Agian, my super-fast DISCollegues beat me to it. DANG!

I know....they're tough. I don't know what to tell you.

Well, the installment was worthy of a good "WOW" anyway. I love Disney fireworks!! :thumbsup2

Thanks. I know, their fireworks are the best!

Wow glennbo! The DHS fireworks look like they were great! Did they have a name for them?

those are some gorgeous photos, even with the smoke, I bet it was incredible! I am in awe that you got out of there that fast, that's mind boggling!

Thank you! They were great fireworks.

The funny thing was, they didn't ask us if we wanted to leave. :rotfl2: I guess we all knew that if we missed the bus, there weren't any more coming later.

I am going to hold myself back from trying to see if there is a REFLECTION of Judy....

I can't even count real pictures of her! :rotfl:

That's good -- keep your sanity!

Awesome picture! I LOVE it!

Were the fireworks a special deal for PChef?

Thanks! I think they were the normal fireworks show that they do there, when they do it...but it's not that often that they do, if that makes sense!

Maybe I'm posting too much detail? I don't want to spoil it for people.

Not at all! I welcome the detail :thumbsup2

Those pictures turned out great! Very postcard worthy. Not too shabby for no tripod. My camera is the WORST when it comes to taking pictures at night. Then again, your camera is twice as good as much (and probably worth twice as much :rolleyes1 )

It feels like I took a shower inside myself, and a Magic Kingdom morning

That sounds..... moist :rotfl:

First, let me say....The picture below does not count for the Judy-do game.

This is the one I mentioned that I purposely left out of the last chapter to avoid a potential controversy. See the head close to the camera, out of focus, and kind of a little bit right of center? It kind of looks like it could be Judy, but I don't think so. Since I had another picture of the Crossroads sign, I thought it was easier to just leave it out!

Okay, good! I guess you would have stopped reading if you were getting too many spoilers.

Thank you! Aw, my camera isn't a professional model or anything. It's more expensive than a point and shoot, but a reasonable price for an SLR for an amateur/hobbyist.

That sounds..... moist :rotfl:

The moistest!

No fair I was at work again!!!!! I would or wood have said Zero too:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

As for the accidental background pix !!!Jordan definately does in deliberately !!!:rotfl2:Many a Peep pix has been taken that way!!:rotfl2:

Thank you! They were great fireworks.

That's pretty funny! After almost missing transportation more than once and being stranded...I'd leave too.

That's good -- keep your sanity!

It's tenuous at best

:rotfl:

Wow, now I really want to go to a private event at DHS, so I can see extra-special DHS fireworks!

Of course, I'd much prefer it be a smaller group. Like, me and my fifty closest friends. That's realistic, right? :rotfl:

Great update -- that first shot of the hat is awesome!

Sounds reasonable, except for the fact that the Judy-do contest didn't exist when I was actually on the trip.
Just trying to help you out for your next trip! ;)
Thank you ma'am!

I don't even know what he'd say to that.
Yeah, I didn't either, which is why I didn't! :confused3
Thanks Katharina! Every day should end with a fireworks show, right?
That's my opinion too! Now if I can only get DW to see it that way.... :rolleyes1

Don't think I would fair too well on that one! Movie lines aren't one of my strong suits, unless it is ones that everyone probably knows :sad2:
I know....they're tough. I don't know what to tell you.
That's what happens when you move from an "earlier" time zone to one that is lagging behind! I guess your behind starts to lag! :)

Thanks! I think they were the normal fireworks show that they do there, when they do it...but it's not that often that they do, if that makes sense!
 Is that like a triple negative or something???
First, let me say....The picture below does not count for the Judy-do game.

Nah, that's not her! :)

Sounds reasonable, except for the fact that the Judy-do contest didn't exist when I was actually on the trip.

But you are aware that you will never ever again be able to post a TR here on the DIS without this game? ;)

And it has already changed the way you write your TR when you say that you specifically chose one picture over the other. BTW, I agree with Marv that it isn't Judy's head that it visible, the hair is way to frizzy, Judy does not have frizzy hair, it is curly! :goodvibes

No fair I was at work again!!!!! I would or wood have said Zero too:rolleyes1:rotfl2:

Oh I know! You got a raw deal. Dang rules committee.

As for the accidental background pix !!!Jordan definately does in deliberately !!!:rotfl2:Many a Peep pix has been taken that way!!:rotfl2:

I remember that picture of Blueyedgirl wearing her Saints jersey and signalling "number 1"....with Jordy sneaking up behind her. :rotfl2:

That's pretty funny! After almost missing transportation more than once and being stranded...I'd leave too.

Maybe I could catch a ride with a cast member. The characters take off those giant heads so they can drive, right?

It's tenuous at best

:rotfl:

Speaking of which (well, kind of speaking of which), with your new job I was afraid that we wouldn't see you on here very much, but you seem to be juggling everything pretty well, I presume?

Wow, now I really want to go to a private event at DHS, so I can see extra-special DHS fireworks!

I think they have them on the 4th of July for park guests, that may be the only time. Anyone else know?

Of course, I'd much prefer it be a smaller group. Like, me and my fifty closest friends. That's realistic, right? :rotfl:

Once you sell a zillion copies of that book you're going to write and you're wildly wealthy, laughing in the face of J.K. Rowling....then you can book your private party. Remember to include me in your 50 please!

Great update -- that first shot of the hat is awesome!

Thanks Nory!

Just trying to help you out for your next trip! ;)

You are a planner extraordinaire. Thank you for that.

Yeah, I didn't either, which is why I didn't! :confused3

Get your writers working on that.

That's my opinion too! Now if I can only get DW to see it that way.... :rolleyes1

TMI! TMI! TMI!

Okay, now I'M confused

What?

Don't think I would fair too well on that one! Movie lines aren't one of my strong suits, unless it is ones that everyone probably knows :sad2:

Aw, you might get something from a silent movie. :confused3

That's what happens when you move from an "earlier" time zone to one that is lagging behind! I guess your behind starts to lag! :)

What about when you ride in the bottom of a canoe for 5 hours?

 Is that like a triple negative or something???

Could be, not, yes, no way, uh huh.

Nah, that's not her! :)

But if I had left the picture in and you were fishing for points, would you have said the same thing?

But you are aware that you will never ever again be able to post a TR here on the DIS without this game? ;)

I think you're right.

And it has already changed the way you write your TR when you say that you specifically chose one picture over the other. BTW, I agree with Marv that it isn't Judy's head that it visible, the hair is way to frizzy, Judy does not have frizzy hair, it is curly! :goodvibes

I agree, it's not her....but you know how people get with these wild claims of Judy sightings.

Glennbo, how many busses did they have lined up there do you think to get all of you back so fast? I would have appreciated a few more boat launches from MK to the Poly some nights let me tell you. :rolleyes1

Sounds like an amazing night and maybe the highlight of the trip. I love the crossroads sign picture. Brings back memories as well. :cloud9:

Speaking of which (well, kind of speaking of which), with your new job I was afraid that we wouldn't see you on here very much, but you seem to be juggling everything pretty well, I presume?

Well....as you can see, some weeks are better than others. The past 2 weeks were nuts at work, in a good way mind you, but nuts and then I had a girls trip last weekend so I was pretty darn behind on the DIS! This week is better. House is not so clean and i haven't unpacked from my trip but I'm slowly catching up here.

So I can get behind again.

Loving the job. A little stressful in that we've been letting some folks go, I've been repeatedly assured I'm fine but still.....AAACK.

The others are largely performance related but a few too many, too close together for my personal comfort level.

It's a great picture, but there's a guy in the crowd wearing a turban and with a cigar in his mouth, and he looks so funny you'd think he was photoshopped in. Now I see that internet searches on "cigar guy" are way up, and people are photoshopping him into other pictures....but he really was in the Tiger Woods picture originally.
that is a funny guy in the background, reminds me of the guy that appears in all the adam sandler movies with the goofy disguises.

I agree, it's not her....but you know how people get with these wild claims of Judy sightings.

Yes, it's becoming quite like Big Foot and Nessie...'cept she's a lot prettier.
