The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

Help! How can one ever catch up with that... I go and see my country lose against Spain and then I have to spend hours to read what happened on the DIS... :confused3:scared1:

Wow that octopus was right again! I was rooting for Germany:mad:
In case you are wondering what that meant here is a link!

Geesh, am I the last one to read the update?? Where have I been anyway. :rotfl:

Great update, but so sorry about the headache and scam; glad you felt better after a rest.
Pretty savvy about the cc phone call. Those people never give up...what a world it's become.:confused3

Love the pics of Casitas from the distance!

(Need to catch up on the posts after the update now! :rotfl2:)

Which by the way is a German game! :cool1: I just looked it up on Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Settlers_of_Catan) and supposedly it is the first "German style board game" to acchieve popularity outside Europe. I did not know that there are "German style board games"... :confused3

It is a wonderful game!! It is unique because EVERY time you play it is a different game, and strategies have to be adjusted! ALSO, there are MANY add-ons to the original game which make it extra fun to keep learning new versions. Even my 8 year old enjoys the games with us.

A wink's as good as a nod to a one-eyed bat....(or something like that).
What the....
Suuuure you do.

Besides the DIS, I can also console myself with the fact that at least we have invented a style of board games - which appears to have another fan in Marvin as well ;)
Hey, how do you think it made it to America and garnered that Exo-European status??? :scratchin

After these posts I guess I'm going to have to check out that game. You're starting to pique my interest.

Really? I had seen some headlines on that octopus, but never read the articles.

Well, so far you're the last one, but I'm sure others will be along later. No problem. Yes, the posts after the update are maybe more fun than the actual update!

Monty Python reference.

I don't even know what Exo-European means! My turn to post --> :confused3

Our company has a fair amount of Germans working with us, and we are constantly joking that in order to apply with us, you have to show proficiency in the game. :lmao: Perhaps they brought it to us, and it spread from there. :confused3

We try our best!

Of course, every comedian is only as good as his/her material and you definitely give us some doozies! :lmao:
Monty Python reference.
::yes:: ::yes:: ;) ;) And that's the same response I had then too! :) Leave it to Monty Python to mess up a saying......

I don't even know what Exo-European means! My turn to post --> :confused3
A marv-ism! :thumbsup2

Oh sure, try to steal my fabricated thunder...

Yes, but I'm impressed that you could tell what we were doing.

that part was easy. Hard part was thinking of something witty as an alternative

I LOVE Boggle, but none of my family will play with me except James. And I have to allow him 3-letter words.

I hear you there. Taylor will play, Jeff just gets mad at me!

and wants 3 letter words for himself.

I'm going to have to look into this settlers thing

I'm going to have to see where I can get a game around here.

We try our best!

That's all we can ask. ;)

What, who me? Or all of these crazies?

A marv-ism! :thumbsup2

Oh boy, no wonder.

We can't all be Marv. (Can I get an "Amen"?!)

Sounds just like our house.

Yes, maybe we can trick our families into playing a game with us if it's something new.

Again, I would love to have the queen beds in a moderate if we weren't a party of 5. Wink, Wink. Nudge, Nudge. Say no more.

Monty Python references, I love it :thumbsup2

And Glen, I believe it goes like this: "A nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat, eh? "

Good LORD I can't keep up with this thread!!!

You'll find all you want and more, right here:

Thanks. I watched a game in Demo mode!

Okay, so I said "one-eyed" instead of "blind" -- pretty close!

And does it really end in "eh"?

AMEN and Hallelujah!

I think the original quote is actually "A nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse." I think the way Glenn said it is actually the way it was used in the Monty Python skit. It reminded me of some conversations I've had where the person I'm talking to just didn't catch on...:lmao:

SHE LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are we going to chat sometime soon??!!

And now I've seen EVERYTHING. A Glennbo report on page 2! :scared1:

So, what'd ya think of the game??

At first I thought you were joking about the blind horse thing, but I Google'd it and it looks like you're right! Good job Marvin.

Speak of the devil, right?

Thanks for rescuing me with a bump.

It looked good, but it seemed like there are a lot of strange rules...like they were making them up as they went. It probably wouldn't seem that way if I played it a few times and got familiar with it. In the Demo, people were very agreeable to trade Resource cards -- is it that way with your family? We have a hard time getting people to trade properties in Monopoly -- nobody wants to give anyone else an edge.

I'm just glad she's still living! Jen, post some more!!!

No, not that way at all, everyone trades a lot because it helps you too. But the later in the game it is, it can get tougher, but by then, you should have LOTS of other ways to get the cards you need. 3:1 trades, and such.

Gosh darnit, I wish we had like an extra 3 hours at the Meet, I'd love to bring my board and just show it to ya'll!

Sounds like a game of "Where is Judy-do?" :lmao:

I had that thought when I was writing that!

Maybe if you postponed your Disney trip a day.

:lmao: :rotfl2: You're hilarious Liesa! I'm still living, don't you worry. Just had stuff to figure out. Sometimes when that "stuff" can make or break a Disney trip or a DIS meet, I avoid the DIS to refrain from making myself sadder in the event I can't do the plans I originally had. Yes, we must chat soon. I posted tentative plans on your TR.... I think? This time difference makes it difficult to be on here at the same time urgh!
