So I totally haven't been around here a lot lately because I've been completely overwhelmed with life, but I figured I'd drop by to share my Britney thoughts and, of course, you guys have already started.
Lia, I agree. I was really underwhelmed. Like REALLY underwhelmed. The lack of plot upset me way more than it should have. I miss the days when Glee picked music that fit the storyline, not picked the music and then made up a pointless storyline just so they could use the song. Plus, the whole re-creating the music videos frame for frame was a little weird. Like, if I wanted to watch the Baby One More Time video, I'd watch it. Not the TERRIBLE Lea Michele version. I mean that was just awful. I liked Artie's Stronger when I first listened to it because it kinda reminded me of NSYNC, but the performance was boring. I mean, we already saw the football team dance and Single Ladies was waaaaaaay funnier. Again, I LOVE the Toxic cover (I've been listening to it non-stop since it leaked), but the performance creeped me out. I don't need to see Mr. Schuester perform that FOR REAL with his students. I was hoping it would just be a fantasy. But nope, it was a Britney Spears sex riot.
Thank god for Sue. Her entire 1968 Democratic National Convention speech KILLED ME.
And can Emma and Uncle Jesse stay together forever just so John Stamos can stay on the show? I loved her story about how he convinced her to mix the red and green grapes together. Oh, Emma, I've missed you so much! And Uncle Jesse needs to sing, STAT!
Brittany had several funny lines. And even though she isn't the greatest singer, GOD CAN HEATHER MORRIS DANCE. I have such a girlcrush on her. OMG. I wanted nothing more than to put on a red, pleather jumpsuit and get up and dance right along with her. Except I'm currently RIDICULOUSLY sore from my dance class, so I don't know how that would work out.
As per usual, this episode had me falling even more in love with Finn. His face during The Only Exception turned me into a giant puddle of goo. And his "They're personifying you!" line made me laugh hysterically. Oh, Finn, you adorable little idiot. I love you. Anyway, Rachel's been driving me nuts lately, so Ryan Murphy, will you cast me as Finn's new love interest? I mean, I can't act very well, but all I'd really need to do is lust over Cory Monteith and I'm already doing that from home. I'd love to put my lusting to good use.
After seeing the preview, I have really high hopes for next weeks episode, and if that disappoints too, I am going to be REALLY upset. I hate when shows I love start to suck. But I don't think it will. I mean, Puck's singing Billy Joel and Finn makes a "Grilled Cheesus" (and I think he's singing REM next week too). What more could a girl want? Y'know, maybe that's what the first 2 episodes have been missing. There hasn't been enough of the boys and there definitely hasn't been enough Classic Rock. We need some more Journey up in here or something.
