The MCLOVINS Hit the World - HARD!!!!! *COMPLETED*

Whew! I had to get all caught up from the crazy Disney bus update. Holy crap, that was HIL-AR-IOUS! Those poor, clueless Brazilians. My favorite part was the family in the back who kept going, "WHAT?" :lmao: I think after the third time I had to repeat something, I would have turned around and said, "Why don't you come up here and join the party instead of sitting back there? We don't bite, ya know!" :rotfl:

So glad you start to see the awesomeness of AK in this update. I  it there. So funny that you started the day shopping because on girls-only trips, we do the SAME thing. Forget fast passes, forget rushing to the Safari, forget EVERYTHING except hitting those main shops for some early morning shopping. We love those shops. I think it's because of all the beautiful details in there. It's not just ANOTHER gift shop. They're literally beautiful inside! Plus, AK gift shops often have things that are harder to find elsewhere. Idk, just what I remember from the past.

FotLK is beautiful. It makes me a little weepy-eyed too. The music from the Lion King is some of my favorite Disney music of all time, so I always get goosebumps. I can't wait to see it again in November/December! :cool1:

OMG, I REMEMBER THOSE MICKEY BARS!!!!! My mom used to buy them ALL THE TIME!!!! I agree, BRING THEM BACK, DISNEY!!!! Loved you hiding your mom's ice cream too. I would have done the same thing. :lmao:

Can't wait for more, Lia! :goodvibes

I would have done that except....... I do bite. And plus, it was just too funny to stop!

Yep, shopping at AK is kind of like shopping in a museum and getting to buy some of the stuff. Mom and I aren't commandos anyway. Like I truly don't get the point of running around the parks like a madwoman but that's me. :)

AHH omg I'm so glad you remember because they were my LIFE. They also made these ice cream cones that were called Goofy Cones or something. They were like the Drumstick ones with a chocolate shell and nuts on top except instead of nuts they had like multicolored crunchy sprinkles. SIGH WHERE ARE THESE ICE CREAMS MY GOD.

Love your breakfast. As you know from my report, I am also a complete heath nut. ;)

There must be something in the air because I, too, had the best day I've ever had at the Animal Kingdom this year. For whatever reason I always seem to be miserable there, but this year I developed a whole new appreciation for it. So yay Animal Kingdom!

OMG. My mom and I are notorious for saying weird words in funny voices over and over again. We drive everyone around us nuts while we just laugh hysterically at ourselves. We're really lame.

OMG AGAIN. I didn't even think to use those 20% off coupons on Mickey Rice Krispy Treats! I should have stocked up. :rotfl:

I love Festival of the Lion King. So much. The Finale medley of all of the songs makes me cry every time. What I wouldn't give to be a dancer in that show...

AH MICKEY BARS!!! I want one!! And I do remember the Simba's Pawprint bars! They were delicious.

Yes, I do know that about you and I expect those signed photos in my mailbox by the end of the week!!!!

OMG I'm so glad you love Animal Kingdom now!! And I love that you do that with your mom too LOL because people usually just look at us like we've just done crack.

Isfklsjdfkoaijsai I know. I want to be a performer at Disney so bad and if it wasn't for the fact that Florida is away from what I consider to be the center of the universe where I need to be, NYC, I would move. I would so. move.

It's okay that AK is not your favorite. :) I hate how it always seems 10 degrees hotter there than any of the other parks. Or maybe that's just me?

LOVE your pic of the lighting in Island Merchantile! And your EE pics! You really need to start submitting some of your pics in the appropriate photo contests in the photography thread!

I think that dress is cute! You didn't get it?

So glad you liked FOTLK. It always gives me goosebumps. :goodvibes I like being in the lion section because 'roaring' is the easiest sound to make out of all the sections! haha

You crack me up with your random rants.

You know what, I didn't even know there was a photo contest thread but I am flattered you think I would win!! Thanks Tinkgurlfriend!!!!

I didn't get it because I usually have a problem with dresses like this because of my large **** situation. However it's one of those things that I didn't buy and then didn't forget about... so I may just get it if it's still there on my next trip and then if I don't like the way it fits I will bring it back!

Roaring is totally the easiest and the COOLEST sound of all the animals. Being a Warthog is just awkward.

Well I'm glad someone is amused by them because usually people just try and shush me!

Woah, now, I come home on a Friday afternoon, happy that another school week is OVER, to find two of my FAVORITE TR's (you and Kara's :D) updated?!??! Yes. Now that's what I call a way to celebrate!

So, great update!! Aw, man. I wish I was in AK riiiiiiight now!

I absolutely LOVE all the pictures...does your camera make the colors even more vibrant or something? Cuz I feel like my camera is just blahhhhh, lol. Some of my faves were the Everest ones (I've never been on the ride, but can't WAIT to the next time I go!) because I'm just totally obsessed with the real-life Everest. :D I have prayer flags hanging in my room (loved that pic too!) if that's any indication. :)

Oh, and before I forget...what's your Twitter name?! I wanna follow you! :D

Okay, so speaking of the Festival of the Lion King dancers...it's one of my Disney-dream-jobs to be one of them, specifically the green one with a snake on her head HAHAHAH that just the one I always seem to see everywhere! Along with that, I would like to be the Tink that flies down from Cinderella's castle every night, a spieler on the Great Movie Ride, and a dancer in the Broadway-style Beauty and the Beast show. Maybe one of those shall come true when I do the College Program, which I'm totes gonna do someday- been planning on it since 2007!!!! :D

Sorry, rambling.

So, yeah! Loved it! Update soon!

OMG Kara updated her TR too? God. I always miss this. WELL I will be over there after this and your compliments are very flattering :) So thank you.

My camera kind of sucks actually, I edit most of them to make them look better. It can get very overcast in Orlando often, and that just dulls the beauty of Disney in a photo. Although, I must say, when it's bright and sunny out, no edits are needed because Disney is just that naturally stunning!

On twitter I am babybritney :)

I hope you get into the college program!!!

Don't apologize for rambling =) I love the long comments everyone leaves, it shows you guys are really like reading every word and that is so awesome. I mean, I started this TR mostly for my own memories and the fact that so many people have responded to it strongly is really really cool. I feel like I am reliving my trip with all of you, and that is such a good feeling and it makes the trip feel like it's still going on or something. So THANK YOU and thanks everyone!!!

Minnie's bake shop cookies! Those things are so good. I heard from someone I work with, who gave me a box for my birthday because she knows I love Disney, knows the person who makes them. Crazy. LOL.

That is awesome you had such a good time at AK. It is my second favorite park and I also don't understand people who don't like it/don't go there. Seriously people. I love it there!

FOTLK is an amazing show. I know I've gotten a bit misty-eyed at it too. It is really moving especially when they bring out all the dancers.

Can't wait to hear more about your AK day!

JEALOUS!! I wish I could eat them right now, dear God. I think on my next trip I will have to buy a ton of Disney treats and only allow myself one a month until my next trip!!! Is that not genius!!! I mean, I would have to tell my mom to hide them in a locked box in a room with lasers, but it would be so worth the trouble!!!

Pictures? Beautiful. Ice cream bar? Delicious. Pictures of all the stuff I've NEVER noticed before in that gift shop, even though I spent a good hour sitting in front of it getting a mermaid caricature? MIND-BLOWING.

That is so crazy! I guess I get all caught up sometimes in just saying "I'm in Disney World!!! WHOOO!!" that I miss out on all those little details. But come December, I'll be able to compare notes with the best of them ;)

Love the health nut breakfast...I don't even usually eat breakfast while in WDW. It tends to cut into my sleeping-in time that then prepares me for my EMH time.

And OMG, thos ice cream bars with the Mickey face and the chocolate-dipped ears?! Those were my FAVORITE when I was a kid!!!! It was the only kind of ice cream I wanted to eat, EVER. Disney totally needs to bring those back, in a big way.

Do you know how many times I have seen that dress and thought "I could totally rock the crap out of that..." but then left accidentally without buying it? (I should put a note in my iPod for the day we go to AK: Buy that dress you always want and always forget)

I feel the EXACT same about AK. I totally love it, I have a blast there every time I go. But I guess I just don't "get it" as much as other people do. I think it's a little intimidating to be honest. Plus it's always so hotttt.

And while I totally LOVED this post with the pictures and the awesomeness of the ice cream story (I would never be able to keep a straight face :rotfl:) please hurry to get to the noms post. I love those! :)

Honey I can not stress enough, and this will be the best Disney advice you ever get, on your trip STOP AND LOOK AROUND! Please. You will discover a whole other side of Disney you never knew! I'm so glad that people reading my TR are getting to see some of the stuff I've been obsessing over for years b/c it really is all in the details. :)

Here is more advice: GIRL MAKE THE TIME FOR BREAKFAST AT DISNEY. Just trust me on this one. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

OMG I'm so glad people are remembering the ice cream!!!

Hold your horses... update soon!

THANKS FOR READING!! :):)

Definitely :) Character Breakfasts are happening TWICE this time around so I'm so stoked about it :cool1: And I just might get Minnie's Bake Shop cookies to eat the other four days, lol!!

Girl, sorry it took me SOOOO long to finally read this update. I'm back in school and my house doesn't have internet =.=. So I've been spending more time at school. Yes.....MOVING ON.

What is this I hear of??? They sold Mickey bars outside of Disney???? How come Canada doesn't get any of this awesome stuff??? That has NEVER existed here man!! We're so deprived!!

I got a really cute bag at Disney too. It's a hobo-style bag(I think that's what they're called). Mine is in brown with little pink Mickeys all over it. I need to take a pic of it to show y'all too. It's super cute.

I noticed the stores at AK too! Did you know each store is themed? I read an article about it in Allears. I'll have to spend some time in the stores next time.

You're gonna kill me when you heard we chose not to see FotLK. We were just super tired on our AK day.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your super awesome day!

AWESOME!! I'm wondering which ones... either I'm drawing a blank or you didn't post them on your PTR. Probably the first one, LOL. I apologize for my blondeness.

And I just might get Minnie's Bake Shop cookies to eat the other four days, lol!!

That's a plan if I ever heard one!!!!!

No internet? :scared1:

Okay, you are really beginning to scare me with all this talk of awesome foodstuffs you don't have in Canada. Do you guys have running water up there or what?? I'm concerned. But yeah, don't feel too bad because the Mickey Bars are nowhere to be found these days. Sigh.

Can't wait to see that bag, I love Disney bags!!

I did know they all had a theme, but I don't know that much about it! I would love to read that article so thanks for telling me about it!!

And you are insane for missing FOTLK but you know what I always say... there's always next trip. You will never do it all in one visit and why force yourself to carry on when you're super tired instead of enjoying something another time while you're refreshed?

LOL @ you on your mom!! My mom and I do the same thing with the practical jokes! lol!! I loved your AK chapter because mostly I feel the same way! It's so underrated!

Day 4, Part 2 In Which Y'all Should Really Hold On!

After that farce (meaning: the one that is my life), we decided we should get over to Nemo before it got too full in there.

We were seated in the first row of the second section, which was perfect because the performers come into the audience and flail through this area. Also, we could rest our feet on the bars which was much needed now that it was day four!

The stage looks like this:
4995986264_eb309911a4_b.jpg

And before the show, Nemo swims in and out of those bubbles, so you constantly have to find him. This is pure Disney genius - the perfect way to distract kids from the fact that they have to wait 30 minutes for the show to even get going. You would be surprised how this game does not get old even after Nemo appears over and over. I know for a fact it worked on the kids, not only because they kept yelling out "THERE HE IS! THERE'S NEMO!" with great joy, but because I was too. Actually the first time it happened I was pretty startled and was all like "MOM!! MOM LOOK!!!! LOOK IT'S NEMO!!"

I just love that Nemo isn't even a memory from my childhood, I mean, I was 13 when I saw it the first time, and yet... it's Disney Magic at it's finest so it still effects me in that way where I experience such joy and wonder in this theatre. And that's exactly what I experienced when the lights went down and the performers hit the stage.

If you read a few chapters back, you know I have a HUGE soft spot and love for The Seas With Nemo and Friends at Epcot. I have to say, this show totally blew me away too. Nemo can do no wrong. I was kind of worried that I wouldn't feel the same way most people do about it, because a lot of them told me it was done in the same style as The Lion King on Broadway (which it is). I saw The Lion King on Broadway from the front row a few years back, and although it was amazing (the singers BLEW my effing MIND like you can't imagine, and I'm a singer who is around GREAT singers all the time and I was sitting there gob-smacked), I wasn't IN ABSOLUTE OMG LOVE OMG IT IS THE BEST SHOW NEW YORK HAS EVER SEEN UNPARALLELED OMG. As much as I hate to say it, I found the whole people-as-animals thing to be kind of awkward, the way they do it with the actors being puppeteers as well. For some reason, I didn't find the Nemo people as fish awkward AT ALL. Maybe I've just grown into the idea since I saw The Lion King, but I actually think I enjoyed Finding Nemo:The Musical a LOT more, even though it was way shorter and you know, not located in the Theater District, it was absolutely incredible and I can not wait to see it again.

Even though I've watched Nemo a million times, it moves me every single time, and seeing it performed LIVE by such talented people, with songs added, was so fantastic. Especially the Big Blue World song... like I said if you read my previous chapter you know how emotional it makes me!! IT'S A JOURNEY THAT NEVER ENDS, you guys. Life. You know? SOBBING NOW!! I mean, this was months ago and right now as I write about it I am moved! It is just an AMAZING show! I really hope the rumors of them maybe developing it into a full length Broadway show are true because I would LOVE that!

Seeing Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Musical back to back had me really missing home! I just wanted to run into the dance studio and put together some insane African choreography and just sing and dance my heart out! I found myself singing the songs pretty loudly as we walked through AK - I just couldn't help myself. The best part is, no one cared! It's Disney World. One of my pet peeves is that I am constantly told to SHH in life. I am always singing when it is inappropriate to. I get that I'm annoying. I always speak louder than I mean to. SHHHH. I hear it all the time. SHH. I hate it. GRR!! Yet another thing that I appreciate about My Happy Place - no one tells me to SHH.

By now, it was almost time for our FP window to open up for Everest, so we headed back over the bridge for our ride down the forbidden mountain. I couldn't help but quote my beloved Stacy.

4995986266_8b323fb0e8.jpg

IT'S YETI TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You're welcome. For... THAT. I know that this is not a picture of Stacy about to go on Everest but I found it captures her spirit well so there you go.

Four for you Stacy, four for you. LOVE YOU!!!!

Moving on.

Because of our FP we had no wait. You know, I hear this is like the best queue at WDW and I've never seen it, really. I mean, I always speed through with a FP or on the Single Riders line. I still see a little bit of it, but not enough. I think next time we have an FP I will stop and check everything out and take pics while letting people pass me and then I will just get on when I feel like it. I love Joe Rhode (the guy on the Disney TV specials with all the crazy cool earrings), who is an imagineer and was a major part of the creation of Everest, and I know about the insane and extensive research he did on this project so I REALLY need to take the time and look at everything!

Also - sidenote - I once saw Joe right before the Magic Kingdom was closing, sitting alone on a wall (I know that sounds weird. I can't remember exactly where it was) somewhere near Space Mountain, just people watching. I wanted to go over to him and be like I LOVE YOU! PLEASE PLANT SOME OF YOUR GENIUS IN MY BRAIN SO I MAY BE HALF AS AWESOME! But I just smiled. He smiled back. I LOVE YOU JOE!!!

The ride was epic, thrilling, and amazing as usual. The Yeti screamed at us again, that guy sure has an attitude if I've ever seen one! That drop has to be the best one at Disney. I have to say, Everest is one of those rides that after it's over, I immediately feel the need to get back on. That really doesn't happen with many attractions, just because there is SO MUCH to see and do that riding something again right away instead of seeing something else doesn't seem smart. But who cares about being smart? We rode that puppy again!!!!!! This time in the single rider line.

Of course any time I am single I get seated with people from foreign lands. Like I said in my Mission Space post, I enjoy foreign people so this is never a problem. This time they weren't so foreign - they just had southern accents. But still, to a Jersey girl, I'm like "YOU HAVE A SOUTHERN ACCENT. OMG. Do you own cows? Do you eat grits everyday? Do you remember the Alamo?"

The person next to me was a quite rowdy woman. Her son and husband were sitting a row in front of us. She of course began explaining her life story to me as soon as we boarded. This is just how people in the South are. In Manhattan, if you start talking to the stranger next to you they wonder if you're going to follow them home and rob them, but this was pleasant conversation, which I prefer.

She explained to me that they were from Texas and that they drove here which was NOT a good idea, not a good idea at all. They will never do it again. Next time they will fly, though, "Heavens, heavens, I hate flyin'!" Her son, her ONLY son, is 10. They come to Disney World every two years and - oh - we're starting to move now. Doesn't matter. She continues. She and her husband have been married for almost 17 years. She interrupts her story to yell "OOOH! HERE WE GO! HERE WE GO NAH! HOLD ON TIGHT Y'ALL! HERE WE GO!" I love southern people. I say y'all sometimes and my friends look at me like I'm high. It's not that I'm high, I just enjoy Britney Spears and Paula Deen, ok?

She turned to me and asked "Is this a scary ride?"

I held back laughter. "Uh... yeah? Yeah!!! I mean, it can be. It's thrilling. There are scary parts."

"HEY!!!!" she yelled up ahead. Everyone in our train turned around. "SHE SAYS THIS RIDE IS SCARY Y'ALL!!! HOLD ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOLD ON!!"

She turned to me again. "It doesn't go backwards does it?" I laughed this time. Couldn't help myself.

"Yeah."

"Oh, heavens! Oh God, here we go! BOYS!!!!!!! YOU BOYS HOLD ON!!!!! DON'T BE SCARED, IT'S OK! SHE SAYS WE'RE GOIN BACKWARDS Y'ALL. IT'S OKAY THOUGH. HOLD ON!"

Throughout the entire journey, she was yelling "HOLD ON! HOLD ON! KEEP YOUR HAND ON THE BAR! HOLD ON Y'ALL!!! WWHOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!" I have to say, Disney should consider adding her voice to this ride. It made it all the more enjoyable for me personally. Our entire train seemed to get a kick out of her too. She inspired me and I felt like singing THE STARS AT NIGHT ARE BIG AND BRIGHT *clap clap clap clap* DEEP IN THE HEAAAAART OF TEXAS!!!!!! (I refrained, for once.)

Once the ride docked, she was yelling about how fun that was. I said it seemed like her boy wasn't scared and had a great time. She laughed and said, "Oh, I wasn't worried bout the boy! I reckon he's fine. He's a toughie. My hubby's the one scared of these rides!"

Uncontrollable laughter occurred as we said goodbye and I went toward the exit to meet up with my mom, where I told her the entire story. She cracked up too and we talked about how much we love these characters we meet at Disney. It just makes the trip all that more fun.

By now, we were about to be late for our lunch ADR. Thankfully, it was right around the corner at Yak & Yeti!!!!! A place we had never tried before but I was SO excited for!!! Of course!!!!!!!

Up Next: Our yummy meal in Anandapur.

I love Nemo too. The songs are just so good...BUT they get in your head the rest of the day. I can't tell you how many times I've been shushed for singing 'Biggggggggggggg Blueeeeeeeeeeeeee Worrrrrrllllllllllldddddddddd'.

That has to be the most hilarious ride on EE ever. :)

I love the Finding Nemo show! The costumes, the songs and the actors are just amazing!

I love the Expedition Everest queue is awesome! I missed riding the Yeti this time but it gives me something to do next year!

It's nice to meet people while on different rides I think that has to do with being in Disney here in Michigan we don't usually strike up conversations with other people but in Disney it's just the natural thing to do

Can't wait to hear about Yak & Yeti!

Haha your ride on EE sounded hilarious. I love riding coasters and scary rides with people who are crazy :lmao: I usually have tears rolling down my face by the time it's over, they just make it so funny!

Yay!! I get told SHH all the time too. I hates it. I hates it more than peas, and I hate peas. A lot. But I love to sing.

p.s. I posted 2 videos of me singing in my PTR if you get bored and want to watch them.

Tinkgurlfriend, I would never shush you!!! God I love that song. All lovers of that song should ban together and hold our own parade around Animal Kingdom singing it!! We can do it during the same week we do our B*Witched performance LOL!!!

I agree, I think at Disney people are just more joyful and open. I think in our normal lives we spend too much time rushing around barely even noticing the random strangers we run into but at Disney I love meeting these people and hearing their stories!!

I know, it just makes the experience that more memorable! Like I said I always get placed with these kinds of people somehow!! :rotfl:

Well I would not shush you, whatever that's worth! ;)

I will check that out LOL. and omg, looking at your ticker.. I didn't realize how SOON you leave!!! 5 days my goodness. I'm jealous!!

Frankly, I don't understand how people DON'T burst out into "Big Blue World" after seeing that show. It's like the most catchy song ever.

Your Everest ride buddy sounds hilarious. I actually have Paula Dean's show on in the background right now, so I read all of that woman's crazy lines in her voice. It was quite entertaining.

I can't wait to hear about Yak and Yeti. I've always wanted to eat there. The words Yak and Yeti are both hilarious words, and I love to eat at restaurants with hilarious names. It's so fun!

I've only ready your first two installments but had to post so I could find you later. You , fellow diser, are hilarious and I cannot wait to finish reading. But my family is calling and their tummies are hungry!!! Will beging again later...

HAHAHA omg I love that because she sounded almost identical to Paula Deen. I was honestly wanting to be like "What are you even doing, just go make me some fried chicken already!"

Being that my mom and I are a collective age of about 12, of course the whole time we were goofing on the name Yak & Yeti which is absolutely a part of the next update. :thumbsup2

Well thank you SO much, how nice!! Don't worry... we DO eventually get to Disney in this TR, I promise. So keep reading. Heh. :wizard: Oh and :welcome: !!!!!!!!!!! :dance3:

That's just how us Southerners roll, Lia. We like our grits cheesy, our biscuits buttered, and our Alamo remembered, what more can I say?!

But seriously, I do stuff like this all the time in lines and my mom (who is from DC area born and raised) didn't quite get it for a while. She would always tell me not to talk to strangers, but I've never really met a stranger! I'm born and raised in the South :) But once I got her assimilated to Southern Culture, she does it alllllll the time now, lol!!

Can't wait for the next chapter!! Is that where the noms come in?!

I love you Southerners, I really doooo. Every time I visit the south I am more and more pleasantly surprised by the disposition of many of you. I don't think it's necessarily that you guys are nicer, I think every person is different, but it's like, you guys just take things a bit slower and don't have to deal with Manhattan traffic and therefore are in a better mood at all times. And I love it. And most importantly in Texas they have gigantic jelly beans which is a reason I will always return!!!

Texas also has me, which is even more reason. Just sayin. :goodvibes
