Wow, we really have a lot in common! I love all those shows. Boy Meets World is definitely at the top of the list. I don't know if you've ever seen it, but Danielle (who played Topanga) hosts a show called The Dish on the Style network. Whenever the show starts and she says "Hi, I'm Danielle" or whatever, I always yell back at her, "No you're not! You're Topanga Lawerence!"
hahahahaha, I knew that once Kara and I started talking about these shows, you and/or Yuki were going to jump in and say you love them too! And yes i've seen her on that show and she will always be Topanga to me too! I also saw her working on the Tyra Banks show and she is just so fun.
OK. I'm pretty sure that we are, like, twins who were separated at birth or something. Or maybe we share a brain. But we seriously have TOO MUCH in common. How have we gone so long without "knowing" eachother?
But yes, The OC is probably my favorite TV show of all time. I love it. I could watch it over and over. And I do. My sister and I are actually planning on watching the first season while driving to and from Florida. I can't wait!! And I completely agree with you, girl. Killing Marissa was a BIG mistake. She BELONGED with Ryan. I mean, Ryan&Marissa, Seth&Summer...that was how the show was suppsed to end!!! Josh Schwartz, I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!!!
And Gilmore Girls...That show and I have a serious love/hate relationship. Like I was seriously angry about where the writers chose to take the show on a couple occassions. I mean, my poor friend had to put up with many a Gilmore-related rant from me...mainly about how Logan is the devil. Because he is. I hated him and what they did to poor Rory...Stealing a yacht? Really, writers? Plus, Rory and Jess were absolutely perfect for eachother. Siiiigh...
As for Friends, I actually just recently started getting into that show. It's AMAZING. And I don't know what took me so long. I was really missing out.

I'm addicted, and showbiz isn't my life. Yet, at least. I'd love to write about TV. Like seriously, writing for Entertainment Weekly is pretty much my dream job. And I will make it happen. Even if I means living in a cardboard box in NYC until they hire me. I will just paint my box hot pink and cover it with glitter and be perfectly content with life.
God, so much to address here LOLOLOL.
1. WE ARE TWINS, period. Seriously, why couldn't we grow up next door to each other or something.
2. Ryan and Marissa are my ULTIMATE couple/OTP/ship/whatever. Even more than Luke and Lorelai. It's just so tragic. I think that the OC had the staying power to still be on today, they just ruined it so much. I don't see how those writers could write the perfection that was Season 1, near perfection that was Season 2... and then go into the weirdness. Like, I still love S3 and S4, but it's like my beloved characters were plopped onto this other show or something. Once S4 came along, it wasn't the same show to me. I still loved it, but in a different way. I haven't re-watched those episodes in awhile, and i'm kind of wondering what i'll think now since they're coming up soon. You're right, it was not supposed to end how it did. I loved Seth and Summer getting married but then that moment where Ryan and Taylor look at each other like they're next. Oh my God no. Not that I can imagine Ryan with ANYONE besides Marissa, but come on. Ryan and Taylor are not married. No.
3. Logan is growing on me as I re-watch. I know, it's weird, but he's charming and rich... the ultimate deadly combination. The ultimate problem that I have with him is that he IS NOT JESS, aka Rory's soulmate. Jess would never let her get into the trouble, or put her through the trouble, that Logan has. He would encourage her to just be who she is and not get involved in any BS. He wouldn't let her jump off that 7 story contraption with him. Maybe he'd do it, but he'd make sure Rory was SAFE. That is my main problem with Logan. It's not fun for everyone to just be reckless and annoying all the time. Just because you like to constantly annoy everyone, doesn't mean you should drag Rory into it.
4. Yay for getting into Friends!! You're lucky cause you can buy the seasons now for like $14.99 at Target. I bought them when they came out originally, aka, made my parents buy them b/c I was going to die if they didn't, and they were like 50 bucks each LOL. Still sooo worth it.
5. Seriously, don't ever give up on that dream. I love that you say you'll live in a cardboard box in NYC b/c not only will you probably have to, but that's part of what I say all the time when i'm talking about my sad, desperate, need to be on camera self: I'd rather be on the streets of NYC begging for change than in a sprawling mansion out in Kansas. Ya feel me? Anyway I may only be 20 but I'm not ready to give up. Not just yet. And you can't either!
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

BOY MEETS WORLD AND GILMORE GIRLS!!!!!!!!!!! That would be amazing
I started watching that show after it stopped airing too, in highschool. I took a media studies class and Friends won SO MANY awards and broke so many tv records. It's also the perfect example of the sitcom formula.
BTW, one of my psych profs in 2nd year looked and acted JUST LIKE Ross. I swear, everybody in the class thought so too. It was very cool
Yuki, I knew you were gonna get in on this LOL! I AM SO JEALOUS OF YOUR ROSS-LIKE PROFESSOR. I love Ross......... so much. And media studies is like, my life. Never took a class on it but i've lived it working for some people in Manhattan and it's fascinating to me. I really do think Friends is the perfect sitcom - the mix of comedy and drama, the non-sequitur jokes mixed with running, inside jokes... the message about friendship in general is just perfect. I wish it was still going on so bad.
Ohhh, I need to watch that show! Whatever happened to all those actors on the show anyways?
Check imdb.com for info on what they've been working on.
I do know a few things though... Rider Strong does indie movies, Danielle Fishel is a correspondent on the style network, Will Fridele does tons of voice over work for Disney, and Ben Savage enjoys a drink or two with the cast of Jersey Shore.
