The March 2014 Thread!!!!

We are making the trip from Aus on March 17 and staying at the Doubletree at DTD. I am a bit confused about the Fastpass situation. If we are offsite we can't use the Fastpass + and if Disney are pulling out the paper fast pass machines, what does that mean for us? We can't use the fastpass system at all?

Currently, there is a trial going on at Animal Kingdom, whereby offsite visitors are able to go to kiosks (well, at the moment it's CMs with iPads) on the day and book FP+ for that day. I suspect that by the time March rolls around, this will be available at all parks and, if not, they certainly won't have removed the legacy FP machines.

59 days to go!!! pixiedust:
I booked FP+ yesterday. It took about 70 minutes to book for 5 park days. It was a pain in the butt, but I got everything I wanted (although, I don't understand why some attractions like Figment and Maelstrom even have FP+ options. I've NEVER waited in line for either of them. In fact, over the 4th of July, my family of 6 walked on Maelstrom 6x in a row).
I got the server down error message EVERY time I hit DONE. I also noticed there weren't a large selection of times to choose from, even after going back in and changing a few. If selection times are sparse for on site guests, what does that mean for off site folks????
What have other March bookings been like???
29 trips to Disney World and counting...next stop POFQ March 2014:joker:

Added all of you! :thumbsup2 Has anyone else been having problems using the Dis on Safari? I have had to start using Firefox on my Mac because it is just DRAGGING so bad. I can write a whole page of text and it's barely gotten out the first sentence! I prefer to use Safari (all my passwords and such are already saved there, plus all my favorite sites...) and I haven't had the dragging problem on FB or other pages. Just on the Disboards forum?

I actually had to switch to safari for a bit...I have been using the app which kept shutting down.

The app is kinda slow today too...

All the FPP I've booked, I could pick anytime all day. I haven't seen anything that was sparse. But I'm not doing any meet and greets.

I use google chrome on my PC but I have been having trouble with the actual Disboards app on my iPhone and iPad. Very slow and not connecting. Constant error messages at times.

Thanks Jenny for the information, this is helpful to me. We are booking FPP on 1/27, now I know more of what to expect. I have been reading post for tips and what to expect when I book our FPP.

You're welcome AlohaAnnie! I'm just trying to save you all some grief and aggravation. So, if you get the Donald error message, everything should still have been saved.:)
58 days to go!!!:hourglass

Jenny, we love love POFQ!! The atmosphere, the initimate size of the resort, the staging and the boat to DTD are all part of what makes POFQ tops for us. I hope you have a magical vacation, and I'm happily envious of all the trips you've been able to make. pixiedust:

Hi Cinderella's Slipper!
This will be our third time staying at POFQ. I'm sooooo excited, because it's honestly one of my favorite resorts!!! Plus, it will just be me and my husband, alone for 7 days, no kids!!! Yay! We took them for 5 nights in July.pixiedust:

Oh, I love adult only trips - sheer bliss! Have a great time :thumbsup2

Thank you Wilma Bride! I have to say, WDW without kids is actually a lot more fun, relaxed, and leisurely. We plan on sleeping in every morning except for the day AK has EMH in the morning. I worked our FP+ attractions for the afternoons. We also have a lot of Signature restaurants booked, and there may be a little alcohol involved...LOL!!!:banana::banana:

My DD and I have a mix of early mornings/late nights planned. We are also looking forward to a more relaxed trip with it being just the two of us. Since my DD is turning 21 on this trip, there may be some alcohol involved on our plans too ;)

What day do you have AK EMH planned? We are going on our first day (the 12th) as, with the time difference, we will probably be up early :)

Oh no!! Hopefully you will get your approval quickly and you will be able to go on your trip!! Have you thought about renting a scooter? I have heard wonderful things about the Apple Scooters stroller rentals, so I know the company is really good.

Sorry but I haven't been back here until now... thank you! :goodvibes I dread the idea of a scooter! lol My husband wheeled me around many years ago, and said he would do it again if necessary. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it... trying to be positive! My procedure is next Thursday, a week from today. I'll have 6 weeks to recover so I'm hoping for the best.

Hi Wilma Bride!
EMH at AK are Wednesday, March 12 from 7-8am. That is the only day we plan to be at a park by rope drop.:)
Your daughter turning 21 at Disney will be a blast!!!!

Well, we are definitely at AK that day - plan to be there for 'rope drop' ourselves. We may see you - if you see a plump Mother/Daughter combo (believe me, you can TELL we are Mother/Daughter) give us a wave :)
