The March 2014 Thread!!!!

We are flying out MSY to MCO on March 1st. Southwest...funny if we were on the same flight! I can't remember but want to say its in the 10 o'clock hour, direct flight.

We had a trip to BC booked for the dates of April 30th to May 4th until I heard about the 35% discount on BC garden views rooms. A 35% discount for BC is really good, so I switched our dates to Mar 19 - 24th. :cool1: When I made a few ADR's I was able to book everything I wanted at the time I wanted, which was nice. :)

I would rather go to Florida in March than May, anyway. My only concern now is the crowds in March. Has anyone here been to WDW this time of year? Will it be super busy? We usually go in February because it is less crowded. But we wanted to go to the Flower and Garden Show this spring. :)

I just checked TP's for you and it does look pretty crowded. I haven't been during that time. But I wouldn't let that deter you! We went during Thanksgiving week last year and had an AMAZING time- and the crowd levels on TP's were all high. We didn't think it was level 9 crowded. Maybe I just picked the right parks to avoid the crowds, but I'm no longer as afraid of the crowd predictions.

According to Disney, spring break season starts 3/8 so be prepared for crowds. With that being said, you can see from my signature line that I usually go in the summer and you can imagine the crowds and heat. But we have never failed to have an absolutely amazing time! Just be smart about it, get there early and you can get SO much done, take breaks and get out of the crowds as needed........you'll be fine!!

Can't wait until Tuesday when I can hopefully apply the S/P/D discount!!

Well if I dont get free dining I think I am gonna skip it this time but I would be fine with a room-only discount. Anything would be ok! I am still keeping my fingers crossed that I get a FD pin!!

DH and I just booked our first visit as adults! DH's mom and dad are coming along. 1-7 at POFQ! Hoping to apply the S/P/D discount on Tuesday. We have two reservations though for the two rooms so hopefully I can get both. Oh yeah! New to Disboards also!:cheer2:

Count us in!! We will be at BWV March 16th - 24th. Right now it's a girls trip - me, my daughter and her mother-in-law!

We will be there at Christmas with the rest of the family but can't wait for the girls trip!

Thank you! I must admit, I've already read through yours! You have a ton of great info especially because we will have our DD who will be 2.5 at the time. It makes me feel a lot better knowing others take their little ones along at young ages! Especially when I am getting a lot of "she's way too young" from friends and such!

New to DIS, I love it here! My family and I will be taking our first family vacation EVER to WDW Mar 27-Apr 5. I am so excited I can hardly see straight. Reading the posts on this board have been a huge help. I was able to get all of the ADRs I wanted, even surprising the family with the Wishes Dessert party. I am looking forward to counting down with all of you.

TA just ran my numbers with both discounts:

Stay at POFQ, no dining: 2253

Change to POR, no dining: 2012

Stay at POFQ, add basic dining: 2604

With the first two I would have to pay for my food out of pocket and I was looking at maybe $600 (or more) for the 2 of us for the week, that was mostly QS with one TS out of pocket. So I can get the basic dining for about the same price as QS AND stay at my resort!

Basic dining is about $840 for me and my "Disney adult" daughter, my reservation now has only gone up a total of $274 when dining is added.......so basically I saved over $500 this morning!:cool1:

I hadnt planned to get dining but you cant pass up $274 for two people for the week............thats less than $20 per person per day! So basically my QS lunch and snack will be paid for and my TS dinner will be essentially FREE! (this is all Disney math! LOL!) You just cant beat 2 people eating at Disney for a week for less than $300.

And I already have dining reservations that I am pretty happy with:

3/1 - TRex dinner
3/2 - 50s Primetime dinner
3/3 - Ohana dinner
3/4 - Crystal Palace breakfast
3/5 - Chefs du France dinner
3/6 - Chef Mickeys dinner
3/7 - Rainforest Cafe breakfast

Great savings! What type of room are you getting?

Thanks for looking that up for me. :goodvibes I told DH that I don't care how crowded it gets, I'm very excited to be going at this time of year. We feel confident that we can adjust to the crowds. :wizard:

Congratulations to all the March people who are able to get great deals at POFQ. That is a really nice resort and it hardly ever gets good discounts because it is so popular. You are really lucky. When my sisters stayed there this past February, the RO discount was only 5%.

The RO this time was also 5%......if I had done RO I would have saved a grand total of $77 lol. Thank goodness for SPD!!
