The March 2014 Thread!!!!

Aw now way. Where did you read that? Can't believe they will have a mountain closed during the spring break period.

In a few Facebook groups I belong to, then googled "WDW refurbishments" and also its on this board under "Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies". I am afraid its true............but maybe it will be open sooner or maybe they will hurry and get Snow White's Mine Train open since we will be missing a coaster.

I'm here and joining in. We'll be staying at OKW from March 21-29. I'm especially getting excited since I can book ADRs tomorrow. :cool1:

That's the same day we arrive :cool1: OKW was the other resort I considered, but we ended up doing AKL. We'll probably do OKW next time, though. We ate dinner over there one night and loved it.

Excited to book our ADRs tomorrow too, even though it's only for a short trip. I actually can't believe the trip is that close already. Not like 6 months is "close enough"... but still. Things are getting real ;)

For once, I don't think I'm going to get up early to do our ADRs (4am out here in Colorado, yikes!) Nothing we are planning should be THAT hard to get, so I'll just get online when I do wake up.

Just realized today that I needed to update my kids ages in my siggy - they have turned 10 and 3 in the last 2 weeks, so Disney is now officially a LOT more expensive for us, lol!

Hopped on over here to check it out last night and was astonished to read flights sell out! I'm freaking out now! I too am making the great escape to WDW for mardi gras and love the direct flight on southwest from MSY to MCO. We already have our resort booked so dates aren't that flexible! We are booked for Villas at the Wilderness Lodge 3/1-3/6. Now, how are we going to get there?!?

Woke up bright and early this morning and got all my ADRs (and of course this was the one day that my kids actually did sleep in)! I don't know if I am 100% happy with all of them! so they might change! but for now we have CRT, mama melrose (this is one I am on the fence about, but we wanted the Fantasmic package is we chose this one), ohana, Tusker house, be our guest (really wanted to do lunch but since we are going during a peak time I was worried about having to wait close to a half hour just to order), San angel inn, and chef mickeys.

I'm not sure where you are exactly, but Jackson, MS has SW flights as well. But I will say that the drive from Hattiesburg to Orlando wasn't that bad for us- we drove in 2010 when we were living in the coast area.

We will be there at the same time!

Woohoo! Fellow Disers that will be there the same time as us. Gtpoohbear- my daughter is also 3. She turned 3 in June.

I also booked some of mine this morning, but had to stop to make an emergency run to the doctor. My daughter broke out in hives last night while we were at Disney On Ice. We weren't sure if it was the antibiotics she was on for a slight ear infection or something else so they wanted to see her this morning. She's on Benadryl now and no longer taking the antibiotics. We're not sure what caused it. Just have to watch her. However, I was able to get the following ADRs: Spirit of Aloha Luau (never done this and want to try it), Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, and Cinderella's Royal Table. We have done Be Our Guest several times during peak times and had no problems waiting. I'm still thinking of the following others: Biergarten or The Garden Grill, Tusker House, Whispering Canyon, 50s Prime Time or Sci-Fi Dine In (I want to do SciFi but am afraid my daughter will get scared from the SciFi movies.)

This will be the second year in a row that this ride will be closed when we're there. My daugher is not too happy

That's why I can't understand why they need to do such a thorough reno on this ride! It was closed for quite a while last year. What could be the problem!?!? !:confused3

I am a little upset about Splash Mountain as well. We have not ridden it the past 4 years because it has always been so cold. We were actually looking forward to it this year. Hopefully we get a discount soon and that will make the pain go away!!!!!!!!

That WOULD help the pain! :rotfl:

March 1-5 AS Music - My DD's dance team will perform in Down Town Disney. The dance team is traveling by bus! What fun we will have.

For the Mardi Gras flights, you have to be ready to book them on the day they come out - at least thats always been my experience.

Live and learn as they say! Thanks to this board for the heads up. I got tickets at an incredibly high price IMO. I paid $450 for two tickets Labor Day weekend (same flights!) and paid $1600 for three the week of Mardi Gras. Yikes! I'll definitely know better next time. Thanks y'all! :)

Wow, that's pricey! I think I got two from New Orleans to Orlando for $635. But like I said, I bought them EARLY on the day the window opened. I dont like it that they sell out so quickly. I wonder if there is any chance the price will go down closer to the flight day or maybe they will add more flights and be able to credit you the difference in price?

I'm hoping so! The flights/fare I booked is refundable so I'm still watching in hopes the price may drop. We could probably find a less expensive flight with a stop(s) but I prefer nonstop or the quickest route there. It will be my DD's first time flying.

We are staying at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge 3/1-3/6. Excited is an understatement!
