The March 2014 Thread!!!!

Thank you! I must admit, I've already read through yours! You have a ton of great info especially because we will have our DD who will be 2.5 at the time. It makes me feel a lot better knowing others take their little ones along at young ages! Especially when I am getting a lot of "she's way too young" from friends and such!
:goodvibes I am SO glad that you read it then! I HATE when I hear people say kids won't remember! Please tell me how my 2 year old knows about the castle and Dumbo then! :rolleyes2 I can understand if it's a "once in a lifetime" trip and you won't ever be back to wait… but if you do disney right you will WANT to go back and it won't be a one and done type thing! ::yes::

Basic dining is about $840 for me and my "Disney adult" daughter, my reservation now has only gone up a total of $274 when dining is added.......so basically I saved over $500 this morning!:cool1:

...
And I already have dining reservations that I am pretty happy with:

3/1 - TRex dinner
3/2 - 50s Primetime dinner
3/3 - Ohana dinner
3/4 - Crystal Palace breakfast
3/5 - Chefs du France dinner
3/6 - Chef Mickeys dinner
3/7 - Rainforest Cafe breakfast

YAY for saving money!!! And YAY for those ressies! I LOVE Chefs De France! The Lobster Bisque is amazing!

Thanks for looking that up for me. :goodvibes I told DH that I don't care how crowded it gets, I'm very excited to be going at this time of year. We feel confident that we can adjust to the crowds. :wizard:

Congratulations to all the March people who are able to get great deals at POFQ. That is a really nice resort and it hardly ever gets good discounts because it is so popular. You are really lucky. When my sisters stayed there this past February, the RO discount was only 5%.
No problem on looking it up for you! Happy to help! I think knowing it will be crowded is good. You will plan accordingly and be ready! :thumbsup2

I can't WAIT to see Port Orleans Riverside. I think it's going to be a great spot for us! :cloud9:

You know, my DH went when he was 8 and doesn't remember a thing! That's what I tell everyone who makes that comment to me. We have a camera, will take lots of pics and videos and as long as we keep talking about Disney and the trip with her, I'm sure she will have some memories!

Oh, yeah, well, I can't remember what I had for dinner some nights… should I stop eating then? :rotfl:

I think kids these days have a better chance of remembering, because we can document so much of their lives like never before! I mean, my PHONE will take their picture!

Sooooo excited!! :cheer2:

I just couldn't resist the S/P/D promo and booked a king room at POFQ for March 1-5. Then I made dining reservations for dinner at Garden Grill, Boma, Le Cellier and 'Ohana.

Looking forward to a fun, romantic trip with DH... princess: pirate:

UPDATE: we are now taking our kids (ages 14, 11 and 7) in early June and staying offsite at Caribe Royale. :)

Awesome Betsy!! We will be there at the same time, same resort......hope you have a great trip!

139 days!!!!!

We are booked March 9-15 at BCV. First time for DD 7 and DS 10. Getting excited but still a long wait!

I have a question does anybody know when can we start picking out our colors for the Magic Band???

Thanks in advance:thumbsup2

It most likely won't be any earlier than 60 days out from your check in date. Disney hasn't really been too clear on the future dates for their Magic system.

Looks like the flights out to MCO the day before our reservation on the 1st are so much cheaper! The price difference causes it to be cheaper to book another day in Disney! We'll be getting there on the 28th now! Wooo to an extra day!! :cool1:

That's why I decided to go on the 28th........I figured it would be cheaper and you get an extra day!!

Yes, I am so glad I checked out airfare for the day before! I think we are going to try out a different resort for the first night instead of adding to our package.

I made my ADRs a few weeks ago and today when I got my credit card bill had been charged for a few (like I expected). But I am curious, how does this work with the dining plan? Do I just get reimbursed after our trip? And what if we decide not to get the dining plan, do we just get charged the difference of our meal?

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Woohooo doing the happy dance. Thanks to my cousin Carmie, I'll be joining an all girls trip from March 9 through 16, 2014. We will be staying offsite at her timeshare. I am thrilled to be returning this soon, as I thought it would be at least 5 years before I could go again. I will miss the dining plan and the transportation yet the opportunity to go was one I couldn't pass up - and I hope with a little pixiedust: nothing else will go wrong before travel time.

Today a package came from the Disney Store addressed to DH. I called him and asked him, what the hell? He told me I should open it up and inside was the Dooney and Bourke Disney bag that I had been salivating over! He said he thought I needed a new bag for our trip! I am so surprised and happy that I just had to share with someone!

What ones had charged you?

I heave09, I'm so happy for you. Sounds like you got some great pixie dust. I couldn't help thinking that was such a thoughtful thing for your DH to do. So now we need a picture.

It was some great pixie dust! Especially coming from a man who is not about surprises, he made me pick out my engagement ring for goodness sake! :lmao:
