Diorshow is very popular, but I don't like it at all. It did absolutely nothing for my lashes other than maybe give them some color. No lengthening or thickening whatsoever. I think maybe the people who love it so much have very long, thick lashes to begin with and don't really want or need much in the way of thickening?

My lashes are a decent length and alright volume. Next month is the Nordstrom mascara event and I'm hoping to try that YSL one everyone raves about.

.....
And MASCARA ~ Have you tried Blinc? It's hard to get off, even when you wash your face.

WOW! I just checked out Blinc's website. That looks awesome! :cool1: I think I'll try it next. Where do you get your's? I noticed it said something about Sephora. We only have Sephora in JC Penney's here. Maybe they'll have it. Looks like I'll be taking a quick trip to the mall. :cheer2: I did read a review that said once you get 1/2 way through with the mascara, it starts to really clump & get flaky. Did you notice this also?

ALSO---I bought one of those $30 Oil of Olay face brush things. It seems to work okay. Is the Clarisonic (spelling?) really $100 better? I have huge pores on my cheekbones & it's just looking OLD :( I would love any advice on it.

Do you use any chemical exfoliants like an AHA or BHA? That's what has great improves my pores.

There was a thread on the budget board not long ago and those who tried the olay and Clarisonic said the Clarisonic was much better. I really like my Clarisonic but have never tried the olay one.

Ooh, I need to join in on this thread if only to say that I love, love, love my Clarisonic and I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. My skin just looks healthier and smoother when i'm good about using it.

So darlings, eventually it'll be hot & humid (it's only about 50 degrees where I am in VA today, brrrr!)

Last year I could never find a blush that would last all day in the heat & humidity. Any product reviews or recommendations? I'd really appreciate it! I tried BE blush, a Mary Kay cream blush (liked how easy it was to apply, and it stayed, but I hated the color!) and a regular blush - I think it was a Cover Girl Cheeker?

So, what are your must use makeup products when the weather outside is hot?

Okay, our JCP Sephora doesn't carry BLINC :( So, I walked over to Dillard's & paid $30 for Diorshow (waterproof.) After wearing it to church today & dealing with my watery eyes, I already know I don't like it. :faint: I will be taking it back this week! So, I'll go to ULTA & see if they carry BLINC. If not, I'll just order it online from Sephora.

The only skincare products I use are Clinique. I think that's where my problem is. After investing in almost every single wrinkle/eye bag/moisturizer/pore refiner they carry, I still don't see an improvement on my skin after 2 years. Can everyone tell me what you use on your eyes & LOVE? I don't have puffy eyes--they sink IN & I have dark circles. It seems I read (several pages back?) that someone was using a Clarisonic/type eye brush for their eye cream. Can that be right? For my face, I think I'm sold on the Clarisonic. That will be my little treat. It costs about as much as 3 facials, right??? ;)

I use a retinol cream at night and a product called FIRM-X during the day. The retinol cream you can get at any grocery store or drug store. I get FIRM-X at Sephora and it is very pricey, but worth it. I started the retinol cream when I was in my 30s. My skin was very dull with large pores and I once I started the retinol I began noticing an immediate improvement. I've been using the FIRM-X for the past few years and although it is touted mainly as a firming cream I've noticed the main difference in the fine lines around my eyes. Maybe some firming, too. At any rate, I'm 50 and very pleased with the way my skin looks. It looks better than it did when I was in my 30s.

I keep hearing about the clairisonic and although I love to try to new things, I'm hesitant to do so because I'm so happy with my current regimen.

I saw this on Sephora's website: Urban Decay Custom Palette. Pretty cool concept; you buy individual eye shadows and snap them into this travel size carry case. The travel case comes with an eye shadow and has 6 holders. Retails for $18. Individual eye shadows are also $18 each. Once you buy the case, and 5 more eye shadows that will have set you back $108! :scared1:

I'm on the fence...love the idea of custom building my own pallet, but $108 for a total of 6 eye shadow colors (plus case) is a little hard to swallow. I'd probably buy the Naked Palette (12 colors) for $50 before I buy this.

What are your thoughts?

I saw the UD palette when they first released it. I'm not a fan of it at all. I'd prefere to buy Inglot singles from their freestyle system. They're only $5 each.

disneydreamin247, I remembered that you do Viggle as well and redeemed for Sephora gift cards....did you hear that Sephora changed their e-gift card policy? (This was awhile back.) It's a limit of 3 e-cards per order. (No more calling Sephora reps to add more...) Kinda sucks, but I still redeem for them. Do you?

I stopped using Viggle when they kept changing their policies and making it harder to earn rewards. I did know Sephora changes their policy but I was able to call and have a manager convert my GC to store credit in my account and use them that way. I had $120 in GC to use! No way was I losing out on them.

who can recommend a face wash for oily skin? My t-zone is sooo oily. I don't have acne though, and everything I see for oily skin says "oily skin and acne" and includes acne medication in the cleanser, which I don't want.

I now use that monostat chafing gel before I put on makeup, and it works great.

BUT, I'd love a face wash for morning and night to also help. Right now I'm just using Cetaphil, and when I wake up in the morning, I feel like an oil slick is on my face (yuck!!)

and I'm 44, so I guess I have *mature* skin (??)

bellebud,

I don't know if you were looking for a drugstore type cleanser or something that cost a little bit more, but I use Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash (from Sephora). It does not have Salicylic Acid. I have very oily, and acne prone skin, and I don't even like Salicylic Acid....it dries out my face! :headache:

I've made some recent finds lately and thought I'd share my experiences:

For those who have problems with silicone face primers (like me), I found a non-silicone one that works great. It is from Korres. A little pricey, but a little goes a long way!

I've recently discovered NYX at Ulta - their eyeshadow singles are AMAZING! They have tons of colors and they blend well, then stay put! They are only $3.50 and are much nicer than all of the HE shadows I have tried.

I also started using ELF eyeshadow primer - $1 at Target! So much better than UDPP!

Still on the hunt for an eyeliner that goes on nicely - meaning not having to apply too much pressure or going over the same line 50 times to get color. Not a fan of liquid liner and all of the pencils I have tried are very hard, almost like a pencil lead. Any recs?

Have you tried the Urban Decay or Make Up For Ever pencils?

Both Urban Decay and MakeUp Forever go on very nice. Mac also has a good liner pencil. But if you want a really good stay on liner try the smug pot ( or whatever they are called). You use a brush and they go on really nice.
