Why would we mind?? :confused3 :welcome:

1) I can not say enough good things about Too Faced Lash Injection. It's not marketed as waterproof, however I am able to wear it to the waterparks, or all day sweaty at a park - and it doesnt smudge, flake etc. I love that stuff. (check out www.beautycrunch.com - for good prices on it!)

2) You need something with a yellow in it. Do you use mineral makeup? Id you do - you should try a yellow based undereye concealer. I know everydayminerals.com , has one.

Undereye circles - when theyre from allergies - are a tough one. You cant really 'get rid of it' - you can cover it, though.

And lastly - my DR saw my dark circles and said 'you should take a benadryl when they get like that' and I did - and it made it WAYYYY better!

HTH!

Thanks for the Too Faced recommendation! I'll have to give that a try.

I don't use mineral makeup--I use Estee Lauder Double Wear Powder Foundation (it's pressed powder in a compact, not loose minerals). It works quite well, so that's one thing I'm very happy with. This is going to sound dumb, but my skin has pink undertones, so I always thought that yellow primers wouldn't work and would look weird on my skin tone. I'd go with the Benadryl (and I do take them when I'm desperate, LOL), but they put me to sleep. I'm guessing my boss might have a slight problem with me sleeping at my desk! ;)

1) Every single mascara I've tried smudges or flakes underneath my eyes. I have very deep set eyes, so that is probably a lot of the problem. I've tried everything from the cheap Cover Girl Great Lash to expensive Lancome mascara, and nothing works! Waterproof doesn't smudge as much, but it does within 4 hours of me putting it on, especially if it's hot outside. I don't touch my eyes, so I'm not sure what the deal is. Any suggestions?

I am always on the hunt for the perfect mascara. I own and have tried quite a few. I have Lash Injection (both regular and pin point), Blinc Kiss me, Bad Gal lash, Lancome Fatale (major smudging), Cover Girl Lash Blast, Maybelline Great lash, Loreal Double Extend mascara, Chanel inimitable multi-dimensionnel (non-waterproof; I'd like to try the waterproof version someday because I do like this mascara but it eventually smudges), and Diorshow Blackout, waterproof - this one clumps and some have told me it's because it's waterproof so I may try the non-waterproof at some point. I probably have a couple more that I cannot think of.

None of them are perfect but some are better than others. I know that Lash Injection is popular, but for me both the regular and pin point both tend to clump but if you can somehow prevent that from happening (maybe a lash comb), I don't think you'll have a problem with smudging and flaking etc....

Right now, my all round favorite of the ones I own is Loreal Double Extend mascara. It lengthens/extends and separates and defines but does not really volumize. BUT it lasts a LONG time and doesn't smudge, smear or flake at all and it doesn't clump. I even sleep in it. Right now it's available at my Walmart in a double pack, buy one get one free for $8.97 which is an amazing price.

I'm still hunting though so I'm always reading about what others recommend.

Good luck on your quest!

Hey ladies, I haven't checked in here since the first time I posted. :goodvibes

I need a few recommendations...

Foundation
I need something that will be super matte, for really oily skin. It is so hot & humid where I live that I turn into a greasy mess within an hour. I have a bit of redness in my face that I would love to cover. I'd like for it to still look natural, not like I have eight inches of makeup on my face. My most recent foundation is MUFE's Mat Velvet. It is neither mat, nor velvety. Before that I tried their HD foundation and I hated it. HD never looked so awful.

Matte Gray nailpolish
I can't find one that is a true gray. Everything I'm finding is too silver or too shimmery. I posted about this in my first post, but it got lost. :confused3

Last one...does anyone know if any product exists that will help stop someone from biting the skin around the nails? It is my (really gross) nervous habit and 99% of the time I don't realize I am even doing it until I start bleeding. :scared: Because of this my nails always look crappy and it ruins every manicure I ever get.

Thanks in advance :flower3:

I am currently using the Lash Injection. I like it better than what I used to use, which was Loreal Voluminous, but I still don't feel like it's absolutely perfect! (Is there such a thing?)

Anyway, I saw on my email from Sephora that their customers' favorite mascara is Diorshow Mascara. You mentioned that you aren't happy with the waterproof but haven't tried regular. Has anyone else tried regular? I'm dying to know what is so fab about this mascara!?!

Yes, Diorshow Blackout gets rave reviews and that's why I bought it. But I like waterproof and bought that.

It can clump and so it's hard to layer. I was told by those that love it that it's probably because it's waterproof.

If I ever buy the non-waterproof, I'll let you know what I think.

I'd say of all my mascara's it's my second favorites.

I've also heard great things about Diorshow Iconic so I'll eventually give that one a try, someday. ;)

I have oily skin and I use Everyday Minerals in the matte formulation. This works well although I've always had to reapply throughout the day due to oily breakthrough - typical for me though with all foundations. However, within the past few days I've been experimenting with the Monistat and started applying a very liberal amount - to the point that my face feels icky and slimy. :scared: Having oily skin to begin with, it was hard for me to believe that it would actually help control the oil, but I've been able to go ALL DAY without touching up my makeup. Granted, it's not hot and humid, but I did go for an hour long walk and my makeup still looks like I just applied it. This is unheard of for me. Can't wait to see how it holds up in WDW!

For those that think that Lash Injection clumps too much I would recommend you try Fiberwig. I got a tube at Sephora and it claims "no more Panda eyes". I tried it and it stayed on all day! It made my lashes look longer, but not thicker. I liked the fatter lash look of Lash Injection, so I took it back. Fiberwig costs around $22.

If you are looking for a good drugstore brand, I think L'Oreal Double Extend is the best I've seen.

I've been trying different samples of liquid foundation and so far I'm loving Estee Lauder Futerist in Pale Almond. I'm bummed that Ulta is discontinuing it's smoothing foundation. Estee Lauger is over 3 times the price :scared:

Hmm...it looks a little blue, but it may be the lighting. Regardless, even if it isn't gray it is really pretty. I love Essie nail polish. That stuff doesn't chip on me for a least a week and half.

Oh, I should have mentioned that I have used EM and BM both before and they both made my face so incredibly itchy. I don't know what caused it, but I had to stop using them. It was years ago though, so maybe I should give EM another shot...

I'm currently using Smashbox's photofinish primer light and I'm not liking it. I have used the regular one before and loved it, but thought it was too thick so I figured getting the light would be best. It doesn't do anything for me and just makes me feel even greasier. Once I run out I plan on trying the Monistat :thumbsup2

I'm going to look up Fiberwig online too--thanks! It's not cheap, but I am an Estee Lauder foundation girl myself. I wear the Double Wear Powder Foundation in Shell (the lightest color they sell). I can't wear drug store makeup foundation because none of them come pale enough, LOL!

Eye Hope Advanced from Philosophy comes out May 1. If you happened to read the last few pages of this thread you will see I have been using it for two weeks (sample) and it does work. It has nicinimide(sp) which is according to Dr. Oz is the only thing that will clear your circles. Get a couple of samples at Macy's or Nordstrom's I am betting they will be pushing it since it comes out on the first and try it. It really does work.

Oh man! I got roped into going to a makeup party for a gal who sells Arbonne. I have tried Arbonne and I don't like it any better than anything else I'm using. She said she has makeup tips from a Hollywood makeup artist who uses only Arbonne on her clients. At least maybe I can learn some good tips and use them at home with my own makeup!

Now, I do have to warn you, the Monistat does make my face FEEL greasy at first. I think the tendency for us girls with oily skin is to use anything we can think of to dry it out and shy away from anything that adds moisture or shine. But I think you'll find that once you put on the foundation, it will mix well with the mosistat and look smooth and finished - not powdery and not oily. And best of all, it acts as a barrier and prevents the oil from breaking though. At least for me it does. :thumbsup2

True. You kinda have to let it 'dry' before applying your makeup. Wait until it feels powdery.

Extensions yet? :confused3

But that's the weird thing - mine never gets to the point where it feels powdery. It looks powdery, but doesn't feel powdery - feels kind of gross actually, until I put my makeup on. Maybe I'm applying too much, but if I am it's working for me because I am getting NO oily breakthrough.

No extensions yet. My appointment isn't until 5:30 and time is absolutely dragging. I am very excited but also very nervous - don't know which one is winning out. I mean, this isn't like your normal cut and color appointment, you know? And then I started looking at my hair today thinking to myself 'you know, it's really not THAT bad'. Typical pre-buyer's remorse, I do it all the time. Then I came to my senses and realized 'yes, you idiot, it really IS that bad'. :lmao:

It's tonight??? COOL!

But 5:30??? Youre gonna be there all stinking night!!

No excuses - you better post pics!! **shake fist**

Fnd out what brand theyre using too - I'm just curious what other salons are using.

Arelys- I love Laura Mercier oil free foundation and her oli free primer.

Not sure if it is going to help with the dark circles yet (only have used it 2 days now), but the skin around my eyes already feels better and my makeup goes on much smoother. Even with the foundation primer it would be kind of cakey like under my eyes if I wasn't careful, but with the Eye Hope my skin is moist and it goes on better. Can't wait to see what else it does. :woohoo:

IF you do not have the ADVANCED it most likely will not help with the circles. The advanced comes out May 1.
