So terribly busy at work.

This is a drive by *hi*.

Hair show was fun. Saw Nick Arroggo and Kim Vo.

Ummm.... got a big old thing of Moroccan Oil (a set) with all kinds of stuff in it. Ill have to look at it better.

All in all - it was wonderful, but Im too busy to update right now. Im sorry.

Ill try and check in tonight.

Im glad everyone is still here. :)

Did they give you the MO free? or do they make you pay for it? I really must say that I still love it. I got some of the Frizz stuff from sephora and it is supposed to be great for your hair and keep it clean and blah blah blah and it is developed by some guys at MIT but really I switched back to MO and my old flat iron. The new one Solano was burning my hair.

I had a neighbor who sold Mary Kay and I didn't care at all for the skin care products or the mascara (horrible!). But I did like the lipstick (I'm not picky at all when it comes to lipstick - basically if I like the color and it doesn't have the taste and consistency of wax, I'll wear it). The eyeshadow was good, too, IIRC. The prices are actually very reasonable considering most of the home-party stuff you see is horribly overpriced for what you get.

I really like their mascara! But, I am not at all picky, and I have pretty "good" lashes anyway. I do like their oil-free moisturizer for oily skin, but don't care for the cleanser or toner. I like Mary Kay lipsticks, too. Nice colors and they wear well.

I must say the down side to beauty crunch is that they do take a long time for the items to arrive. That is why I went and got make up at the Company Store just to tide me over. I too have spent a boat load of money on make
but I also have a friend who buys tons of the good stuff and then never uses it and gives it to me. She gave me a Laura Mercier powder/cream shadow (one side powder one side cream) in gold the other day. This summer she must have given me about 1000 worth of make up she never used still in the boxes....Dior, Givinchy, Shu Urimia(sp) , Mac ....I could go on and on..and she gave me a huge make up case too. I look at those collections that the people send in to beauty crunch and I laugh. I really have too much and I could never use it all but I keep buying more. I told you guys I was an addict. I think it is because my mother would never let me get make up when I was younger so now I just go wild. I am going to try and suspend buying make up for the next two months. I pray that BC does not have another sale although I did resist the Too Faced sale. Ifilled my cart three times and then did not buy it. LOL

I didn't buy anything from Too Faced site either. And they just added some Teddy Bear Hair brushes! But I'm not paying for any more shipping.

The thing that bugs me about beautycrunch is that if they want to charge shipping at least get here in a decent time frame. My Nordstrom order will take 5-8 days but at least they didn't charge for shipping (yes, I bought enough for free shipping, but I am going to have a kick-butt collection of brushes).

Actually my first two BC orders had free shipping because I got the make up when they had the blow out sale. Of course they casued me to spend over 50 I think or maybe it was 35 I do not remember. ONly one of my BC orders did I pay for shipping. When I pay a low price I do not care all that much but it is not worth it to get only one item b/c it puts it up to the regular price sometimes.

Smashbox Halo - love it
concealer for spots - BE bisque (I use summer bisque) with a concealer brush is like a little eraser for your face

I use a nighttime eyelash tonic by DHC.. mostly olive oil. It's about $9 a tube. I've been seeing a lot of ads for Peter Thomas Roth eyelash conditioner for $125!!:scared1:
Anyone use this or something equilivilant? Does it really work that well?

I got my Everyday Mineral samples today. I think I may have found a color on the very first try. :cool1: But, I'm doing the test like they say so I may be jumping the gun. I've been using BE for about 2 + years and so far what I am noticing is the EM is a little finer powder than BE is, seems like it covers a little better (but it is hard to tell with just using your finger) and the jars seem nicer. I like the lid is one whole piece of plastic and doesn't have that paper card board thing glued in the top of the lid.

One question about the EM.....what is the difference between the types of foundation. I got matte finish because I wasn't sure what to get, but I wonder what the semi matte, intensive or original glo would be like.

I got two sets and tried all the finishes. I think the intensive is better for oily skin since it is really strong. They suggest semi matt for dry skin. It is hard to tell what you want unless you actually try them. When you get them for real you will see the size of the conatiner is bigger than the BE. I really like them a lot and I am thinking of trying the eye shadow. AFTER my my two month moritorium on buy make up is over.

I've seen this in ULTA. I just checked makeupalley.com and didn't see any reviews. It must be brand spanking new. $125 though, yikes! I'd rather get a script from my dr for Latisse (sp?). I'm due for an eye appt, I'm going to ask if I can get it.

Anyone use Pur Minerals? I have been using the EM samples but so far, the coverage isn't as much as I need so I thought I'd try another foundation product. A friend said she is using Pur Minerals and that it covers better than any mineral she's tried. She got the starter kit for $35 and it's lasted 6 months now. Figured it might be worth an investment.

I haven't used that brand (yet ), but I thought the EM did pretty good with coverage. What "finish" did you try? I tried the matte and it didn't seem like I needed as much of the EM as the BE. You just started to use the mineral make-up, right? I know that when I started using BE it was hard to figure out how much and to understand that you need to do lots of layers to get the coverage that you need. Plus, I think since it doesn't have that mask feeling you get from some liquid foundations, you automatically feel like it isn't giving you enough coverage.

need tips of covering acne please!

I don't have any specific acne covering tips, but I do the same thing as somebody else said. After I put on my mineral foundation, I cover up whatever needs extra coverage with some Bare Minerals in Bisque. I use a little brush and just dab it where I need it.

I'm a Beauty Insider now! I went to Sephora yesterday. I haven't been to one in a long time because there's not one near my house. However, I was moved to a different building for work and now I work near a mall with a Sephora. Earlier this week I was at Ulta and tried some Pink Sugar perfume. I liked it a lot. I thought I would try it again yesterday. Since I have two wrists available, I tried another perfume - Be Delicious. OMG! :lovestruc I loved it!

Just the night before, I had come up with a plan for getting more exercise. Exercising on the weekends is no problem, but it's really hard for me to find the motivation on weeknights. I'm getting a point for each 10 minutes of exercise I do. Each point is worth $1 for a splurge item, such as new perfume. I have 3 points accrued so far! :cheer2:

Okay tell me if this sounds crazy. You guys all know how monostat works under make up....what do you think it would do under lipstick? I thought about trying it but my husband said you better check out if it is safe for consumption because he did not want to end up in the ER with me and be embarrassed.

I've used Pur (I think I mentioned it earlier in this thread). I think it covers better and smoother than BE. I'd recommend it at least for a try.

If you like BE, I think you'll like Pur at least as much.

I would imagine if we've all been using it on our eye lids, it would be safe on your lips.... dont you think?

The Moroccan Oil - They gave out tons and tons of mini samples - perfect for traveling, but I also bought the full size bottle, a styling cream, an overnight repair - all of which came with 2 mini's for $40. Im super happy with it. Very nice stuff.

I bought a RUSK set that's all in the blue/purple "brightening" line. Gets rid of yellow and brass in blonde hair - that was $10, for S&C, Spray Shine and Hairspray.

I bought 2 bottles of CHI Tone & Shine (it's new) Again, with the color conditioner. I hate brassy blonde. I'm a big fan of platinum. :lovestruc

Ummm - I got a lipgloss and an eye shadow from TiGi. We actually have changed our 'plan off attack' for next year. We always get to the TiGi booth in the later afternoon, and they run out of stuff. Argh.

I bought some Medusa makeup - those were 6 for $22. :cloud9:

Ummm.... what else - I got some OPI polish. 2 colors are so similar, I dont know what I was thinking. Strawberry Margarita and Elephantastic Pink are the two I did that with. Doh. :headache:

I got a new straightener - CHI for $60. Then I had some sort of DOH moment again, and bought a Mini Chi - for $60, too.... for all the traveling I do, apparently. I have no idea why I bought that thing. It was just so cute. :confused3

OH - I got a S&C set of the S Factor by TiGi, as well as the guy's line S&C. Those were $5 each.

I got Back To Basics Pomegranate S&C for $15 - the big ol' liter ones.

I think I told you I saw Nick Arrogo and Kim Vo, right?

I can't think - I can tell you this - I spent $400, so I got a lot of crap.

ANd I type this out from Strawberry Margarita'd nails. :)

You sure did get some AWESOME items!!! You are going to have so much fun with everything!! ::yes::

I think the intensive is better for oily skin since it is really strong.

Now I have oily skin and I use the matte thinking that it would do better in controlling the shine. I really don't need much coverage, so I've not considered the intensive, but now I'm wondering if it might be better at controlling oil than the matte. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Even with the matte, I still have to touch up throughout the daty to get rid of the oily breakthrough.

MPA, do you know if I can get this from my plastic surgeon, or do I have to go to an eye doctor for it? I don't even have an eye doctor and I'd much rather get it from my plastic surgeon if I can since I'll be going in to see him in a few weeks anyway.

I don't know, when you put it on your eyes, you're not not consuming it. I'd check the box and see if it says anything about being harmful or fatal if swallowed! If not, you're probably good to go.

I'm heading out to Ulta and/or Sephora today and/or tomorrow :lmao: and I'm in the market for a new spring nailcolor. Strawberry margarita sounds yummy, I'll have to check that out! Now if I could just get my nail to grow out a bit. No, that wasn't a typo - it's just the nail on the pointer finger of my right hand that I cannot get to grow at all. it keeps breaking off and I have no idea why. All the others are growing out nicely, but I have to keep cutting them back to match my problem nail. I don't like to wear my nails that long anymore, just a bit past the end of my finger, so this really should not be the problem that it is. I can't figure it out! :confused3

as far as nails go - I used OPI Nail Envy for a long time. Then I switched to Sally Hansen Triple Strong. The Nail Envy peeled off my nails way to easy. The Triple Strong really, really sticks and is way cheaper.

With the Nail Eny, I would have to take it off and re-apply every other day. With the Triple Strong, I only take it off and re-apply twice a week. And I could probably go to once a week.

Ehhh - I like my nails short, so I use a Seche Base Coat / ridge filler - and it works nice, but lik I said - I dont look to grow them out.

I recommend either the strawberry margarita or elephantastic pink as a spring color. I personally, couldnt decide.
