Those who have tried Everday Minerals, I feel like I need a little advice with this product. I have tried all three foundations, and while I never thought I looked the "wrong" color (not too dark or too light) I haven't felt quite perfect. Well, let's face it, I'm not Eva Longoria so perfect might be a stretch. But I think they have so many shades that I wonder if I chose the wrong color family. I also wonder if it is better to go slightly lighter, which I didn't do because I have been tanning, getting ready for vaction. How have you guys found the perfect shade, short of getting free samples in ALL OF THEM!?!

good question I would like to know too. they have so many colors that is seems overwhelming. :faint:

Did you ever hear the joke about the man who asks for directions to Carnegie Hall? He asks a passer by "how do you get to Carnigie hall" and the passerby replies, "Practice, practice, practice."

LOL. Practice on the weekends etc. YOu will develop a routine like while youi are waiting for your eye depuffer to dry you apply the shadow insurance to your lids and then you apply moisturizer go back and apply the conealer under the eyes while that is setting put on the make up base go back put on the foundation then apply shadow and liner put on the mineral veil and go back and finish the liner and mascara. Sounds like a lot but there is no wait time inbetween. You will make up your own routine but after a while it becomes second nature. You are not really varying what you do only the colors of the products you use.

I agree. Ive been doing 'this' since I was in 8th grade. And I LOVE doing this, so I do it every day - then I was doing it for other people for awhile.

THAT BEING SAID..... when you get new stuff, it does take longer. You wanna kinda play, different colors, different ways.... Ive been late this week, too. :lmao: So many choices!

It looks lilke the smudge pots are out of stock! Dang! I missed it!

Bummer!!! Maybe theyll get more. :)

When I texted you last night (how'd that stuff work on your hair) I told you, I would tell you what I did.

I dont like to wash everyday either - sometimes I shower, cap my hair and just re-do the dry hair, but sometimes I get in the shower and rinse really good and re-condition.

So I have a specific conditioner for this. Rusk Smoother. Cuz it's light (actually supposed to be a leave-in) and it smells wonderful.

SO - I wanted to brighten up my blonde .....so I added a few drops of Mrs Stewarts bluing laundry stuff to it. And shook it all up.

It worked GREAT!!!!! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure I can see that much difference. I do tend to get more orange over time, I have natural red undertones I guess (Darn Irish!). So it might have toned that down, but I'm not really sure if I can see it.

Xena - try buttered tan. I think me and you are similar coloring. Lemme go look at you again on FB.

Yeah - get the buttered tan. And if you decide to get a kit.... dont bother getting a blush to actually BE a blush. There's a couple colors (snoozebar and waffle cone come to mind) that make nice 'mix in's' when youre a bit tanner in the summer. That's what I do. :)

And you are SO flipping pretty! :cloud9: And I mean that in a non-rainbow way. ;)

Yeah - it kinda builds up on your hair - so then you only use it every few days.

Like I said - check out Mrs Stewarts bluing in your laundry aisle of the grocery store. The stuff works great on clothes, and you can add a few drops to your dumb blonde (with a little water - dumb blonde is thick!) and mix it up..... maybe in a seperate little bottle, or something.

MRS STEWARTS STUFF -

I read old ladies do it to keep their silver bright. That's where I got the idea.

That's funny, I was looking at Buttered tan earlier. Ok, I'll try that one. I can get more free ones right?

Thank you! :flower3: You are too!

How long do I leave it in with the dumb blonde? Maybe 5 minutes? That would be a nice way to do it because I'm only shampooing twice a week right now to try to correct dryness so if I have to use blue shampoo I'm not going to get it in there very often.

For my blush free sample last time I got Wet Sand which is actually more of a highlighter. It is very shimmery. I'm very into shimmer and sparkle right now! Stacy and Clinton would probably like to remind me that women my age don't do glitter!

Yeah - you can get more samples.

Yeah - 5 minutes is fine. I get in, wash my hair, put conditioner in - then shave my legs, wash my face, wash my body - you know, all that stuff - while it's sitting on my head.

But like I said - just a few drops and mix it well - maybe with a smidge of water so you can really mix it. It should be a creamy consistancy that if you squeeze onto your hand, and wipe it on a paper towel, looks like just a blue tint.... kwim?? Not BLUE...just a tint of it.

i'd get a little bottle to mix it in.....

I know - but shimmer is not glitter, and if you keep your sparkle under control, thats okay too. :)

I loooove myself some shimmer. :cloud9:

everyday minerals ladies - how big are the sample sizes?

also, does anyone use Laura Geller makeup? What do you think of the baked stuff she has?

Ive never tried Laura Geller makeup.

The sample sizes are pretty generous. I dont know ounces. I just know it's a nice enough size to try for probably a week or so.

I'd say the samples are maybe an ounce and a half......Igot buttery tan too...but for me, that's too dark...so I need to try something lighter too...

I'm still not convinced I like the mineral wear at all...I need more coverage...especially with the dryness....I may go into ulta again this weekend...

need to read back & see what eyeliner you guys all like...

Cat - I forgot to tell you ...I love the Matrix root lifter! not like it gives me more hair or anything....but it pumps it up a lot....

ok, so where do you all buy your Mac products? Beautycrunch doesn't have them right?

Unfortunately, I have been buying mine from Macys. If anyone knows of a web site that carries MAC...do tell....

Isnt it nice?? It truly does lift your roots. Lots of oomph. Good stuff.

Have you tried a moisturizer, under the intense powder? I mean, mineral makeup isnt for everyone - not everyone loves it, but I just wanna make sure you give it a good shot.

I used to really really like TiGi's foundation, before I used this stuff.

hqas anyone heard about this product as a face primer? Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel

here is the link to a you tube video I found but there are a lot more.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6EIrdbbD3eA

thanks :goodvibes

I have heard that before - and I heard it's great - but it sounds so .....gross! LOL!

"Wow, youre makeup looks so good!"
"Thanks, I have Monistat on my face!"
" :scared: "

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I havent seen it at BeautyCrunch - ever.

The outlet in Aurora (the one that is the same as that one in Orlando, by that Mary Queen of the Universe) has a Cosmetics Company Outlet. They have MAC (and Stila, and Clinique, and Estee Lauder) but it's a crap shoot. Sometimes it's good - sometimes it's not. If you're planning a run over to the Orlando Premium Outlet Mall (are you guys getting a car?) You could check it out there, for fun. But like I said ...crap shoot. If you happen to be out in Aurora - then check it out - I wouldnt make a trip for it, IMO.

I go to Oak Brook / Nordstroms. There's a MAC store in Oak Brook too, but Nordstroms is right next door to H&M, so that makes for *boom boom* easy shopping. :)

I know online has great shipping deals - but I like the touchy feely of trying stuff (especially when I dont know what it is I want - y'know?)

Or you could be BellatheBall - and stumble across hoardes of it at Maggiano's! :rolleyes1

I haven't read all your awesome thread but wanted to tell ya'll that the bare minerals buxom mascara is great. I could tell a difference in the length and thickness. I have thick hair but thin lashes, jeez think I could have spread the love there.

Anyways this is a pretty decent mascara but of course I'm not very picky about that sort of thing. I did pay $18 for it so I damn well better like it.

Somebody bought that here.... who was it? Angel, I think....

I'm a Too Faced girl.... I love their mascara.

hmm, sounds just like bodyglide...how on earth could it be a face primer....

off to watch that video

I haven't tried it, but many of the gals on the Everyday Minerals BB site swear by it. They say the ingredients are almost exactly the same as the silicone face primers, but at a fraction of the cost. I have it in my shopping cart at Amazon,com... I think I'll go ahead and order. When I try it, I'll report back and tell y'all what I think.
