The Magical DISmeets!! The Last week in August/Sept! See Post #1 for Meet Info

Oh how I hope you, Shhhq, & Maria get better!! When you all do, we can resume being very excited!!

Traci, I heard the same thing. About it being offered. I am on the line about whether I would take it or not. I did promise Cherish we would all go in 2008. But, I have been pricing out cruises. So, I dont know.

Anyhow you all must get better, in a quick hurry!!:grouphug:

Thanks for the well wishes.... improving everyday... so I should be back to normal in time.

Missy, how sweet of you to offer this!! What did you exchange them for. If I was bringing my baby girl. I would be all over CRT. I think this is so nice of you!

12 more days wooohoooo
:woohoo: Ok, now. I am really excited!

Melissa

Melissa-I have not swaped them for anything. I still have both of them, if you are intrested let me know. We just decided not to do the CRT, and the 50's Prime Time, we will be going to Le Celieur that night at 4:00 so I thought it was too close, so I will not need it.
11 more days  :cheer2:
I'm excited too!

Missy- No, I am not interested in either. Just wanted to say it was so nice of you to offer your ressies. Especially the CRT one. As I know how hard that is to come by.

I currently have all of my ressies, all set. I am going to try and squeeze in a bite at Beaches & Cream. When, I have no idea. But, I am a woman on a mission!!:lmao:

I am almost down to 11 days!! Woohoo:banana:

Traci- I really am on the fence about free dining next year. I will see. I really want to at least give my dh a chance to call our vacations. Either way, I will be happy whatever the outcome. I think. :lmao:

Me too Melissa,,,, arrghhh I don't know what to do. Well I can definately confirm that free dining is on because I have just called my TA. They have given me a quote for next year free dining and told me I should book it as soon as possible as it will sell out very fast. My TA told me that there is definately no free dininig with the values as Disney have said that they have lost a LOT of money this year! If I wanted to I could have booked it today, but it is quite a bit more expensive than this year's trip so I don't know what to do.
My quote was £3746, so over $7000 :scared1: but that includes 14 days @ POFQ, flights from the UK, hire car and 14 days park hopper tickets.
If I went to Egypt, I could probably get it for around £1000. I am so frustrated I don't know what to do :headache:
I guess I will sleep on it for a couple of days, the official release date isn't till the 23rd, so I have till then at least to decide.

On a brighter note, I am feeling so much better today, no longer sick :yay: my foot is a lot smaller :lmao: and has stopped oozing, so its looking good for being better for next week. I hope everyone else is doing ok :flower1:

Ya' all are almost single digit dancin'!!

Its looking HOT but we knew that!
That will make those a/c TS ADRS even better!

 thankyou :flower3:
woo hoo,,,, 2 more days to single digit dance
I'm gonna try to finish up printing off the rest of my disney stuff tonight, maps, journal etc etc and hopefully get on with the packing tomorrow, should feel up to it by then :rolleyes1:
OMG its so close, I'm trying to contain myself :jumping1:

Thanks for the pixie dust sent my. The antibiotic seems to have finally started kicking in. Hopefully no one else in the family comes down with this crap. It's been awful!

Onto Hurricane Dean report... if you go to the National Hurricane Center you can see the 5 day track forecast. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at4+shtml/203525.shtml?5day#contents

So far it looks like it'll miss Florida!! WooHoo! Keep sending the pixie dust for no hurricanes! This same time period last year the hubby and I were at Disney. A hurricane was downgraded to a Tropical Storm. The day before it hit it felt as if someone turned all oxygen completely off. Seemed like there was no air flow whatsoever. The day the Tropical Storm hit it just rained off and on and wasn't bad at all. I hate riding Astro Orbiter and my hubby actually got me to ride it with him during the Tropical Storm. So...that should show it wasn't as bad and everyone imagines..... :)

Yay,,, we all seem to be on the mend  Hope you are totally over it well in time for the trip :pixiedust:

Good news about the hurricane, hope it does stay away :thumbsup2:

Well, I made it through work today!! Whew! Is all I am going to say. Glad to hear everyone is improving healthwise!!
:thumbsup2

Now, since I am off tomorrow. I have to concentrate on downsizing the bags of luggage. I had taken out three bags for use. 2- 26 inchers, and one 21 inch roll on. Well, I had no room for the toiletries. So, I took out the 18 inch roll on for that. I will have to see what I can do. I am thinking, if push comes to shove. I will just take all 4. But, if I can, 3 would be much better!:thumbsup2

Is everyone else besides Traci, all packed??

Well, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have much more luggage  I will have 2 suitcases for my clothes, beach towels, extra baggage, decorations and other stuff, Chloe will have a suitcase and Cameron will have one too, then we all have carry on luggage each too :faint: Thats the only problem with having a 2 week trip! I have a total of 120kg baggage allowance so thats not a problem, but I'm dreading lugging them to our room at POP.
We also have extra security at our airports at the moment because of the terror attack a month ago, so we are no longer allowed to drive up to the airport doors, we will have quite a walk from the car to the terminal :headache: But hey I'M GOING TO DISNEY so I'm not gonna let it get me down :cloud9:
How long till you finish work Melissa? Do you have to work up until the trip or do you get a few days off beforehand?

Is everyone else besides Traci, all packed??

I am probably about 85% packed..... all clothes are packed but all the odds and ends that we bought for the trip are scattered here and there... now its time to put them together! I have the next 2 days off and only 3 days off total before my vacation starts so I better get cracking this weekend!

I haven't even started packing as of yet. ugh!! Let's see...one of my children decided to be industrious and tried to do 3 loads of laundry in one load. None of them are fessing up on which one did it, but the sweet child of mine broke the washing machine! ugh! With being sick I have not had the umph to lug it all to the laundry mat so it's been on hold. I'll do that this evening as soon as I get off work and I'll start packing tomorrow while the hubby takes the van in for an oil change, check tires, all fluids, etc.... Sunday I'll drive to the Disney Store to get additional Disney Dollars for the children and then stop by Costco and Walmart to get the drinks and snacks for the drive down.

Wow...just thinking...hopefully by this time next Friday we'll be driving through North Carolina! WooHoo!!!

Has anyone else started daydreaming and getting certain Disney smells hitting you??? I just imagined the smells of the old Crystal Palace smells...way back when...before they changed the menu and before it turned into a character meal. Mmmmmm.......man I miss that food!!

Traci -- If I were you I'd go to Egypt! I feel like the loyal patrons of WDW shouldn't have to suffer because of poor business decisions...which is what is happening with next year's DDP (IMO). They have removed the appetizer/tip and only lowered the price by $1! I know you would only book because of free DDP, but the fact that Disney has excluded values from the promo and raised ticket prices should be taken into consideration too. Perhaps the best thing to do would be to price the vacation as if you were staying at a value, along with the food you would actually eat...it might actually come out cheaper than using free DDP! Anyway, off my soapbox now. So happy to hear your foot is on the mend!!!

Melissa/ShhhQ/Traci -- Way to go on the packing! We leave in five days and I still haven't even taken the suitcases out of the closet yet. Did go to Walmart yesterday and bought the anti-chafing stuff from Monostat that so many people have recommended. I don't usually have any problems along those lines but figured I'd bring some just-in-case. Also got the misting fans for $6.99 (way cheaper than the parks!).

ME -- Too bad about the washing machine...kind of makes you wish you had an old washboard and tub to make the culprit use!

:lmao: what a good idea!!! I would go and buy the washtub and board for the culprit to use instead of going to the laundry mat :rotfl:

You know, I think you are right about the prices, I was thinking that last night, the quote I got for 08 is so much more than this year, over £1000, so I think that maybe the free dining won't be saving me any money after all, I have never had any real desires to stay in a moderate or deluxe, I just want somewhere to wash and lay my head. Yeah the GF would be nice, but well out of my league.
If I were to spend the extra money on a Disney trip, I would like to go at Christmas, I know the crowds are bad, but I would like to go for the atmosphere, not necessarily the rides, so maybe I will go to Egypt or one of the islands like Ibiza to celebrate my graduation next year, and start saving up for Christmas 09.
I have had to face reality really (it hurts though) and realise that I just cannot afford almost £4000 for a trip, added to that I would have to take around £1000 -£2000 spending money so £6000 in all,,, I am a single parent of 3 kids and in college for goodness sake, my credit card needs a rest :lmao:

I will just have to make sure that we make the most of this trip,, I'm sure we will

Well, I'm gonna start the packing soon. I got all my printing done last night, and I've soaked all my LGMH's in water to get them off the backing card, they are drying off now.
I'm feeling fine now and the foot is very nearly back to normal,, however,,, it would not be a normal day for me if something didn't go wrong,,,, My car wouldn't start today, and when I looked at it, there is fuel all over my driveway  I spent all day getting it to a garage and they have told me that the fuel lines have corroded, so it looks like I'm gonna be without a car until maybe wednesday next week... haven't got a clue how much its going to cost :sad2: I'm trying not to think about it and stay positive

Hope everyone is ok,,, Mariaeller,,, I sympathise, you sound like you are having a week like mine,, here's some pixiedust :pixiedust:

Oh man, oh man, oh man...I think maybe our luck is rubbing off onto one another??!! My car just overheated on me during my lunch break. Ohh boy...if it isn't one thing it's another. Hey, I was a single mom of 3 kidlets for a long time before my hubby walked into the picture. There were many years that the only way I could afford to take the kidlets to Disney was to camp at Ft. Wilderness. Some of the best memories I have of Disney was spent at the campground. :) Now I can now laugh at some of the memories...like one year we came back to our site after spending all day in the parks to find our tent floating along a river of water. It had rained so hard that the campground flooded. People were riding ten speed bicycles and the water was up and over the bicycle seats. LOL Disney was kind enough to move us to All Star Music, however, we ended up having to throw the tent and sleeping bags out because the washers and dryers weren't big enough to handle sleeping bags and mildew grew on them fast. I can laugh about that now, but at the time I was just crying and crying at 2am as I was trying to ring everything out. LOL

I also wanted to say Good for you in working on your degree!!!! I work at the local University here in Winchester. I know how hectic your life must be with 3 kids, work and school!

MariaEller, I have to tell you. We had the same thing happen to our washing machines. Xavier, decided after I found clothing hidden in his closet. He would take matters into his own hand. I told him to put his clothes together so we can wash them. While I was at work. He decides he would wash 4 or 5 loads, at the same time. Lo, and behold he broke the machine. I know the kid knows better. He was sitting right beside me, while we read your post. I told him. I just have to tell everyone what he did. He was sitting here cringing, as I type. But, whatever. He just said "so everyone in the United States, now has to know I broke the washing machine, because I put 4 or 5 loads in." Man, I tell you, you gotta love the kid. :lmao:
:rolleyes1
