The Magic, the Memories and the Food! February11 Update July 23 WPuck's Express

We loved those tacos you had- they were YUMMY!! :goodvibes How annoying were those people ahead of you in the line, though? :headache: FWIW, we ate appetizers in the TS on our dismoms trip- they were all delicious, and the mango rita was excellent (although I later found out it is made with Island Oasis and not mango nectar- but it still was delish). Our server was AWESOME, too- I would definitely give La Hacienda a try again-:goodvibes

We always stop at the Mexican counter service - and get a standard "snack" for the girls and I to split - the nachos and churros. Both are delish!

When I go for my girls trip in August, we have an ADR for the table service version - and we are hoping to get a window seat so that we can watch Illuminations from there.

Mmm Krispy Kremes!!! Am going to my parents house for father's day in a bit and am tempted to stop for some doghnuts on my way - the problem is though most of them will be finding their way into my stomach!! :lmao:

Love the La Cantina review (eek at having to wait sooo long!) - can't wait to try some churros!

I'm trying to remember whether or not I remember you telling me about your lunch at La Hacienda...and I can't! :rotfl: Those tacos looks wonderful, though. Sounds like another great CS option at WS! :thumbsup2

We had La Cantina for lunch just last week. DH and had split an order of the nachos, very yummy. I had one of my moms tacos and that was very good too, can't wait to go back in a month and try the churros.

All caught up, love your CG review as always :)

WAT lunch looks delish, not a bad spread :)

Great review !!!It is highly possible the kids will want to try some Mexican food as they love it !!Our first trip they shared a combo platter as a evening snack and all enjoyed it !!!

I can have a Frappachino if they make it with soy milk :goodvibes

Todd is sitting right next to me watching tv and he spied your carne tacos....he is drooling right now! He cannot wait to try them!

I am no expert on Mexican food, but these tacos were really good. The tortillas were slightly warm and soooo good, too!
Love churros ..... ever since we had them waiting for the MSEP, sitting on the curb with my mom!

They are good, aren't they? :goodvibes
I think we are lucky to hit those ín front of us ..... :lmao: The same happened a year ago in AK! :rotfl2:

I am so torn on La Hacienda, but all is not set yet! ;) We might just add in another dinner.

We usually share our WS meals, so we get to try more! :rotfl2: We had the nachos at the restaurant before the refurb and they were so yummy! :thumbsup2

Hope you get your window seat in August!! :goodvibes

So, did you get some Krispy Kreme goodness today? ;)

When we were at the "old" Mexican counterservice two years ago the churros were hard and old, but these were really soft and wonderful!

I love churros, but never had it with carmel sauce, I bet that was REALLY good!

I don't think we talked about La Cantina. I might have told you about "The Ditch" (La Cava del Tequila) though. :rotfl2:
But we were very happy with that CS - really nice and enough to share.

Guess we will need to try the Nachos in the summer! ;) But those Tacos were really good!
Give the churros a try! I hope they will be as fresh as the ones we had and with the caramel sauce they are heavenly.

:woohoo: for being all caught up again! Tell me about falling behind. :rotfl2: CG was wonderful - as always, WAT was super yummy - need to do it again to try their breakfast.

Tom and I can definitely recomment the Mexican CS! It was really good, we were there early in the day and everything was super fresh and tasty!

I love churros, but never had it with carmel sauce, I bet that was REALLY good!

My mum made me try them when I took her to Disneyland way back in the 90s. She loved them and so do I.
Last year we had some and they were really hard, chewy and old and so I was interested in trying the new smaller version, dipped in some caramel sauce.

Sure did enjoy some Krispy Kremes yesterday and I was not disappointed!!! ;)

Had one for breakfast today and we still have half a dozen in the fridge! I love to heat them up and have them with a nice cup of coffee! :cloud9:

Gotta' love those CC donuts! Glazed are my favorite donuts! We have CC here, but not hot off the line.

I want those tacos & will have some in Sept., not a fan of the churros. The last time we ate there was in 09 & the churros were very large & greasy. I can't eat that sort of food.:guilty:
Doris

Hi Karin!! That lunch with the Wild Africa Trek looks AMAZING!! WOW!! DH was asking about the Trek and I mentioned you had done it. He LOVES AK. We did the Wildlife Discovery Expedition last year for our anniversary and it was a big hit. :goodvibes:goodvibes

You are so lucky to even be able to have Krispy Kreme nearby! The closest to us is more than 800 miles away! :sad2:

Try the tacos ....... they won't disappoint! :thumbsup2

It was a wonderful lunch and having the animals roam right in front of us made it extra special.
I did an in depth report on the tour on my February trip report, just to let you know, if you haven't read already!
It's an AMAZING experience - we highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

Day 5, February 23

Another Lunch at La Cava del Tequila

So we found that "The Ditch" was already open and it was empty!!

IMG_9822.jpg

A server came right over and handed us the menu.

We still had to decide on a drink, but we had known what we wanted to snack on before we even entered the bar.

IMG_9825.jpg

Homemade Guacamole! This is so good, lumps of avocado in it, well spiced, just perfect. I was taken aback by the "chips" that came with it, but they grew on me! :thumbsup2 :lmao: They are no culinary delicacy but they were fine with the guacamole.

The server told us that they had

warm and fresh tortilla chips and dips as well and we could not resist ordering them too! They were wonderful. The "salsa" type dip was SPICY!! But sooo good! ;) :lmao:

Now on to the drinks .........

Tom wanted to try the

Avocado Margarita, El Mayor Premium White Tequila, Melon liqueur, fresh avocado, fresh lime juice and agave nectar, served frozen with a Hibiscus Himalayan Salt rim. Thick creamy yummy goodness in a glass!

I tried the

Pineapple Margarita. It was made from El Mayor Premium White Tequila, ginger liqueur, caramelized pineapple nectar, agave nectar and fresh lime juice, served on the rocks with a cactus-lemongrass Himalayan Salt rim. Think heavenly and you get the picture on how this tasted - I love anything pineapple and I really  loved the drink.

We sat for a while, nibbling and drinking and drinking and nibbling and all too soon our drinks and snacks were gone and we headed out to walk around "the world" again.

Coming up: Beaches and Cream

Oooh those margaritas look lush, must must must go to CDT this year :teeth:

Karin, The "Ditch" review was great. When I was there, no sit down tables were open so I had to take my drink to go. I got the jalepeno drink instead of the avacado. If you like a little "zing" in your drink, try this one. It wasn't too spicey and it was very refreshing. I'm hoping that the next time it won't be so crowded and I can snag a table to try some snacks. As always, I'm enjoying your reviews.

Those margaritas look heavenly! Tequila and I do not get along sadly but maybe I'll make my mom try one just so I can say I experienced "The Ditch" lol
What are the chips with the guacamole?

You HAVE TO try "The Ditch", Stefy! Go there right when they open around 12pm and you will find a nice table to sit at and enjoy your drinks and snacks! ;) :thumbsup2

I guess we were super lucky since we arrived shortly after they had opened and we were actually the first guests in there. Believe me, it filled up pretty quickly.
I think Ellen (podsnel) had the jalapeno margaritha as well and loved it. I think this would be right up Tom's street - I love my drinks pretty sweet! ;) :lmao:

Just get a snack at "The Ditch", the atmosphere in there is pretty amazing. I don't know how to explain those "chips" that came with the guacamole. They were obviously deep friend and very light and airy - we have nothing here to compare them with. Sorry.

Not a margarita fan at all, but those chips and sauce look really, really good.
