Okay first off I have to confess I have NOT managed to keep up on this thread and haven't read the whole thing.

So the thing I've missed or maybe has never been explained is:

Horsegirl: What is it that you do for a living?????

I've gotten all of these clues and never managed to figure it out, so I'm giving up and just asking, What the bibidybobidyheck to you do for a living?

You work at home, have clients, don't really talk to people all that much, hmmmm??

Also:

Grammyof2 you are one cool chick!!!! Way to go on shaving your head, and you went out with a bang by going pink first!!

and yes you are a chick not a hen!!!

Uncle Sam's was a great place back in the day. Tuesday night was ladies night. No cover and $1 drinks. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Went every Tuesday. I was a Disco Queen. Station H-A-P-P-Y. Nobody probably ever heard of it. :rotfl:

Anywho, the place was always jammed, girls getting cheap drinks, and guys looking to buy girls cheap drinks. :woohoo:

Grammy - We all hung out at Jolly Rogers. Ladies night twice a week, $1 drinks for the ladies. Back in the day. Now I just drink at home instead. Not so far to go when I'm done :rotfl:

Now on to get caught up with this thread. I can only read in about five to ten minute increments so it takes me awhile....

WOW - fantastic. Anybody else notice what a great looking group of people we are. We have it going on, right here. Looks, brains, and melons, we are the in crowd. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Grammy--I LOVE your pictures. I'm SO glad you got them posted. You're such a wonderful person. What a selfless act!

SNAP--What an awesome edit job! I need to learn how to do that. I guess I better get busy searching for those free downloads first. I don't have any picture editing programs on my computer yet. Nothing that fancy anyway.

Just a couple more...

here's the boys - my son is in blue, our neighbor, same age as my twins, is in the black hilfger fleece. He is like a second son. We have been neighbors since they were about 5 yrs old.

this one I just think is too funny. We went in Dec of 2005 and I had all these grandiose ideas of wearing cute little tops/capris and getting a tan. Not!! It was 40's - 60's just about every day. This pic was taken on our best weather day.

Sheridac--Awesome pictures! It's neat that your son has been able to have such a good friend so close in proximity most of his life. I think the photo of you sunbathing is classic! :lmao:

I'm not sure who started the whole "posting pictures" thing but I'm glad they did. It's really cool getting to see everyone.

I've been inspired. Here are two more. These are from our Nov/Dec 2005 trip. Again, I'm NOT wearing make-up. Consider yourselves WARNED! :teeth:

This is DD(2.5) and DD(1) enjoying their new presents from their Papaw.

Although it's hard to see, this is a shot of all four of us but our youngest daughter is turned away from the camera...trying to eat the landscaping behind her....

Sorry, Lala. I know how you hate pasty white legs. If it's any consolation, I have actually started using a self tanner and my legs no longer reflect light. (I have extremely fair skin and burn easily...already had to have two skin cancers removed from my face and stomach...AND I DON'T EVEN LAY OUT IN THE SUN...never really did...sad).

OK, if we're posting pictures, I'm going to have to post the only one I have on my computer right now, from last November...and also to prove PolyMelonMom isn't the only one with melons, but I'm missing the sz 4!

Ssshhh, brandt79, you're going to the Poly next month, best not tell Polymelonmommypolyenvy....she's not going until August.

sherridac...How do you expect to get a tan with all those clothes on :rotfl:
When we went Nov/Dec last year...the days were pretty nice but it really cooled down at night.

Wow everyone jumped on the picture posting band wagon!

Grammy you look good with no hair, really. How brave of you to do that.

J and R's mom you look fine with no make-up. I can relate to the white leg thing... I am glow in the dark light skinned.

brandt79 that is a beautiful picture.

Sheri you can not possibly look that young and have kids that tall. No fair.

I am sure I missed some. Sorry. My brain can only hold a limited number of things at a time, I don't know how some of you manage those catch up posts that respond to everything. Do you take notes?

Sheridac: anyone that wants the Maeltrom shirt thingys just needs to PM me with their email addy.

VENT ALERT, whining alert:

GRRRR I spent all day training my temporary substitute at my old job. For some reason that escapes me (ok maybe it doesn't totally escape me, but we won't go there) they somehow felt that I could somehow train this lady to do a major function of job in 13 hours of training spread over 3 separate days. Yeah, like that's gonna happen. Ok I am not going to say another word. Vent over..

Now unrelated question, did I do the right thing?

I went to pick up my kids from school tonight and on my way home, a girl was riding her bike up the street and she did not see me. I saw her out of the corner of my eye, as she slams on her brakes and turns her wheel. It was like she just realized where she was or something. Anyhow, her bike slid out from under her and she landed in a heap on the curb. She was on the sidewalk when she slammed on her brakes.

So, I pull my car over immediately, put it in park, and walk back to her to see if she is OK. She had a skinned-up knee, and was more scared than anything. So here is my question, because this is what I did next.

After ascertaining that she was ok and hadn't broken anything. I asked her where she lived, and if she wanted me to put her bike in the back of my vehicle and give her a ride home. I explained to her that normally, I would not suggest that any child accept a ride from a stranger, but that she was in no shape to pedal her bike with a skinned up knee. She said, Yes thank you.

So, I load everyone up and give her an antibacterial wipe to clean up her knee. What happens next is question 2.

I get her home and it is clear that there is no adult at home to greet her. I take her bike and put it in the garage for her and watch her go into her home safely.

Now, I want to stick around until an adult gets there, but she says that her Dad will be home soon. I have my two little ones in my car, and one left to pick up yet. So, I decided to leave and go get my other child.

I decided to drive back by after this and see if there is an signs of a grown-up there yet, nope. I took the kids to go eat nearby and drove by again afterward to see if this girl has a parent home yet, still nope.

I give up and drive back home. Now I am worried about the girl not being supervised and I know that if my child got hurt on the way home and got a ride from a stranger I would want to know what happened and who gave my child a ride. So, now I am worried that this parent is going to be mad at me etc...

So, do you think I did the right thing and do you think I should try to pursue this further next week, or just forget about it? I dunno what to do, never been in this kind of situation...

Gosh Java- how awful-really. How old was she? I'm guessing old enough to be alone. I don't know what i would have done, but maybe gotten her phone number and called later. You're right with the whole stranger thing, as she could get the wrong message and think strangers are ok, like you and just hop in. Lots of kids stay home by themselves, sadly. Not a big deal when they are 12-13. Big deal when they are 6 or 7. I probably wasn't much help. Sorry again. I am so glad that you didn't hit her! Hope your evening is better....

Wow, this is a toughy...I'm always telling my girls to not get into cars with strangers. I guess what horsegirl said "getting her number". You wouldn't believe how many kids are on their own after school. It makes me really sad, and grateful that I have never had to do that with my girls. I would maybe drive past her house in the next day or two.. see if you can speak to a parent and explain to them that she had gotten hurt and you helped her out. On the other hand(you knew that was coming), maybe she wasnt' suppose to be OUT of the house and she would only get it to more trouble.

Soooooo, maybe just drive my and see if you spot her and make sure she's okay.

Either way, you are a good soul for stopping to help her......I'd want someone as caring and kind as you if my kids ever needed help. Here's a little java for ya

Sorry I wasn't much help.

BTW, There's that crazy pea :bounce: again

Wow I leave you alone for awhile and you all start posting pictures. What's next? :p

Hello Mr. or Ms. Mumbler,

It is no secret! I, sir or madam, am a shrink......so I cannot say most of what is on my mind, and must keep a tight professional demeanor. I am in no way a wild woman, but like to be able to say most of what comes into my mind. I can mostly do that here....So cookalookashoobiedoo and welcome and Maelstrom.....!

Hay! I just thought somethin'! you weren't thinkin' I er, em, did somethin else did you??????????? :confused3 ewwww! if ya' did! but you wouldn't htink that, right?

Tell me about it. I am barely 5'3 and he is over 6ft. Try being the authority figure when you have to look up a foot!

J&R’smom – you and your kids are soo cute. You don’t need any makeup. Now me, that’s another story!

Brandt – you and your dress are gorgeous!

Java - pm comin’ your way. I would have done exactly what you did, although I am surprised she got in the car with you. Stranger danger and all. I guess, at this point, you might consider just letting it go. If you happen to see her again, you could ask how she is, etc.

Can anybody tell me what happened to Mel's crackhead baby after they went to the emergency room? I totally lost track of the thread and I need to know if Tommy ever got sewed up, if Mel ever put her bra back on, and what ever happened at the doctor's office with all the cops! Anyone know what page I should look on or should I just give up? It was so much easier to keep up with the story on the Trip Report board!!

Sorry I've gotten so far behind -- I miss being in on the conversation!!
