Disney has taken over my Development in PA.

If you can not go to Disney, bring Disney to you. Lets turn the whole World into Disney. The World would be a much happer place!

MickeyS-Sign.jpg
I would so LOVE to turn my subdivision into a Disney annexation. Where can I get one of those signs?

Hi Boys and Girls!

Was at the kidlets school this morning.

Firstly - I want to say so sorry about the fire MommyP - I just went back and read your post. Glad everything is OK.

Haley - I see you were stirring the pot venturing off to that "no-no" thread. I caught you.......you were there. I was lurking. I never post on those. ;) (was that the right smilie??? - I was scared clicking :teeth: )

JW - Great list on DISing.

Spectrum - sorry to hear about the hamster. More room for us Maelstromers to play in, so your work didn't go to waste ;)

GA Tell your DH that you live in Georgia, and everyone from Georgia has to have a AP. It's in the handbook they give you when you move there. I got the memo! We bought AP's our first year in Georgia and went back 3 times during the AP. I told my DH we would be outcasts if we didn't. Disney is so close. It's just the way. "Georgia = AP + Peachtree = traffic - 1-75 speeding X HOV lanes at rush hour" Maybe your DH didn't get that memo! :lmao:

As far as our character stalking. We were back in Adventureland during the time the crowds were leaving for the start of MVMCP. All the characters from Country Bear's were out playing with the handful of people hanging around. It was great fun! Also during the fireworks all 7 of the Dwarfs, plus Snow were at an area near Aerial's Grotto.

Frickles - we are renting points for the July stay. I'm not sure but I usually only rent points Sun-Thurs, so it is much cheaper. Fri/Sat they are double the points. We usually stay elsewhere during the weekend. We bought the DP with the rental and are staying 4 days. We like to dine most meals at table service so it'll work out for us. I just don't like paying the adult price for DD10, who doesn't eat anything but chicken nuggets. ( :moped: - this guy needs to be a flame thrower) GASP! What did I just say! :lmao:

Wait for it.............but we'll work around that :rotfl2:

AI - I'm hooked too. However - I don't really like Chris. (oops I did it again........don't flame me! :lmao: ) His first song was terrible last night, and he always sounds the same to me. Elliott, I really didn't like either but liked him last night. I like Taylor - but don't think he'll win either. I thought his song choice was excellent!!

If you stay at DVC you can add the dining plan at full cost for stays of 3 days or more. You do not need to purchase the 1 day tickets.

Now I have a question. Is it really cheaper to stay at DVC, or do you really mean you get a better value? I always look up the number of points need for our stay and multiply by $10 (which is the going rate to rent points, right???) and it comes out to WAY more that a regular room at the same resort. So what am I doing wrong? Walk me through this. I am afraid to ask on the DVC boards :rotfl: I really want to stay at DVC at some point. My hope is to addict Mr. Silly to it ::evil grin

Haley........

Staying at the Beach Club Villas - Studio 7 nights 10/1-10/8
You would need 106 points. Approx. $1060 (if you pay $10pp) If you paid for the dining plan it would be $102 per day (2 adults,2 children) X7 = $714 for the week.

Disney would charge...$2,380.56 (this includes tax) The quote didn't say anything about Free Dining.

Ed - I'm listening. What kind of soap is that? I need some.

Wonderful story about your son. I love to hear about that kind of magic.

I hope for special magical moments for our trip, but do not expect them. I think just being there will be magical enough for my kids. (Well, until Jamal takes a picture of them melting down!) I also think there is little hope for my son with the characters this year, since he'll only be a little past 2 yrs old. But my daughter will hug anyone/anything and is not afraid of costumes!

Each kid's different, obviously, with regards to their experience with WDW. We took our DS who turned three while down there, and he LOVED the characters. We tested him out a couple of times at Chuck E Cheese's in order to see how he handled being around a 6 foot rat.

We made sure we took our time and did what interested him (Trip Report over at the other place). I think the characters will be able to gauge how "into" them your son is and behave accordingly. We left our other son at home to take care of the cats as we felt that he was too young to enjoy much of anything down there (12 months).

There's more than just characters, too. My son's expression when he saw Cinderella's castle was priceless. Of course, he had a similar expression when he saw his first monorail, too.

Regarding stalking CMs, there's one guy that works at Whispering Canyon that has a fan club (thanks to the Zurg/Zurgswife family and Delswife). I think we have him truly scared of us.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I think I may have to ask him this AFTER our October trip. I am hoping that seeing his little girl be so entranced might do the trick. Otherwise I am going to make him work the formula!

That's exactly how I feel about Chris. I just think that if he produced an album, every song would sound identical. The first time I heard something different out of him was "If you really love a woman." (Was that last week?)

Did you catch Boortz this morning? I sometimes hear some if I go for an early lunch, but haven't left the building yet this morning. I won't start on some of his stances (I don't talk politics here. I talk Disney, and now, well, almost anything not-serious, here. Nothing else, hardly. Which is why my post count was so low until I fell in with you lot!)

I cannot BELIEVE how I've gotten hooked into this show. I used to mock it, somewhat mercilessly. Now I'm actually considering missing book club tonight to watch it. We don't have DVR or TiVo or the like, and our VCR is broken. I'm pitiful.

I agree about Paris. She's got a great voice, but she doesn't see to have her own groove. Every number she's somebody totally different, and to me that means she doesn't know herself well enough yet. Course it could just mean she's versatile, what do I know?

Love Taylor, I'd invite him to my party.

Chris is soooo the man. I will buy his CD. I will go to his concert. I will put up posters of him in my room, like a 14 year old. Ok, that might be a little creepy-dee. But I heart Chris!
Hey Kim!

I totally agree. Love everything about him. And I would be Vice-Pres of the fan club!

Yeah, the boy is scared to death of big fuzzy things right now. He was terrified of the Easter Bunny, but finally consented (after an hour) to give him a high five. I don't think I will get an hour of any character's time in Disney! :rotfl2: But he might get over it by the end of the week. And I am hoping for magic from the other stuff. He may be much more receptive of face characters, is likely to love the animals, and enjoys rides. I just have no great hopes of a happy, laughing child next to the Mouse!

Bobby the Kid! We've never done WCC, but plan on it when my kids are a little older. Bobby will probably have retired by then! But if not, I'm going to try and bus his tables!

How's Normal today?

Last edited by Mush : Today at 11:31 AM. Reason: Hey SNAP...what shape are you? Katharine and Chris in the AI finals!

I think it'll be Katharine and Chris in the finals, too...but I'm rooting for Taylor. Partly because, like the dashing Mr. Rhett Butler, I love the underdog, but mostly because I think Taylor is really good, and I would buy his album and pay to see him in concert. Especially now that he's not doing his Ray Charles impression as much.

Between Katharine and Chris, my choice is Katharine; but I think Chris is gonna win. He's got that whole intense rocker thing going that is giving my 13 year old niece and her friends jell-o for knees. "OMG, he's soooooooo hottttttt."

Puh-leez..what do they know? I'm with GaCat...I'd like him a lot more if he'd stop yelling and just sing.

I'm done...I just typed "sign" four times before I ended up with "sing."

Hey thanks. I am going to file this in my Disney binder. I have already heard the words "the trip after this one" so I think my plan to convert DH from fan to fanatic is working some. He wanted to try the Poly, and Polymmom has me tempted, but I really want to try DVC. I think it will make for a much more relaxing trip. I managed to drink that bit of kool-aid before I ran away from the DVC board (yikes).

Ahhh...so you know about Bobby...

How's Normal? About to get stormed on here. Stress levels are high as it's the last week of class here, and everyone's going crazy.

I gave an exam today...noticed some folks that might have been cheating the last time I gave an exam, so I set a trap for them. The guy I think they were looking off of came in early to take the test, and then he sat in when everyone else was taking it and entered in bogus answers. I think we may have nailed a couple of them.

Muahahahahahaha

Caught by YAK :bitelip:

Oh man, did I post to that 'my husbands friend who knows someone who is the spouse of someone who is a teacher in California' thread? Is that the one? That is what got my blood boiling yesterday. I wrote up a lot of replies and chickened out without posting. Now I need to go see what I said. :rotfl:

I just posted to Dan Murphy's thread too :stir: . I am a bad bad girl. I break my own rules. Please don't tell the kids.

No, I was at the school. We had a congratulatory (whew - spelled that one right, I think?) breakfast for the kids who made their first communion on the weekend.

Anything interesting - I'll have to check his notes.

Yesterday when I was listening, I got a little sentimental. There was an accident at the intersection right where we used to live. That is the first time I got a little "verkempt" over the traffic report!!!

Ahhh, yes, I remember it well. The stress of finals, and final papers, and all. It was all so long ago. DH is stressed - he has his ONE AND ONLY final tomorrow night. But, I don't give him too much crap, after all, I didn't have a spouse, 2 kids, a dog, a house, and a job to worry about while I was in college. He needs 20-something hours to finish up his bachelor's. It'll take another year at least. I seriously wish he could take a hiatus from his job and finish in a semester, but that's never going to happen.

Cool that you got a student in on catching the cheaters. I was part of the (what was it actually called?) Disciplinary Council while I was in school there. We students were always tougher in handing out punishment than the faculty. Although I think I was only involved in expelling one or two students - it was for cheating or plagiarism or felony charges.

I think that's what got me really interested in being a lawyer.

Yup, that's the one!

You just chimmed in, I think. Nothing too bad.

Just noticed a Maelstromer was over there :teeth:

I guess I just admitted I'm a Maelstromer stalker on other threads!!
