Jen, why the heck are you doing research on Michelangelo?

I thought your major had something to do with econimics? What exactly IS your major, anyway? (Sorry I haven't asked before.)

We've been at the new house all day hanging mini blinds. Okay, DICK was hanging mini blinds. I was the cheerleader in the Dubble Bubble t-shirt. I made it fun for him, lol. I shokk my pom poms at him a few times and told him he was great A LOT.

I am an accounting major, with a minor in economics

I am taking an art history class so I am writing a paper on that particular piece.

And how do I do it all??? Well for one, I don't have kids, I think that is a big part of it. I think that the biggest piece of it is Andy. He basically takes care of the house, he cooks me dinner, does laundry and cleans the house. He knows that after I work all day and then spend my nights at school that I am pooped, and then I have homework on top of that. And truth be told I think a lot of it has to do with being here. Without being able to come here and relax, I would probably go crazy or be gray. I think it is very important to do things for me sometimes, so coming here and chatting with you guys helps me relax and then I can get my work done.

Hello. I've been lurking and reading this thread for quite awhile and I love you guys! I was trying to read from the beginning of this thread and then I decided to click on "last page". Happily because I'd still be reading all 300 pages

Anyway, SoNotAPrincess. I'm sitting here wwwwaaaaiiiiitttting for your report on Dude Day at WDW. Where did you go? did the girls dude you death?

Rock On Maelstromers!

I've been catching up on this thread since Wednesday! (and I was only out of town for 3 days!). No way in heck am I going to sum up almost 200 pages, except to say I've laughed out loud so many times at the screen I think my DH thinks I've lost my mind - no, honey, I'm a Maelstromer! (same thing, right?)

Wish I could be at the Maelstrom meet, but I'll probably be in Disneyland the month after, so that might be pushing it.

Congratulations everyone on the tags! I'm still waiting for my first - and my entry in the yearbook (ahem, Lou).

I'm going to try to keep up, but I've enjoyed the last couple nights of chats I've joined - I love my new cyberfriends!

Yeah, you are probably right about the no kid helping out. They DO take a lot of time, and I only have one!

Andy sounds like a great guy. Dick is that way, too. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't even know how to change a vacumn cleaner bag. He spoils me way too much. But hey, I ain't comlpaining!

Howdy folks! Hope everyone has had a great day. It was SUPER COOL to have GACat in church today. But I will admit that I was very nervous. I don't really know why. I am hardly ever nervous preaching etc., but knowing she was there for some reason had me nervous. AND throw in the fact that apparently this was Murphy's Law day at our church - cause if it could have gone wrong, it did. Well, not really. Our new 80's Sunday School class is pretty awesome. I'm really excited about it.

But here's what happened in worship: We start with the choir singing an Introit. Well during the WHOLE song there was serious feedback. Our sound guy was running furiously trying to find out what was going on. He couldn't figure it out. So, he shut everything down. We had to do the entire service without microphones. Which is not necessarily a problem, but some of what we were doing really needed to have some micrphones available. At one point I just said, "Don't worry about it, we'll just go without mikes and I'll talk loud."

Well that was fine until it was time for the choir to do the anthem. Our choir uses the sound system for the music - long story - for another time. So the choir is all set to sing while we were taking up the offering, and then we realized that we didn't have sound. So, I tried to make it funny and stepped to the front and said "We are experiencing technical dificulties, please stand by. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!"

I hate it when stuff like that happens. Cause I know our regular folk woudn't be affected by it, but when visitors are there, and Amy was not the only one, it all needs to be done with excellence. Anymore, we have first time visitors every Sunday and it all needs to be seamless as Disney says. Well, it didn't happen today. Oh well, Amy, come back some Sunday and we'll have a normal service!

So here's how I worked in Maelstrom. I told Rhonda that if Amy ever did come, or any of you, that I was going to do my best to work it in. SO I was talking about small groups and how that can have a huge impact on people growing in their faith, etc. I mentioned a small group I was in at FSU (GO NOLES - where's lilygator?) and how college is a place where you can be pulled away pretty easily. I said something along the lines of "College can be a Maelstrom of distractions and temptations..."

When I said it, I glanced down at Amy and she was grinning from ear to ear! Sorry I didn't have much time for you this morning - it was a busy day for me. But it certainly was great to meet you! We should all do dinner sometime!

I've been to an offical DISmeet! Yaaaaaaay!

Blessings!

All I have to say is you are one rockin Mom, PolyJenMelonornoMelonMom!

For some strange reason, Baywatch comes to mind. So this lil' ditty is for you. In honor of your heroism and never failing commitment to always be ready.

Some people stand in the darkness
Afraid to step into the light
Some people need to help somebody
When the edge of surrender's in sight..

Don't you worry!
Its gonna be alright
'cause I'm always ready,
I won't let you out of my sight.

I'll be ready (I'll be ready)
Never you fear (no don't you fear)
I'll be ready
Forever and always
I'm always here.

In us we all have the power
But sometimes its so hard to see
And instinct is stronger than reason
It's just human nature to me..

Don't you worry!
Its gonna be alright
'cause I'm always ready,
I won't let you out of my sight.

I'll be ready (I'll be ready)
Never you fear (no don't you fear)
I'll be ready
Forever and always
I'm always here.

(Instrumental)

'Cause I'm always ready
I won't let you out of my sight!

I'll be ready (I'll be ready)
Never you fear (no don't you fear)
I'll be ready
Forever and always
I'm always here.

Forever and always
I'm always here.

Yeah, the site said it was the Baywatch theme. I think now it is PolyJennaMelonsornoMelonsMom's theme.

Rock On Maelstromers!

Welllllll, real life is what happened to my trip report. I went on a two-week work related road trip, and the TR got pushed to the back burner.

I didn't take notes (it was just a one-day visit), and by the time I was able to get back to it, the details were blurry, and I felt like I couldn't do the day justice.

But fear not...we are headed over to WDW this coming weekend for the Flower and Garden Fesitival and Rockin Rollercoaster: Eyes Wide Open.

I've actually felt pretty rotten about not posting the Dudette Day report, so I'll definitely write a trip report on the upcoming weekend and post it immediately.

Thanks for asking!!

I think it's great that Amy made it to your church today. Get all the nervous stuff out of the way so when 8 or 10 of us show up, you can be calm. Cause we are a crazy bunch and you never know when we might show up.

Haley - we are really going to need that real name list. That is a great idea.

Hi Monique - glad you put your assets to work today.

Poly Jen - You should have taken pictures. Your fan club would have loved it.

hooP - your post was awesome. :cloud9: Pooh you better watch him cause women love a man with heart.

Hi everybody - welcome back to some of the missing members. Anybody seen J and R's mom lately.

Just for the record - I don't need no stinking tag. :smokin:

Hi Jamal where ever you are!

Thanks for replying so quickly. I read your TR yesterday afternoon and laughed at the girls. Friends of mine have an 11 year old girl going on 27 and she sounds exactly like your neice. I really look forward to your October TR so I can compare notes.

Have a great time this weekend and "kiss" Steven Tyler for me

hooP- Take a gander at the locked thread at the top of the TR board. You are no where near being kicked off our islannd. Sorry. Mr. Silly had is second post EVER pulled! It vanished. Sleeping with the fishes, vanished. From that thread. His post went something like "I am shocked that this thread is breaking its own rules. This is not a Trip Report."

I have never seen the Sapranos (shocking I know, we do not watch TV, at all, except the kids do so I know who Spongebob is) but in case I ever do, who do you look like? Do ya know? Or do you just look Italian? But doesn't half of New Jersey look Italian?

I probably just look Italian. I was so excited that he thought I was somebody famous that I did not want to burst my own bubble so rather than asking questions I just played along. I think if he would have asked for my autograph I would have scribbled something illegible.

How u duwin! Fageta bout it!

Hey ya'll -

I just have to report for those of you that caught my 1/2 lb rant yesterday am - that double workout did it's magic! I am 2..5 lbs lighter today! See JW, sometimes it does pay to weigh daily! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Either that or you need to calibrate your scale :rolleyes1

Those double workouts do help because you sweat alot more so you have more water loss :teeth:

Now lets hope it doesn't take double workouts to keep it off :smokin:

But seriously congratulations and keep it up :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Just wanted to say that Amy, Mark, and Rhonda, I'm so excited for you all and your mini-DISmeet. Amy, I'm jealous that you got to hear Mark! But I feel like I know you all so well, that I was thrilled when I heard you got together - and that Maelstrom was part of the equation!

Oh, and even though I won't make the October Maelstrom meet, I thought I'd join in the "real-name" club - mine's Krista. Nice to meet ya!

Hey peeps!

I went to Atlanta this weekend for a wedding and then went to the new Georgia Aquarium today. It was sooo super cool. I found out my four year old is deathly afraid of glass elevators. We stayed in a 47 story hotel downtown and every elevator is glass so you can see the lobby while you are shooting up and down. We were on the 16th floor and every time we got in, my four year old dropped down and got on all fours shaking in fear - it was so sad but soooo freaking funny. My 7 year old grinds his teeth at night....and my husband just goes insane listening to it...so HE grabs the comforter off the bed around 2 am, and sleeps curled up on the bathroom floor. He paid a crapload of money to sleep on that floor...poor thing. I had so much wine that I didn't hear a thing. See, too much alcohol is good for some things! :thumbsup2

Hope eveyone has a good week! :wave2: Melon, your party story just killed me...you poor thing!!!
