He wanted to know if I was bringing nametags...

I told him we could just call each other "sista" if we can't get the names down.

I suppose for all who don't know...I need to share what happened to me last night at my 6yo's pool party.

So we rented a pool side suite at a local hotel for the night. I packed, bought some Zebra cakes from the Dollar Tree and a HUGE number 6 candle to put on top of HER Zebra cake only. That IS the REDNECK version of a birthday cake just so ya know....yep...Hostess. The American culinary delight we call a dessert.

They come in pink at Easter too BTW.

Anyway...so the first child gets dropped off at the pool. Please note I spend 80 bucks on POOL TOYS at the store but am too cheap to buy a freaggin cake. (And I love the Poly btw... "no Meredith...you can't get a doodle bear for your birthday sweetie...gramma's birthday money goes right into the DISNEY JAR remember??? )
So every 26 kids get a pool floatie ring thing cuz I told you I have a supervision problem...and I wasn't intending on getting in the pool or getting my swimsuit on cuz I still have 8 weeks til summer here in Iowa. So there.

I did in fact dress to the NINES in my new LIMITED white, hipster stretch cotton warm up suit with a cute PINK tank underneath, I even sported the sunglasses on the head (even though it was 50 degrees and raining). Meredith can swim like a FISH. All of my girls are avid swimmers really. They get that from me because I could swim at 2 yrs old. Yeah I think I was a dolphin in a fomer life, or maybe a squid, who knows.

So Meredith jumps in the deep end...a whopping 7 feet deep. Madi P, her friend says to me "I can swim." FAMOUS LAST WORDS PEOPLE.

CUZ SHE CAN'T SWIM
SHE CAN'T DOG PEDAL
SHE CAN'T FLOAT EITHER.

she jumps and SINKS.

A five year old kid, that I did not give BIRTH to and am in charge of is drowning at this point.

Meredith just watches in amazement...I think she was like "SWIM MADI...MOVE YOUR ARMS MADI...KICK MADI..."

Oh so NOW your gonna give her lessons. heh??

let me also interject here and say...I am no Eva Longoria in a Limited White workout suit either, no sir I am not.

I think I question for a split second JUST how many rolls will show if I get this gem wet.

Then I jump in.

After the kid. And save her. Cuz my 9 yo daugther, the one who was supposed to be helping me watch the kids, is over in the hot tub socializing with some French speaking family... IN IOWA...WHY???

And she can't freaking speak French, but I hear her over there going "uhhhh...french fries are good...I make French toast for my family...OOH Frech Bread is sooo great when dipped in Spaghetti sauce..."

I swear.

Anyway I do my civic duty for the night and rescue the child.

This was our FIRST guest of the night and the party had not even started yet.

Yeah.

And my hair is naturally curly...

then I have to greet other parents as they arrive...wet in my clothes. Seriously.

Because dh doesn't want to spend the night in the 200 dollar pool side suite, he'd rather go home. So I packed no extra clothes.

Thank god I had that white sz 4 string bikini in my change purse or I would have been REALLY embarrased of my appearance as I met the other parents.

So thats my birthday party story.'

Next year I will need a list of everyones kids from this thread cuz I am inviting them all to our "fencing without padding" party!!!

Maybe I can get a job on the Sapranos. One of the places I work is Newark New Jersey. I was in an Deli and one of the Waiters came up to me and said.."So are you guys filming today?". I looked at him confused. He said again..."You know... The Sapranos.. Are you filming today." I thought to myself...I'm Italian but I must realy look Italian, like Sapranos Italian.

I turned to him and said. No were not filmin today. I'm just here for da food..Em sayin.

Hi everyone. Well, even though I didn't study as much as I should have...I did pretty well on my test. Now I just have to make it through my final, and then I will be able to DIS more.

Y'all have been VERY busy around here. It's been hard trying to keep up! (and I barely ever post). PongoJen, I have no idea how you do it all!

Today was supposed to be a restful, relaxing day. Instead, I had to tote the kids to 3 soccer games and a t-ball game, and DH had to work...a double. (He is on a rotating schedule...he works 4 days and has 2 days off). Not sure who's idea it is to have the games on Sunday's, but that's how it goes.

Lil Grumpy, you totally rock. I think a lot of people on these boards tend to get worked up over the small stuff. That really isn't what Disney is all about though. PooP, I thought your replies to his post were great...all the other Maelstromers too...that is why I love this thread...even if it is hard to keep up..

OK...well enough of my rambling...still have to study...just wanted to stop by and say

I thought your major had something to do with econimics? What exactly IS your major, anyway? (Sorry I haven't asked before.)

We've been at the new house all day hanging mini blinds. Okay, DICK was hanging mini blinds. I was the cheerleader in the Dubble Bubble t-shirt. I made it fun for him, lol. I shook my pom poms at him a few times and told him he was great A LOT.

Polymama- Way to make a splash! I love that story. That is a classic. You will be the talk of the town, girl, plus some Christmas or Thanksgiving 25 years from now you will have a GREAT story to tell your DD's boyfriend!

Additionally Mr. Silly is amazed and slightly out of sorts over the fact that I have never mentioned to you that he is a Master at playing a Ukulele and he always wears Hawaiin print shirts. Always. He also talks like a pirate sometimes. He wants to stay at the POLY!!!! Just not this next trip. But maybe the one after... which means he is not cutting me off after this next one, so excellent I wonder if he won lotto and forgot to tell me?? I guess maybe he means after Ryan is out of college?

SNAP- Real name thing is because we are thinking it might be awkward to call each other "1000happyhaunts" and "Horsegirl" at the Maelstrom meet in October.

hooP- Take a gander at the locked thread at the top of the TR board. You are no where near being kicked off our islannd. Sorry. Mr. Silly had is second post EVER pulled! It vanished. Sleeping with the fishes, vanished. From that thread. His post went something like "I am shocked that this thread is breaking its own rules. This is not a Trip Report."

I have never seen the Sapranos (shocking I know, we do not watch TV, at all, except the kids do so I know who Spongebob is) but in case I ever do, who do you look like? Do ya know? Or do you just look Italian? But doesn't half of New Jersey look Italian?
