I think mothering topics are hot buttons, because everyone wants to think they're not sucking at it. Y'know, stay home vs. working, breast vs bottle, cloth vs pampers. Whatever it is, nobody wants to think they're doing the wrong thing on the most important job there is ... so they get defensive and nasty.

some people on this board are so totally stupid you wonder what planet they came from and when the hell they are going back...

this is why I stick primarily to THIS thread and the resort and TR thread...I try to branch out to some CB thread about step parenting and I get some sill ninny saying step parents should ALWAYS leave all the rule and discipline to the bio parent...
to which I replied in my family that would NEVER work, I am a TEACHER and stay at home with all of our kids in the summer and after school and as a caregiver and adult and someone who loves all of my kids, I can not leave the rule enforcement, guidance and discipline to my dh or it would never get done..
she said her step dad was an A#$@$ and treated her bad

I think she needs to resolve her own issues in her own blended family before she goes and gives advice to others...
yeah I told her so.

Just remember that most people that went into that field (psychology) did so in order to try to figure themselves out. It's obvious this person is still working on that. Don't let the crazies get to you!

Jenmelonmommy: No one needs to be such a smarta#@ to you. I posted a question about concierge once, what exactly does it involve and would it be worth it. I had seen some pics of concierge offerings and I had said a little plate of those goodies could pass as a meal for us, especially if we were on the dining plan. I had some lady coming at me about how I could not use it as a meal and that we couldn't be a bunch of disrespectful pigs about it. She pretty much thought my motives were to raid the concierge room for all they had. I was bothered. I had to defend my familiy's manners and explain how much we eat. I realized I didn't really like posting after that so therefore I quit and would only post on Vettechick's thread because people were so drunk there that everyone was nice! I just don't have time for smarta#@ meanies. Sorry that happened to you! I'm glad we're on a ship full of funny smartas#es!
