Hey Guys,
Well, I'm the notorious husband of the "Angry Splash Mountain Lady" and, yeah, it's been pretty crazy how viral our picture went. I just thought it was funny when I first saw it; if you've read our story around, you know this, but I'll quickly recap - we were in the Magic Kingdom with my in-laws and our infant son, and we'd been doing rides and such all day long. It got kind of hot, it was getting towards the end of the day, and even though we had fast passes, I totally bailed. I just didn't feel like going on another ride - trouble is, in our previous trips to WDW, I had promised I'd go on with her! My first trip was in Jan 2015 (Ever, I know. I was 36 and it blew me away.) Splash Mountain is one of her favorite rides, but it was closed for refurbishment then. So we went back for a couple days in May (Had a couple of non-expiring days left on our tickets, woo-hoo) but she was pregnant, so she couldn't ride! So this was supposed to be the big time I went with her - and I didn't want to... so, she marched off towards the queue and we all went to wait for her outside the "Briar Patch". I knew she was going to give me some kind of look when she got off the ride, but she walked towards me after the ride, had her phone out, and pulled the pic up on the App and said, 'Here... I did this for you!" and I just lost it. We laughed a ton - it was amazingly perfect now she nailed that look! Later on, we still chuckled about it - I posted it on reddit and imgur thinking some people might find it funny, and it just went everywhere!
You know, the internet and media is a funny thing - we didn't have any control over why and where it spread; I've heard people say that they loved it and some say they didn't know why it went viral. It just did, and it's a pretty cool memento of our trip. Being able to go to Disney World was just a silly dream we used to have when I was on kidney dialysis for years, and the fact that we've been lucky enough to visit three times in the last two years is just a blessing. I'm glad that some people had fun with it, too, because in the end - it's all about fun. We love Walt Disney World, and we've been granted two dreams that came true from there - one was simply to be able to travel and go, happy and healthy. The other wish I made the first time I went was to be able to have a child, something we dreamed of for years. We made this year's trip with our son, and it was an amazing experience. Again, thanks to all who took the time to read, share and laugh about our story and picture.
